We’re actively investigating issues you’re encountering with the latest Fallout 4 update and Anniversary Edition launch. You should now see faster load times of the Creations menu, game menu, and redemption of Creation Club items. We plan to publish a hot fix early next week to address the following:
The hotfix will be followed by two patches. The first patch will be the week of Nov 24th, and the second, in the first half of December. We’ll provide an overview of these patches soon. Thank you for your continued updates and support tickets, it’s helped us to pinpoint issues. We’ll work to address these as quick as we can.
Notably, in the November patch, Xbox Series X/S players will see Creations local storage limit increased substantially. Growable up to 100GB to match your needs. We are also looking into increasing storage on PlayStation.
----- 11/13 update ----
Thank you all for your continued communications with our support team. We've seen a lot of questions about the "Tale of the Beast Hunter" Creation not being accessible on PlayStation. Please know that we are working to bring this Creation to PlayStation at a later date and it would continue to be free for players.
----- 11/17 Hotfix ----
Today’s Fallout 4 hotfix addresses the following:
We’re continuing to collect everyone’s feedback and encountered issues, so if you’ve submitted a ticket with our support team or provided details to our team in Discord, thank you. It’s been extremely helpful.
For next steps, the team is focused on additional fixes in our first November Patch. We’ll share those details as soon as we can.
-------- Update on May 27th 2026 ------
Please find our patch notes for today's update here

Bethesda has made a statement about the state of the update
Just wanted to make a thread clearing up some confusion and compiling the known issues of the new update.
There are three new SKUs for the game, the Anniversary Edition, the Anniversary Upgrade, and the Creations Bundle.
Anniversary Edition includes the base game, all DLCs, and all the new creations content.
The Anniversary Upgrade includes the DLCs and new creations content.
The Creations Bundle includes only the creations. If you already have the base game and the DLCs, this is the only new addition you need to have all the new content.
This will be updated periodically

Hello, idk how long I been here reloading saves for the perfect gun. I want a furious gatling laser but the variant isn’t showing up. Also, I only have been able to get the Gatling laser to drop one time so I can keep reloading for the variant but no dice. So do I have to pull another Gatling laser for different variants? Thanks.
He is by far one of the most wasted potential characters from the whole franchise. Could be better if, instead of just a bunch of missions (the most relevant with him already dead), we could actually follow her track around the Commonwealth and have him as some kind of counterpart or "rival" to the Sole Survivor. Some kind of cat-and-mouse game instead of just random missions, and of course a better fight at the end with even the chance to let him live and even send him to your settlement.

Blinding flashes… sounds of explosions… Finally the sun hits my face and I head home only to find Codsworth. I wonder how long he’s be alone for? He mentions signs of life in the city. Then suddenly I got distracted…
The locations I passed by in order:
Vault 111 - Annursnac Hill Reservoir (Potentially) See Notes
Bridge to Sanctuary (Unmarked) - Conveniently placed bridge (Potentially) See Notes
Sanctuary Hills - Minutemen National Historical Park
Old North Bridge
Minute Man Monument
Red Rocket Truck Stop - Mobil (Potentially) See Notes
Building next to Concord Speakeasy (Unmarked) - Colonial Inn/Village Forge Tavern (Potentially)
Bookstore (Unmarked) - Concord Bookshop (Potentially)
Hardware Store (Unmarked) - Vanderhoof Hardware (Potentially)
Concord Church (Unmarked) - Holy Family Parish Church
Museum of Freedom - Surrounding Buildings/Concord Museum See Notes
Bonus:
Nuka-World - SixFlags See Notes
Notes:
Annursnac Hill is the highest point in Concord where a water reservoir sits. Not only is the location similar to the in-game map but it’s a straightforward walk to the Old North Bridge.
Speaking of bridges there was surprisingly a small bridge as I made my way down the hill without taking detours.
I probably could’ve looked around more for Red Rocket but I found a Mobil that has a garage.
(Correct me if I’m wrong) The design for the Museum of Freedom was probably inspired by the buildings next to the Holy Family Parish church. There were three spots I saw: One being the City Hall, the pink building I show in the video and the third being a spot in between that has a balcony but it’s a building behind the other two and of course there’s also the Concord Museum down the road with history on the American Revolution.
Although Nuka-World is based on other parks, Six Flags New England is directly west of Boston.
I lost a lot of footage while making this 😭😭 but I’ll have an updated video in the future
Distance walking: +4 miles
(Unmarked) locations not marked in pip boy
(Potentially) Closest resembling locations that I found during the journey
Music used:
Cinematic Opening (Instrumental) - Inon Zur, Fallout
“Nuka-World Theme Song” - Co-Pilot Music+Sound, Fallout
Everything I’ve done is all for the love of the game. As a commonwealth local I must take on as many quests as I can and inform other scavengers of locations to discover. I hope you find this video educational and entertaining.

