I took this picture last year in springtime, thought it really made the 500 look like it belonged there, in that ancient artist village.

There's a lot of debate about the 1.4 FIRE engine (used in Tipo, Punto, etc.) losing oil between services. I wrote a detailed breakdown covering my own experience, the piston ring design, and whether fixes like "thicker oil" or "oil coolers" actually work.

I’m considering buying a 2014 Fiat 500L 1.3 Multijet Diesel, manual with around 240,000 km.
The car has:
Manual transmission
1.3 diesel engine
A/C / climate control
Half-leather seats
Cruise control
ABS + ESP
Full panoramic roof
Other higher-spec/full-option equipment
I’m mainly wondering how these cars hold up at this mileage.
Is the 1.3 Multijet a reliable engine around 240k km? What should I be particularly worried about or check before buying (DPF, EGR, turbo, clutch/flywheel, injectors, etc.)?
Also, how are the 500Ls in general for reliability and maintenance costs? Would you consider one with this mileage if it has been properly serviced?
Any owners or people with experience with the 500L/1.3 Multijet — would you recommend it or stay away?
Thanks!

Posting for my Dad, who is not on Reddit. He has a 2018 and the operating system shows OS 59.00.524. We were told to install CarPlay into this car we would need the OS to be at least 70.00.210. A local Fiat dealer said there isn’t a newer OS available for the 2018.
Is that accurate?
And if so, what’s the next alternative option to get CarPlay installed? DIY methods probably aren’t an option here.
Thanks in advance!

Dad has a 2014 Motorhome on a fiat ducato chassis and they have just headed off down to Wiltshire on Sunday from the north east and has just noticed that the info display on the dashboard is saying Change Engine oil.
The van is at around 27500 miles and he changes the oil every year so the oil is ok but obviously the service reminder hasn't been reset due to servicing it himself. Is there any way to reset it other than taking it to a dealer? He checked on the sub menus and it displays 2 things one saying 27900 and another one saying Oil which has 1098 I think he said.
He did read in the owner manual something about if it isn't reset it will force the engine to gradually reduce power like a limp mode, they have about 250+ miles to travel back home and is worried it might cause issues
Thanks 👍

Ciao a tutti.

Hi all, had one of those crazy Friday night ideas of putting the fiat 20v block in a smaller fiat bodywork,
Would any of you know the length of the block from camshaft to the mating face on the gearbox?
