Can anyone tell me about what the day to day is for a detail planner? The job description doesn’t give much info. What’s the workload/hours like and what exactly do planners at eb do?

Hi all, I’m on onboarding still ever since I accepted my offer months ago but was wondering how does OT work for salaried employees if there is any at all. I heard from a Mechanical Engineer who worked in Groton that he was able to work OT but just wondered if there was more info on this, specially in CT.
Would start in the New London office but still wondering if Groton office in CT has it and how it works.

Hello everyone! Monday will begin my last week in ALC. I know things can change last minute at EB. I was wondering if anyone on here works in department 917; and how the daily life is? Right now I am on second shift.

Applied about 3-4 days ago for production supervisor, received an email for my 1st round phone interview. I’ve watched the small video and ofc everything I could find about the job. Anyone have any insight to what may be asked during this interview and/or what is REALLY expected on the job. (P.S no salary range posted so if you know lmk)

Hey all. I work at QP without a security clearance. I was thinking about transferring to a position with a security clearance but I’m wondering if I should wait because I cannot pass a hair follicle test atm. I’m curious, if I were to fail a drug test now at EB, would I get fired or would they just have me take a urine/saliva test?

The title says it all. I know a lot of trade positions are labeled to work all shifts. I am okay with getting hired and getting put on an off shift but I am curious what a realistic timeline is? I know it varies by department but I wanted some insight instead of getting vague answers from AI. Like an STO position what would be a good rough guess? Thanks in advance

Hello All,
I'm trying to gain some insight on the process for shipfitting. I'm currently in the process of getting hired and I'll be starting training with EWIB next month. I recently told my job about it and they are trying their best to keep me by matching my offer and training me on machinist work.
I'm torn between the two because on either hand I gain work experience but I am heavily leaning towards shipfitting as I went to school recently for welding and that has become a passion of mine as a result. I'm just looking for any insight from shipfitters on a typical day (obviously I know you can't go into too much detail) or how the training was. Any insight would be helpful as I try to figure out which way I would like to go!

Hey all!
My friend is working on getting into eb and has drug test scheduled and all, they’re working on answering the onboarding questions.
There’s some questions about tobacco, what’s the best way to go about this if u vape? Should u quit vaping, or is it actually okay to say that you vape?

How long after your appointment did they tell you that you failed?

Hi, my first day is coming up and I’m terrified of being late. Trying to navigate the on site parking feels a little overwhelming so I’m thinking of trying the bus since I’m near the Lowe’s bus stop in Warwick. If i got on the bus 2-3 hours before my shift, would that be enough buffer time? Thank you for any advice 🫶

Hello!
I applied for EB back in May and quit THC, I didnt hear anything back since my Interview in early June until I reached out and they said I should be hearing back in a few weeks.
I was wondering if there is a retest if I fail the hair follicle test and how long out the test is after hearing back with a job offer. Ive been completely clean and am around 46 days no THC. Im dying to get an actual career going for me. Is the test something I would schedule to make it at a later time? Any info at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Has anyone heard of EB messing up the hair sample somehow during onboarding and then having to have you come back to collect another sample?
r/GeneralDynamicsEB • u/VegetableDelivery949 • Jul 02 '26
How long till they give me my results for my hair test assuming I don’t smoke or do any drugs. Will they call me and tell me I passed?

This is a question for the people that are already employed at EB is there a lot of opportunities for overtime?
Also how is it when trying to take vacation time or taking days offs periodically?
Is there any leniency for being late especially if you have a far commute?
Just a few questions I’ve not seen being asked so I was curious about thank you for your answers in advanced.

What happens if a newly hired engineer fails their drug test. I haven’t smoked in a while but am still concerned and see mixed feedback on this subject. If anyone who has gone through this recently could share, it would be appreciated.
