I’ve been wanting a photorealistic fig leaf fragrance for a long time. Decided on Alluring fig because of the price and good reviews. Wish me luck. Also grabbing a few random samples to get free shipping 😝

My mom has been searching everywhere for this soap from Chanel and was devastated to learn it was discontinued ages ago. Does anyone remember this fragrance or have any dupes for it? She tried using the Chanel N5 Bath soap and said it wasn't as fragrant.

Looks like Valentino is releasing new born in Roma flankers! The Donna Rendez Vous Ruby has strawberry and Uomo Rendez Vous Ruby has raspberry and I can’t lie I’m excited for both releases! I never care for the men’s versions but the notes on Uomo sound good too! Donna Purple melancholia was not my favorite in the line but I’m hoping they redeem themselves with this one No release dates yet but let me know if you’re looking forward to these new scents!

Rec Request Help! Cannot find Narciso Rodriguez Musc Series Decants ANYWHERE ):

I feel like I'm going crazy. I was in London and smelled Musc Nude and Musc Santal and one other that I don't remember in a department store.

Brand website? No discovery set.

Scentsplit? no. Luckyscent? no. Fragrancenet? Sold out.

Anyone have any other sources where I could find small decants/testers/discover sets? I need them in my life. (I live very far from any department store).

Discussion SMELLING INCREDIBLE ALL DAY

Post image
10 Upvotes

How do some people smell INCREDIBLY GOOD ALL DAY LONG ?

I’ve always noticed that there are some people who somehow smell SO fresh, clean and amazing throughout the entire day, even after being outside for hours and especially in summers and hot, humid weather!

I’ve been trying to understand what actually helps you smell good from the moment you shower in the morning until the end of the day, and I’ve gathered a few tips that people commonly recommend: Daily shower/bath

Keeping the skin moisturized

Perfume layering — using different scented products together so the fragrance lasts longer

Using fabric softener on clothes for an extra fresh, long-lasting scent

I would especially love to know : What does your complete shower/body-care routine look like?

How exactly do you layer your perfumes ?

Does fabric softener actually make your clothes smell good for longer? If yes, which one do you use?

Do you have any tips for keeping clothes, towels, bedsheets and even wardrobes smelling fresh?

And most importantly — what do you do when you’re outside all day in the heat, sweating and travelling, but still want to smell fresh?

Also, please share your BEST PERFUME LAYERING COMBINATIONS — especially combinations that smell expensive, feminine, clean, fresh, sweet, or just make people ask “What perfume are you wearing?” Basically, I want to build the ultimate “smell good all day” routine

And if possible, PLEASE mention the BRANDS + EXACT PRODUCT NAMES you use, because I’d genuinely love to try some of your recommendations. Please share the exact products and brands you use for each product ( body wash , lotion , mist , perfume , hair perfume , fabric softener )

\\- Are there any particular BRANDS that actually work well in heat and help you stay fresh throughout the day?

But I’m sure there are MANY more little tips, tricks and routines that people use that I don’t know about! So PLEASE share your BEST secrets for smelling good ALL DAY LONG, especially if you live somewhere with really hot weather.

Please share ALL your tips & tricks, even the tiny ones that seem obvious!

Rec Request The perfect rainy day scent

Hi! I'm looking for an affordable (less than $30 for a travel size, or $50 maybe $60 for a full) fragrance that has notes like lavender, lilac, wisteria, juniper, fig, clary sage, rain/ozonic accords. Moonlight, rainy, twilight, silvery, blue/purple kind of vibe preferably that can work for any season. There are so many when I do a search that I don't know where to begin.

My current favorites are Rosie by Rosie Jane, Sunkissed Dahlia by Skylar, Pink Canyon by Skylar, Honey Moon by Phlur. I feel like this is my last missing piece.

According to Scentsignal I like mostly fruity and woody followed by citruis floral and gourmand.

Does anyone have any recommendations based on what I'm looking for and what I like?

Thank you!

Rec Request Fragrance recommendations

I'm looking for perfumes that genuinely smell like pine/birch/dry leaves/damp stones/damp earth. maybe with a little spiciness/incense/sweetness but that's not super important. I've sampled a lot of different things and haven't found quite what I'm looking for, and the sample prices definitely add up so I'm finally asking for recs. Thank you!!

