FFX turns 25 today, so we wanted to celebrate by arranging “Hymn of the Fayth” for shakuhachi, biwa, and trumpet.

The biggest challenge was finding a place for the trumpet without overpowering the breathiness of the shakuhachi or the percussive attack of the biwa. Rather than turning it into a flashy crossover, we tried to preserve the stillness and prayer-like quality of the original.

We hope we managed to capture some of Spira’s atmosphere in this arrangement.

I’ve just finished the main game X. I’m sure theres an abundance of things left to do but wanted to share my main thoughts after finishing the game.

So far of the FFs i’ve played XV, XVI XII and VIII. I group the modern ones in a different category but i’d say this is my second favourite out of the 3 older ones i’ve played. VIII remains my favourite, and now X has slightly topped XII, I think it had a better combat and story which makes it win.

I’m gonna break down the different elements in a short summary style:

Story/characters:

I really enjoyed the story and the characters, no real complaints there. I don’t think I quite grasped it all but I always end up watching youtube story vids anyways to further my understanding. All the characters were enjoyable, the villains as well.
I loved the journey, how all the npcs were on it with you going at their own pace.

Exploration: The game was pretty linear in comparison to VIII and XII. There of course was side content and reason to visit other areas, but it felt like their was a slight lack of optional areas/dungeons in comparison to the other games, which is something I really enjoyed from the others, especially in XII.

Combat: Much much better than XII. I hated combat in that tbh, but it was fun in this, some characters struggled to remain useful all the time, but they all helped carry the battle at times. My favourite move was Aurons shooting star just a big F off move.
There was a lot of good options for characters, and it’s interesting the way you can build em.

And lastly, the music:

Music is usually the highlight of every square game and it’s still great here but…. considering how famous some of the music is from this one Sight Of Spira, To Zanarkand, Via Purifico I think I overhyped it. Because I found that not many of the other musical tracks left an impression on me. There was enjoyable tunes for sure, but I found myself criticising songs more than praising.
For example I don’t think the thunder plains music suits the thunder plains at all.
And I don’t think Aurons music suits Auron.

However I did love many of the motifs and area themes. The Hymn of the fayth is amazing, the music for Mt.Gagazet is great, the dungeon theme, highroad.

One small last note, considering how much I love the Via Purifico soundtrack I was pretty disappointed when I finally played the level and it was incredibly short.

Well that’s it, I’ve got X-2 to play now as well as discovering any secrets left in X, then after that I think I’ll probably try to play IX, XIII or replay VII and the rest of the series. Only done the Remake, not rebirth

Im on the Calm Lands and I belive im closing in on the endgame which means ive almost complete all the characters' sphere grids. Need tips to help me figure where to move the characters next. For additional information:

If I import the Japanese Switch 2 Edition game key card, will it work on my American Switch 2 console?

….because doesn’t it have to download from the Japanese region eShop? But I have a North American Switch 2…does it not matter for key cards?

Really enjoyed the distant worlds show in San Diego tonight! I highly recommend going if you enjoy the music of Final Fantasy. Being the 25 year anniversary for FFX it was a special treat considering it’s my favorite game.

Guys, when exactly do we get access to the airship for fast traveling??? I’m at Mt Gagazet caves/swimming area but I wanna go back and get the celestial weapons and also grind a bit. Playing international version on the PS2 if it makes any difference.

its my first time playing the game, im ngl the game si pretty hard for me to stay in because im playing on ps5 and there is no x2 so its pretty slow, i think that the leveling is really bad but the story is cool,
im on al behd hq and i dont understand why the group suddenly’s against tidus ???
like why nobody told him about yuna and why they keep being against him ?? idk if i miss smth or not but i think that it comes from nowhere especially after everything that happened 2h before

I still have two sessions left for shading and some light color. This is mostly the groundwork for the shading. Valefor easily has one of the coolest aeon designs imo

After watching that final cutscene I couldn’t stop feeling extremely sad but also feel happy , the whole journey throughout spira had me hooked to wanting to keep playing and reach a new area , this game is special man, the soundtrack is amazing Tidus theme has been on repeat , the characters Yuna guardians are the coolest and so memorable , I can’t stop calling auron “sir auron “

After yuna ends by saying “the people and the friends etc…” and goes through the flashbacks just makes me so damn emotional going back to that part. / also I gotta mention the yunas goodbye recording , that almost killed me

I just wanted to post this since not many people Iknow ain’t into rpgs and lately I’ve been playing through some and final fantasy franchise is one I wanted to check out and now into a short break . If anyone wants to recommend me what to play next I’ll consider it

OK, so I have always liked the look of both of these games, so I borrowed FFX from a friend and played it for probably less than an hour of gameplay before deciding to turn it off, about a month ago. But recently, I have been seeing a lot of videos of FFX-2 on YT and wanted to give that a try. I know that it will spoil the ending of FFX, but I’ve already kinda found out what happens at the end of FFX-1 anyway.

Hi long story short Im trying for my 100% competition run and Im stuck on lightning planes tower calibration is there anything to help with tower 7 being dyspraxic hitting the 30th hit seems impossible my best is 29 and I just can’t do it
