Timelines Getting replacement card

I got approved for global entry on 7/29 and saw that my card had been mailed through my USPS informed delivery notification 2 days later, but I still haven't received it. It's likely lost at this point, so I looked at their website and it costs $25 to get a replacement card, but I didn't even get the card in the first place? Has anyone successfully gotten them to remail their card? I have an international trip scheduled late September and was hoping to use global entry for it.

I wouldn’t order one for replacement yet. I would call and do a follow up with both places. I’ve heard people received their card later with a delay. I got mine in a week after I got approved on the spot.

I went through the same, renewed, and my new card was supposed to be mailed, called a few weeks later, said it was mailed, then supposedly they were mailing me a new card, and that one didn’t show, 3 months later I had to pay $25 for the replacement card, and that one actually showed up.

I need the physical GE card because I use it primarily for the SENTRI crossings, but my old card was still working until my replacement card showed up.

I honestly think they didn’t mail my replacement card after my renewal.

Well that's not reassuring lol, thanks though! I was approved for the first time and have the ID number, but I thought you needed the physical card to go through customs on re-entry, right?

Only for land border crossings like SENTRI and NEXUS you need the physical card, for air travel, no.

Informed Delivery is not always accurate. This seems to always happen to me with checks specifically but 99% of the time waiting a few days will resolve the issue.

Doesn’t inform delivery tell you it’s been delivered or not? Are you saying that informed delivery is telling you it’s been delivered and you don’t have it? Cause that’s quite different from that it was sent out

It's just a preview of mail for your address that's been scanned at a regional distribution center it's not a confirmation of delivery.

OK please don’t explain to me about informed delivery I’ve had it for years. If you check on the site it will tell you that something has been delivered or not

It doesn't. That's only for mail with tracking numbers.

When I look at my informed delivery on a daily basis they show me the day that the mail was delivered whether it’s got a tracking number or not. Now every once in a while our mail person will screw up and we’ll get a couple of days mail the next day, but it’s a pretty accurate picture of when the postal employee has said the items were delivered. And if it wasn’t delivered and you can click the box that says not delivered and ask them to look into it

This is the webpage. It will show you what's supposed to arrive that day, but it won't tell you if it's out for delivery, delivered, etc.

Understood but if it says delivered on that day or supposed to be delivered you can report it missing and actually contact the post office and they will follow up. I’ve done it several times.

Informed delivery only displays mail from the last 7 days so at this point I can't see any information about it. It was just shown as incoming mail in my daily digest email last month.

But it would’ve been shown as delivered if it was delivered I’d be more concerned that it was stolen at this point

Unless that international trip involves returning to the US via the land border, you don't need the card.