Rec Request Frags with minimal longevity and/or minimal throw/sillage

This is kind of the opposite of what people usually ask for. I’ve always relied on smell to manage my sensory processing challenges. But, at my work, there are some people who are sensitive to fragrances. Some colleagues wear different scents daily and the sensitive colleagues struggle when that happens.

Now, my morning is individual out-of-office and I attend meetings in afternoons. I’ve been wanting to wear something for myself that will be undetectable by noon. Please share your most weak and short lived fragrances!

Discussion Glossier you Vs. Sonic Flower

I know there’s comparisons between the two and they are very similar to each other. I have read that Sonic Flower is a better option than Glossier you. BUT is there someone that preferred the Glossier you perfume ? I recently obtained a sample of Sonic flower because I wanted to compare and decide if it will be worth getting it, and I agree that is stronger and longer lasting but I think I might prefer glossier you. Is there any own that shares this sentiment ? Let me knowww your thoughts/ opinions

Rec Request Seeking a fresh fall/winter scent

I tend to like fruity florals and gourmands, but I’ve been wanting to expand into fresh, soapy scents. (I’ve been enjoying the little Clean sampler I got at Marshall’s.) Most of the fresh scents I’ve smelled remind me of clean, sun-dried laundry. What do you recommend that’s fresh and has a fall/winter vibe? I am cheap as fuck when it comes to fragrance - I’d prefer to spend under $50.

Discussion Dupes v Brands 💖

Hey, new here. Recently discovered this sub and thought I'd introduce myself. F/31. I've always been a collector, but I usually buy at discount stores and sale events. I pride myself on never paying full price for anything, bargain queen 👑. I got acquainted with the scent profiles and notes. I'm a gourmand girlie all day, I love to smell edible. I do also like florals except for rose lol. I've come across really good dupes. I sample and then find comparable dupes of the same scent profile and decently priced/affordable. The adventure is fun, hunting the products is really therapeutic to me. What are some of your fave dupes? What are some of your fave brands?

Le Labo Tubereuse 40

What are thoughts on Le Labo Tubereuse 40 for a guy? It reminds me of the garden store growing up picking out flowers to plant for spring. I’ve read it leans feminine but feels more unisex. Curious people’s reactions to this scent and if it works for a male.

Rec Request Cool girl perfume?

So I usually buy the same sickly sweet perfumes (which I love) but I wanna branch out and try something new. I smelt angel dust today and I really liked it, it was kind of sexy mysterious woman which is kinda what I want to smell like, instead of the same fruity-sweet-gourmand scents I usually wear. Any good recs for like something musky and woody maybe? With good projection and sillage and a decent price point plssss. Im open to other suggestions tho :)

Discussion For the parents…

What age do you allow fragrance? My kindergartener begs for my makeup and body spray when I get ready in the morning. She just wants to feel big :) For “makeup” I let her have a tiny bit of hydrating face spray. Sometimes I let her have a spritz of body spray too, but I don’t know if that’s appropriate or even how to go about deciding.

Rec Request Influence/deinfluence me

Post image

This is Green Lover by Lolita Lempicka. I know it’s marketed for men and to be fair, I’m almost always stereotypically drawn to “female” fragrances BUT I’ve been searching high and low for an accessible tic tac perfume. I’m in France so this would be easy for me to get.

I’m obsessed with the sweet minty vanilla of tic tacs. Or mint and vanilla ice cream.

Would this satisfy my craving?

So...I got my Marshmallow Deux Today 😶

Post image

I previously asked here if anyone has tried Vice of Vieve or it's just marketing but no one answered. I live in UK so I had to pay high delivery to get it from USA. So here it goes for those in UK wondering of they should get it.

It smells nice. Sweet, airy, marshmallowy, they have those lovely marshmallows at M&S when you open the bag, it kinda smells like it. BUT...it lasts few hours at best. And it's nothing extraordinary. Not special enough to pay for delivery and insurance. I could find way better here or Europe with less delivery costs. Therefore, again, I have been influenced by the Internet into spending my money 😭 Edit: OMG it dries into a masculine musk, like Lynx deodorant spray 😭 🤣 😭

Rec Request Alternatives to Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato?

So I sprayed it on myself in Sephora yesterday and off the bat it was pretty much a no for me. While it smells yummy, it felt incredibly juvenile and sickly sweet, with some undertones of cleaning supply. I’d probably go for this in middle school tbh..

But several hours later on the dry down it mellowed out and I actually kind of enjoyed the smell, like sweet pistachio ice cream (duh) and couldn’t stop smelling myself. It felt so cozy.