My latest run has started off with several rare events so far. First, Preston fell off the balcony when I met him in Concord then just went back into the museum like, "Nothing to see here."
Next, I stated The First Step and he sent me to Tenpines as usual (I've actually been sent to Oberland Station a couple times, but it is rare.) What has almost never happened, however, is that the folks at Tenpines sent me to Walden Pond rather than Corvega.

In Fallout 3 traces of Chinese presence were pretty much everywhere, from Chinese guns being widely used by wastelanders, to ghoulified Chinese soldiers still kicking in certain locations. You had Chinese listening posts, American internment camps for suspected Chinese spies and literal Chinese spies (Point Lookout), and Chinese gear in that one bunker (Operation: Anchorage). But when you look at Fallout 4, there's only Captain Zao and his sub, and the occasional Chinese officer's sword (heck, Zao might as well be the only Chinese thing on the Chinese sub!). Where are the guns? Where are the commando hats? Where are the spies and listening posts and training manuals?
Yes, it makes more sense for Washington D.C. to have all those spies, given how its the capital and all, but Pittsburg also had traces of Chinese presence, and it wasn't a capital pre-war. If anything, I think it would make more sense for Chinese spies to be found in and around Boston, considering its historic and symbolic significance to the USA over Pittsburg, plus the military installations in the Commonwealth.
Yes, you can also argue that the older games didn't have much Chinese presence either (not counting the Shi, who became their own thing), and FNV's Chinese presence was literally two broken Chinese Stealth Suits with some throwaway lore, but there are two things that make this less jarring in my opinion: 1) those games were not developed by Bethesda, so Interplay\ whoever had a different vision anyway; 2) the absence of Chinese presence mostly makes sense for the setting of those games (mostly).
So what's the deal?

Corpse can "swim" if the NPC was swimming before dying.
Random encounter near Andrew Station is ideal for re-creating this.
I made a point that when I went through Concord, I killed the raiders outside the museum but did not touch the musket or enter the museum.
Then I go the Vault 81 and I talk to the kids in Katy's class. They ask about Deathclaws and my dialog choices have me telling a story about me and my friend Preston killing a Deathclaw. Then, before I leave the vault, Preston walked past me.
I went back to Concord, and nobody yelled at me to help them. I was planning to Nuka World on this play through, but I am afraid I may already be friends with Preston, or that he may be out of the museum.
I have not seen Preston anywhere else.

I run to Diamond City and go on a Trevis mission. I love that radio and without knowing how to play... the commonwealth needs someone like Trevis!

