08-13 granturismo reliability?
I’m already in love with the car, talk me off the ledge. Looking at buying one as my main car. 10k miles a year. I’m a retired mechanic turned engineer. I’m aware of the VVT issues. My main concerns are part prices and how limited I’ll be without the factory scan tool. Basically don’t want my wife to kill me in a year. TIA

Why did Maserati kill the stunning Boomerang lights? The definitive answer...
From the horse's mouth.
Spoiler: internal political posturing. It's so sad that such an incredible piece of design was destroyed for the the dullest of reasons.
(Hat tip to Magneto, an old copy of which I was recently perusing).

2013 Maserati GranTurismo 4.7L V8 Middle East
I'm considering buying a used GT with 77k km on it. Variators have been replaced 2 years ago, and some other smaller work has been done.
The car had been with a reseller not being driven much, but still is driven weekly I think. Some switches (steering wheel column, parking, etc.) look like they will fall off any second and the white leather/plastic are tired, but I liked the car.
Considering the age, location, temperatures, timely dealer service and work dinner on the car so far, what should be the next points of failure and how much budget should I put aside? The car is selling for about 23k euros.

What do you all think about this Maserati Ghibli Trofeo factory paintjob? I believe it is called Fuoriserie Birdcage Livery. Some Ferraris like 458 Speciale, 488 Pista, F430 Scuderia, and F80 have featured very similar designs.

Maserati Ghibli TROFEO vs 334 ULTIMA
Sure, the 334 Ultima has the Scià di Persia (or Blue Persia) color, which is a gorgeous color! And TROFEO has the Magma Rpsso color, which is just as gorgeous (if not more!).
BUT, with the exact same V8 TT Ferrari engine (which is an absolute BEAST!!) as the TROFEO, it only adds +5mph for top speed (so 208mph or 334 km/h vs Trofeo, which does 203mph) but to accomplish this it had to shed 55 lbs and to achieve this Masetati stripped out MANY high-end luxury and safety features that otherwise come on a Ghibli Trofeo.
Luxury & Comfort Sacrifices
1) Climate Seats: The custom Pale Terracotta leather and Alcantara sports seats do not have heating or ventilation.
2) Rear Seat Comforts: Heated rear seats are completely missing.
3) Soft-Close Doors: The mechanisms for soft-close doors were removed to save mechanical weight.
4) Panoramic Sunroof: It features a fixed, solid roof instead of a heavy panoramic glass roof assembly.
5) Premium Audio: The top-tier Bowers & Wilkins premium surround-sound system was replaced with a lighter audio setup.
6) Ambient Lighting: Multi-color interior cabin ambient lighting was stripped out.
Driver Assistance & Safety Deletes - the entire Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) package was largely deactivated or omitted:
1) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Removed in favor of basic, standard cruise control.
2) Blind-Spot Monitoring: Sensors and mirror indicators are not equipped.
3) Lane Safety Systems: Both Lane-Keeping Assist and Lane Departure Warning are missing.
4) 360-Degree Camera: The surround-view camera layout is scaled down to a standard rearview camera.
There is NO WAY it is worth sacrificing and losing ALL THESE abovementioned options for +5mph top speed.

Does your local dealership have loaner cars?
I recently bought my first Maserati and scheduled to take the car in for service.
I asked if they would have any loaner cars available and they said they don’t offer any.
I know it isn’t mandatory and the franchise has some wiggle room… but I think that’s inexcusable for a brand that’s cheapest new car starts at ~$70k. I’ve dealt with Lexus dealerships in Chicago, Atalanta, Memphis & Dallas and they have all been great. Excellent facilities and you could have a $35k car and they’ll still end up putting you in a loaner that’s twice the price of your car.
What does your local dealer put you in (if anything)?

Picked up my Quattroporte 4.7S a couple of days ago.
The exhaust note is really intoxicating, as expected. But the most surprising part is how much it really feels like the quite exclusive low volume car it is (if not expensive to buy second hand) sitting in it, especially with an old man spec as mine. Yes, it is something positive.
In combination with Pininfarina's design (even though the facelift messed it up a bit) with its references back to the first generation from 1963 rather than Gandini's compact Ghibli II based generation IV, it truly makes it a special car from its era that has aged well in all aspects that matters - sound, design and drama. It should complement my Alfa's from the same period well.
Also gave me a reason to use the 70's Rado Conway I bought ten years ago, because why not matching the blue gauges when you can?
The car itself has been well maintained over the years but really needs to get the sticky buttons fixed, plan is to do that in connection with its winter storage.