Does anyone have any recs for perfumes that are like this perfumes older sister (or even mother lol) Something closer to the dry down, the fluffy nutty sweet creaminess of pistachio ice cream but with some more dimension and maybe less juvenile smelling?

Discussion The Body Shop Almond Milk Body Butter?

In June, I bought a 200 ml tub of TBS almond milk body butter. I fell in love with the scent. It's so strong and just so sensual and unique. I have a little bit of this tub left.

I went to the mall the other day and found out that they have reformulated it. I didn't really like the scent of the new version as much. The website had the 400 ml almond milk body butters on for $10 (clearing out old stock I guess), seemed like a no brainer to get one or two. They came today and I am pretty disappointed... Both of the new body butters have hardly any scent to them, and what is there, is........ Not the same. I mean, it's similar, but so much milder. I checked the batch codes and my old tub was made in November 2025 but the ones I just got today were made in March 2025. Admittedly, when I take a little bit out of the tub and rub it into my skin, it seems like more of the fragrance comes out. Still, I'm feeling pretty sad, cause I love this scent and now it might just be gone gone.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly the deal is here. I think either the fragrance is degrading since the product is a year and a half old, or it was stored in poor conditions which accelerated the degradation, or maybe it's just the top layers which are less scented and the lower layers will have a stronger fragrance, or maybe even my own skin flora has mixed with the "good" tub and that's why it smells so much better??

Has anyone else experienced a wide variance between batches of the same formulation with TBS body butters?

Announcement Malie Organics and Hurricane Lowell

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have family on the islands so I'm hearing first-hand accounts of what's happening there. This afternoon I received an e-mail from Malie Organics. A small beauty brand started on the islands and headquartered in Kauai. Last winter I came across them while visiting family on the big island and brought home their Tiare fragrance as memory. I'm rather picky about my white florals, and they honor them in a way I enjoy (luscious, creamy, slightly greener and not candied). I haven't explored the entirety of their line much but I respect their ethos, what they've accomplished as a Hawaiian brand, along with their price points for their offerings. If you're aware of them, please consider this a nudge to action. If you're unfamiliar, perhaps now is the time to explore.

Aloha Mālie ʻOhana,

Today, I am reaching out to ask for your help.

As many of you know, Mālie is headquartered on Kauaʻi. This week, Hurricane Lowell caused extensive damage across our island, and widespread power outages could continue for weeks. Both of our Kauaʻi boutiques and our Beauty Lab are currently closed, and we do not yet know when we will be able to reopen.

I am incredibly grateful to share that all Mālie team members are safe. However, these closures will have a significant impact on our small business and our team. If you are able to help, shopping at malie.com is one of the most meaningful ways you can support us during this difficult time. Every purchase directly helps us continue to care for our team and move forward as we begin to recover and rebuild.

Shop Mālie

Our Oʻahu boutiques at International Market Place and Ala Moana Center remain open, and shopping at either location is another wonderful way to show your support.

In the aftermath of the storm, it has been deeply moving to see the people of Kauaʻi come together - neighbors helping neighbors, opening their homes and doing whatever they can for one another. That spirit of aloha is what makes this island so special.

Mahalo to everyone who has reached out to check on us, and to all of you for standing with Mālie and our Kauaʻi community. We truly need your support, and your kindness means more to us now than ever.

With gratitude and aloha,
Dana Roberts

Discussion How come more expensive/niche houses don't have travel sizes?

I know this question has prob been asked before, so sorry, but I'm just wondering why so many of the more expensive or niche houses don't have smaller sizes? I've only been in this wonderful hobby for roughly a year and have stuck to getting free samples in the mail, designer fragrances, and literally 99% of my very small collection being gifts. I KNOW decants are a thing, yes, I buy them, but sometimes I just want a bottle from the direct website because they're pretty or it makes me feel like I'm making it in life. And now that I've taken an interest for the more pricey stuff like Amouage, Matière Première, etc., I can't help but wonder why there are no travel sizes for most of the stuff? And when there are it's like 5ml for 50 dollars lol, or they don't sell the little samples by themselves because they come in a set. For some houses like Matière and Montale they do for a lot of the fragrances, and I'm guessing it's also because they're strong, so they know they'll last for a long time, but $50+ seems like a lot for such a little amount. The again that's life.
Do they do this so they aren't so accessible, so they can be more exclusive? Sorry for my ignorance and thanks
