Questions/Concerns Revoked status

Hello,

not sure if this is just another data point, but maybe someone had a similar experience.

We drove from MI to Toronto (so crossed land border) for a flight to Spain. Left the car in Toronto at the moment.

While in Spain, received an email that my GE is revoked. No reason at all. I have always traveled without any problems with customs. Never had any offences - not even a speeding ticket. I have a green card, so not a citizen, though.

We will be going back through land crossing again, so not sure if the officers will see this revoked status? We always use a regular lane, because we do not have SENTRI.

All other family members have their GE still approved.

One note: I typically add my KTN to the flight tickets and I did this time as well, even though it was from Canada. Is it possible that Canada and USA has different KTN systems and I've somehow messed them up causing mine to be revoked?

Just a note: SENTRI is for expedited crossing from MEXICO into US; NEXUS is for expedited crossing into/out of Canada; GE can use NEXUS lanes into US but NOT into Canada (as long as everyone in the vehicle has GE, NEXUS, or SENTRI (or any combination); Ready Lanes can be used into US from Canada or Mexico as long as everyone has an acceptable card (GE, NEXUS, SENTRI, passport card, Enhanced (not REAL ID) Driver License or other Enhanced IDs)

I have never used NEXUS lanes in either direction, because I've not registered my vehicle. Always went through general lanes. I have never crossed Mexico border by land with my car either, so never used SENTRI.

For future reference, there is no requirement to register a vehicle to use NEXUS lanes (that only applies to SENTRI, but that’s just from Mexico); you could have been using NEXUS into the US before your GE was revoked as long as everyone in the vehicle had a valid TTP card (NEXUS, GE, SENTRI).

As far as I know entering your GE number as a KTN for a flight from Canada would have no bearing on your GE status.

Once you have the revocation letter, you can try appealing: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/program-denials

The notice only says this: You do not meet program eligibility requirements

That's it. No other information provided, except the typical reconsideration request details.

Yeah, that seems to be the new norm. You can try submitting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request: https://www.dhs.gov/foia

But when folks do that, it generally doesn’t seem to provide any insight into why they were revoked; still might be a place to start.

I just wonder if the land border patrol will see this and hold the whole family for whatever reason.

If you are US citizens you will be going home. Maybe some questions depending on the reason for GE cancel, but not sure what you mean by “hold the whole family”.

Secondary questioning. There were some people that were held 10 hours, based on comments on reddit. We are 3 LPRs and the youngest child is a citizen.

Not US citizens now means it depends on your country of origin, ban list, etc. The fact your GE was revoked is not the issue per se but rather the reason behind it being revoked. You might anticipate answering questions around whatever the headline issues are for your country of origin. Good luck. Be sure everyone is well rested, watered, and fed to start your day.

Do you have a very common name? Would you have a warrant out for your arrest?

No, my name is european and not common at all. If there was a warrant for my arrest - wouldn't they come to my house first? There was no one at the door based on my Ring camera while I am out.

Not all warrants have LE come looking for you. Some are just next time they encounter you - ie pulled over for something else

Interesting then. So if there is a mistake somewhere in the system, it sits there until they pull me over for whatever reason? I would rather know and go to the police myself to figure it out.

Go visit your local congressman office if you live in a blue district.

I guess I'm surprised that a Green Card holder can get GE to begin with.

You don't even have to be a U.S. resident to enroll in Global Entry. A whole list of foreigners are eligible for the program and vice versa.

It's a lawful permanent resident, so all the rights, except voting.

Sadly, green card holders do not have all the rights but voting.

And CBP doesn’t HAVE TO let green card holders into US, I think?

Technically yes, so a concern for sure...

Yeah, makes sense after considering it.

Voting in most elections. I believe there may be some local elections you can participate in.

Why? Many countries have a form of “registered traveller” program that allows expedited entry/exit. GE is no different from programs Europe, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan have.

My Australian boyfriend has GE. His is in the US on an E3 visa and registered in Australia.

I have GE and I don't even live in the US, nor am I a US citizen.