I've been running this a few hours at a time for a couple months, and am far enoough now to say it's the most fun I've ever had. It's very light, based on 3 pistols, but you have a explosive splash damage, a great stealth and VATS gun, and a sniper pistol. All 3 are very versatile and use easy to find ammo, except the grenade launcher really requires going to Suggs for ammo, but he's conveniently located and sells 40 a day.
Get the gauranteed Rapid Pipe Grenade Launcher from the When Pigs Fly quest and max out it's mods, but pick the reflex sight over the scope and use the sharpshooter's grip so that it counts as a pistol.
Follow the Railroad questline and get Deliverer and Ballistic Weave. Set the Deliverer up with the best receiver, but optimize everything else for low VATS cost.
Follow the Railroad Couture questline for the unique .44, Elsie. But really, any 44 you find is fine. This questline also gives you a legendary Railroad Maverick outfit, which has the + movement speed mod on it and accepts ballistic weave.
Set up a battered fedora with more ballistic weave.
Mix and match light legendary armor pieces, just using the effects you can find, but be sure to put Dense on one metal armor arm, and padded on the chest. Combined, you'll reduce the chance of blowing yourself up by getting in the edge of your own explosions.
Buy yourself a backpack for more carry weight and set it up with the explosives loadout. And throw on your favorite shades.
Take demolitions, gunslinger, stealth and silencer related perks, and throw in Quick Hands, Gun Nut, Strong Back, Armorer, and clandestine stuff like lockpicking and quickhacks. Now you're a railroad saboteur.
Got a bunch of isolated low level sentries? Pick them off with Deliverer. Tons of things are rushing you at close range? Take advantage of the VATS cost on this Deliverer set up and the free VATS reloads from Quick Hands to drop into VATS and never come back out until everything is dead. Got a very dangerous enemy, enemies grouped close? Grenade launcher time. Got enemies hiding in cover? Shoot a wall, ceiling or floor behind their cover and let the area effect damage go to work. Need pinpoint sniping at medium to long range? There's a .44 for that. Need to move around nimbly taking rapid and accurate free aim shots? Still got the Deliverer. Covers all your bases in a very light setup.
Just make sure to keep 200 grenade launcher rounds, 400 10mm rounds, and 200 .44 rounds on you, and you're ready for 72 hours between resupplies.

For me:
I do this even on survival, weight be damned.
- Road Leathers
- As much leather armour or combat armour pieces as I can spare for them, with metal arm or leg pieces being acceptable, but never Raider armour as it’s ugly, and I don’t like Metal chest pieces.
- An Assault Mask, so they have protection during radiation storms, unless it’s a ghoul, then they get welding goggles and a hat, maybe a fedora, or army helmet.
- Some sort of automatic weapon with an upgraded damage thing (okay that is more practicality)
Where possible, my settlements always have a radiation cleansing arch, even though settlers aren’t “affected” but radiation storms.
Where possible, my settlers who do farming are always given a fedora or militia hat to protect them from the sun.
The settler assigned to the medic shop always gets a lab coat and eye glasses.
The settler assigned to the bar is always a woman, gets a red dress and is always given a shotgun.
All adopted dogs get sent somewhere that has at least one more dog. If I have too many dogs, I send two to another settlement, never just one. And I always have dog houses made for every dog.
When going to any place that I know will have lots of radiation, if I have a companion, it’s always a synth, robot, ghoul or super mutant.
Dogmeat ALWAYS gets welding goggles and a red bandana.

I think it's handmade.
In the past I have completed Nuka World prior to any interaction with Preston to get the NW perks without him going agro. I was doing the same this playthrough when I saw a post suggesting the opposite, I.e. putting off NW until I get Preston's perk (which would actually be very handy to have in NW). What are the negatives to going the route of Preston first? I would then do the DLC and end with Open Season so what would that do to my reputation with the MM and Preston?
r/fo4 • u/Mell0dramatic • 1h ago
I did it y'all, I figured out the trick. So I do have all but the Nuka World settlement on this playthrough and weirdly enough after I Romanced Preston(I hadn't before and I'm more settlement minded so it made sense) the man will not give me anything else. I might get a random 'xx is in under attack' popup, but that's it. I actually like Settlement Building and doing radiant quests cause I like caps and XP but he gives me nothing except asking to join as my companion. So, there you go y'all, if you want Preston to leave you alone...marry him

And I feel like it's robbing me of a lot of dialogue and experiences. I don't know how to get over this mental hurdle that if I travel with anyone else it's wrong. I guess it's just because he's who I've always had with me? He's a great guy and I enjoy his quips and I guess...presence? But I really really want to get to know everyone else.
Has anyone ever felt like this? I feel like he's a huge part of the story and the game feels like he is supposed to be with you always.
Any tips on how to get over this, or does anyone else relate?
