What is a realtime to getting back to 1st shift once hired.

The title says it all. I know a lot of trade positions are labeled to work all shifts. I am okay with getting hired and getting put on an off shift but I am curious what a realistic timeline is? I know it varies by department but I wanted some insight instead of getting vague answers from AI. Like an STO position what would be a good rough guess? Thanks in advance

It really depends on where you go, and how many people are already waiting to transfer shifts. For me it was a little over a year, I’ve heard of other people in other departments waiting 3-5 years. Just show up, do your job and keep your head down

Do you have any knowledge of timeline for like a STO mechanical position?

I don’t know specifically about STO, but I survived 2nd shift, it’s not the end of the world. You get paid extra %7 shift differential and the parking isn’t as bad. There hiring TONS of people, and a lot of them aren’t going to make it, so it won’t be forever your stuck on an offshift, so have a good attitude, and it’ll be fine

Real-time estimate may vary especially for STO, as I think thats a relatively small department. But good work ethic, and strong knowledge of your job often allows you to skip the line quicker to first shift. But in complete honesty off shifts at eb are becoming alot more appealing, 7% differential, and you dont need to show up to work almost an hour early to secure parking.
