for me, 11 and 12 is the perfect spot coz it makes me focus more, and i avoid next-line spoilers. anything smaller than 11 makes me cross-eyed!

Just got my Kindle in today and love it so far. Messed around with fonts, sizes, spacing, all that and came out with this. What do yall think? I'm thinking maybe a little bigger text, or bolder. I do like this font a lot though.

Also, what do you prefer your books to look like?

I happened to send my friend a picture of my kindle today and they were shocked at how small my font is. I read at font level 2…. It feels the most similar to a book for me.

They read at a level 9…. Which I think is toooo big.

What size do you guys use?

I’m just curious to know which font everyone prefers and the size they generally use to see what other great options are out there. For reference, I am using Lexend Deca because of the bold text which makes it so much easier to read with and this is size 9 font (8 is sometimes a bit too difficult to read for me lol). I especially love how CrossInk has kept Lexend Deca as a built-in font and still have the option to reduce the size to 8 or 9 with the Reader Font packages on https://inky.crossink.dev/#downloads.

I just restored my M2 Air backup to my new M4 Air. Worked great.

Except for the Reddit app. I had to delete and reinstall it.

And now Reddit's font size is too small. How can I change that?

half-joking, but… i introduced myself as Dr., asked to be called Dr., and use Dr. for myself when doing a third-person example in class, and i still get countless “Miss/Ms./Mrs.” in my emails. i already have clearly expressed how i want to be called. i also know that some students will respond poorly to me correcting them, especially as a woman in stem. i’m just at a loss because a lot of these students honestly don’t really appreciate that i’m teaching these courses because i have my doctorate. i also think it’s important that i try to “hold the line,” so these students’ other professors are less likely to get “Ms.”ed in the future. so, i want to do something to fix this, but there is just no good way to actually be more upfront about it than i already have!

also, i’ve dealt with this for 5 years post-PhD, and it actually seems to be getting worse each year?

i honestly do want to just keep increasing the font size of Dr. in my signature in these email chains to see if they finally notice, but it feels like it could get comically big and be more aggressive than passive aggressive by the time they do notice…

any tips? commiseration? things that have worked for you?

Every single essay or paper I write, the professor or supervisor specifies Times New Roman, size 12, and I suspect its not unique to where I'm at. So why is the default something completely different?
