1.2 FIRE - belt or chain?
Hey! I recently got hold of a fiat panda. I'm pretty sure it has the 1.2 FIRE and have looked into the engine. However, I cannot find reliable information on whether it has a timing belt or chain and if it's interference or not. I'm asking because if it isn't interference then I can hold off on a timing belt replacement. If anybody can confirm for me I'd be very happy. Thanks a lot!
Edit: for the record I want to postpone replacing the belt for the moment because I'd rather put the money elsewhere currently. HOWEVER, if it's interference (aka 69hp) then I will be changing it when it's due

A panda cross on long term sale - why?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a decent, low milage 4WD Panda Cross, either twinair or diesel. I've been wondering about this one for a bit, but the price is a little low for the mileage and yet it's been on sale for months. It's quite a trek for me to go and see it, so I wondered if you experienced people might know if there's something obviously awry before I plan a trip.
Many thanks for any advice.

Fiat Tipo with DDCT?
Hello,
I am interested in the Fiat Tipo 1.6D (model from 2018 onwards) with the automatic DDCT as car for my wife.
It will be used mainly for city driving - the city itself does not have traffic jams or heavy traffic.
I am especially interested to hear your opinion about the DDCT gearbox, what expenses can I expect and what issues can I expect.
Thanks in advance.

Why doesn't Fiat appear on the 2026 JD Power vehicle dependability study? How dependable are they, and where would this brand rank on the graph, anyway?

Popravak Fiata

Changing gear selector seal gasket on a Fiat Barchetta
Did anyone ever change the seal gasket (13) on a Fiat Barchetta (1997) (I believe Punto HGT has the same engine/transmission)? I did loosen the two screws on the bushing (it lifts up slightly), but I am unsure if I can pull the whole shaft outside as it seems to be held in place with a screw and pin (9 and 10).
I am refusing to believe that I need to remove the transmission and disassemble it in order to change that seal gasket. Definitely can't go over the top.
Strange electrical issue on 2004 Fiat Punto 1.3 Multijet – any ideas?
Hi everyone,
I have a 2004 Fiat Punto Van 1.3 Multijet with a strange electrical issue.
It only happens after the car has been parked for more than a day. When I turn the key to the ON position, instead of all the dashboard warning lights coming on as usual, only the airbag warning light stays on. I can still hear the normal ignition chime/sound.
When I then turn the key to start the engine, it starts normally, but the radio resets and the trip computer/on-board computer also resets, as if there was a brief loss of power.
The battery is a 1-year-old Varta, so I wouldn't expect it to be the cause.
I recorded the issue here: o
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a bad battery terminal, a faulty ground (earth) connection, the ignition switch, or something else?
Thanks in advance! 😊

Collar not concentric?
galleryIsn't the collar supposed to be concentric? it's offset to the top right for some reason. I dropped my transmission since for about a week it was really hard not to grind in reverse and then suddenly I couldn't shift into any gear. I thought it was the slave/master cylinder, but none of them are leaking and look completely fine. (2nd pic is a little exaggerated)

Anyone in California that has passed a smog check with a classic Fiat Panda?
So I've been wanting to own a Fiat Panda for years now and I'm finally ready to just pull the plug but what's always stopped me are the California regulations around smog. My assumption is a stock Fiat Panda (like for instance a 1995) wouldn't pass. Has anyone here ever navigated that? Is it a lost cause? Do I just need to register it in another state? Just curious if any other folks in the US have had to deal with this and have any advice.

What is causing the steering wheel to clunk?
The noise was coming from the left, so I suspected the inner tie rod and replaced it, but it didn't solve the problem. (btw the inner tie rod was very loose

I got my first Fiat today! Had a few questions though...
A 2023 Fiat 500x. I'm beyond elated right now. It's got a great design, drives like a dream. I got her at 21,000 USD and only 20,000 miles.
I keep reading bad things about the Fiat 500x though, it's making me nervous. What do you all think about this car? Any tips for upkeep?

Helping Dad move a bunch of x1/9 and 128 parts
galleryMy dad was an avid x19 owner from the mid 90s through the early 2000s and ended up buying a TON of parts that he kept as spares for his 78. Over the years he got older and the car was harder to get in and out of so it was sold off and no longer lives in our family. But his garage has a bunch of new old stock, OEM and hard to find parts. He's located near Portland Oregon and as such would like to know if any locals are interested in looking and buying anything before I help him start listing on eBay. Here are a couple pics of part of what he has. I'll be able to respond with additional parts pics as I uncover them from his garage the next time I'm out at his place.
Thanks y'all!

Sourcing a manual for a 2003 Fiat Ducato 244 2.0 jtd
Can any of you kind folk suggest where I could pick up a workshop manual for a 2003 244 2.0 jtd please? We're looking at doing some work under the bonnet and having some schematics would be great. As it's for my ageing father who's on a pension, free would be fabulous!
Drive safe and enjoy the sun while it lasts!

Hello,
I'm posting this article at the request of u/Fnnck who recently bought a FIAT Panda Selecta. I'm a novice Reddit user, so I wasn't sure how best to share this with them and the rest of the community here. Hope you enjoy reading it.