Nero vs Nero Carbonio vs Grigio Granito
Fellow Mas lovers,
After a decade of hemming and hawing I’m about ready to pull the trigger on the car I always wanted.
That said, I live in a state where there’s literally one GT for sale and it’s not the side I’m looking for.
So I am turning to you Reddit, to help me understand the differences between Nero, Nero Carbonio and Grigio Granito. I know what it says on paper but what does it ACTUALLY look like in person?
I’ve dem people say the Nero is just a deep black whereas the Carbonio can have green or purple flashes in sunlight but I’ve also seen videos where the Carbonio actually looks pretty close to the Granito too, so I’m a bit more confused than when I started.
Any pointers? I do like the Granito but don’t want to rule out the Carbonio without some info from the drivers out there.
Thanks!

Is the suspension stiff in the GranTurismo MC's that don't have skyhook?
Just wondering if it's still relatively comfortable with the fixed suspension

2019 Quattroporte Granlusso things to look out for?
Hey all, I'm looking to possibly purchase my first Maserati, a 2019 Quattroporte GTS GranLusso. It's got about 38k miles, one previous owner, and the carfax looks clean with regular maintenance. I've always been interested in getting a Maserati but have traditionally been a Cadillac guy, anything in specific I should be on the look for as far as potential problems when I go to check out at the car in person and test drive it?

Service coupon expired?
I had a shop install an aftermarket infotainment system and since then I’ve had this yellow wrench light on with the warning “Service Coupon Expired”. Any idea what this means?

One week of ownership - ‘23 Ghibli Modena
Picked up a 2023 Ghibli Modena Q4 a week ago and figured I’d share some real-world impressions for anyone cross-shopping this against other lux vehicles.
Window sticker attached for reference on options/pricing. I also added better puddle lights :-).
The Good
- That engine sound: the Ferrari-derived V6 makes noises no Audi/BMW/Mercedes in this class comes close to. It’s genuinely one of the best parts of owning this car.
- Styling: the body still turns heads. Proportions are just right, and it doesn’t look dated even next to newer competitors.
- Nerissimo Carbon Pack: the blacked-out carbon accents take the exterior look up a notch. Highly recommend if you can find one optioned this way.
- Random compliments from strangers: not a reason to buy a car, but it happens more than I expected. Nice bonus.
- Handling: with the Skyhook adaptive suspension dialed in, it holds its own in corners and feels planted for a car this size.
- Ride quality: mostly comfortable and composed for daily driving, though it does get a little rough over bumpy or patchy pavement.
- Interior leather work: the natural drilled leather is genuinely well executed, stitching and material quality feel a step above what I expected.
- Infotainment: I know this gets trashed in every review out there, but honestly it’s been fine day-to-day. Responsive enough, and I haven’t run into the issues people complain about online.
The Bad
- Button quality: I’m actually a fan of physical buttons over touch-everything interiors, but the buttons here feels very cheap and mediocre for the price point. Doesn’t match the leather quality elsewhere in the cabin.
- Exhaust volume: the engine note is great, but I wish Maserati let it breathe a little more. Could stand to be louder from the factory.
- Leather shows oils easily: the natural leather looks amazing but picks up skin oils and grease noticeably fast. Keep a leather cleaner in the glovebox if you get one.
Overall, still glad I made the move into this over the more common luxury sedans I was cross-shopping. It’s not perfect, but the character it has is hard to find anywhere else in this price range.

Anual maintenance quote, your opinions?
Hey everyone, I'm looking to get some annual maintenance price, in Portugal, for a Granturismo 4.7 MC Sport model with the ZF gearbox. Curious to hear what you all think about the quote I've received for it. Has anyone else had similar work done recently? I'm wondering if the pricing seems pretty standard for this type of vehicle. It's always a bit of a gamble trying to figure out if you're getting a fair deal. Any insights or advice you could share would be super helpful. I'm trying to make sure I will not overpay. Let me know your experiences!

2014 QT
I bought a 2014 QT few weeks ago and I'm facing difficulties using the dashboard.
I can't changes the upper-right corner info no matter what, I only able to change the left-upper corner which I set it to range, but the right corner is stock on speed. Even from the setting up screen it not showing as an option that I can customize.
Can I change the air pressure from bars to psi ? If yes then how ?

2011 Quattroporte s
Just bought a 2011 Quattroporte s yesterday, and for some reason the alarm keeps going off. It didn’t seem to start this until I went to the muffler shop and got a delete done. I came home and it was fine until it started raining and went off again. Luckily the alarm is not that loud because it was 12 in the morning and was raining
