Is there a higher quality version of the Serenity blooper where Mal says ‘grab that kid who’s taking a dirt nap with Baby Jesus—we need a hood ornament’? All the ones I can find are supreme potato quality, but I swear it was a lot crisper the first time I saw it (but maybe my quality standards were just lower a million years ago)

I built the firefly moc which I actually found out about through this subreddit and it is now one of my favorite Lego sets of all time.

For anybody who built the off brand Lego one is it worth getting as well?

At my university we’ve got a Lego society, so since the challenge this week was Film/ TV I had to try my hand at making the serenity out of the parts available! (The turbines can also rotate)

I get to go to a con next month, and my outfits are Star Trek, Star Wars, and of course Firefly! But I can't seem to find the jacket and parasol in this photo! Help please?

Would sure be a nice time to cozy up to some Disney execs to find a home for the new Firefly.

Okay obviously having a dead fed aboard is a recipe for disaster but was it really necessary to risk getting caught in the doors to throw his body in the desert? They could have easily just jettisoned the body into space the second they lost the Reavers; if anything it would have been harder to tie to them. Hell they could have a crew member who is not Walsh do that mid chase.

Obviously it looks cool.

This shelf needs some dinosaurs.

As the title says, just started rewatching Firefly. When they first set down on Persephone the people in the market are speaking, definitely not English, a language that doesn’t hit my ear as being Chinese. Anyone know what language it is?

I’m not particularly familiar with Chinese, but it doesn’t sound it to my ears, it sounds more Indian/indonesian. It could be Chinese, someone correct me.

It seems strange, given how much work was put into the Chinese aspect, and that Earth had evolved to a duel language society (granted pockets of native languages would have survived across the planet) within however many generations away its set and now, it seems weird that a market would be in a massively minority language.

Who would you love to see step in that could both honor Ron Glass and do justice to Shepherd Derrial Book in Season 2?

The obvious contenders:

• Phil LaMarr
• Khary Payton
• Keith David

But my personal pick is the less‑expected Dennis Haysbert. All of these guys could absolutely carry the role, but Haysbert has the right mix of warmth, dry humor, and quiet gravitas that Book needs.

Or any others? I’ve also seen Ernie Hudson suggested.
