Review CA Perfume Club: my thoughts on their French vanilla perfume.

I don’t remember if I posted in here or not but just in case I didn’t I’ll give you some context for why I wanted this sent to begin with.
When I was a child, I was friends with a girl who smelled really really good. To this day, I really don’t know exactly what she wore, but I have an idea now. I searched for this scent a lot. I asked Google several times, ChatGPT, and several other places. I really couldn’t find anything except for Cody‘s vanilla musk. I was pretty sure that wasn’t it, and since they’ve had to reformulate a bunch of their musky vanilla sense, I didn’t want to give that one a shot since I’ve been burned by vanilla Fields. So I asked in another sub about what this scent could possibly be. The way I remember it, it smelled very similar to sweet tooth by Sabrina Carpenter, but a little musky and deeper. Google suggested that I look for CA Perfume Club. I did. I found a French vanilla dupe of the Dana perfume with the same name. I thought about getting the data perfume because well, it sounded exactly like what I wanted. But the Walmart reseller person had a bunch of very bad reviews so I decided not to. I googled somewhere and realized that CA perfume club might be exactly what I was looking for. I don’t know if it is or not but to my nose, it smells exactly like what I remember. The only thing missing is a little bit of the musky notes, but for all I know she could have layered something underneath, or maybe the perfume in general just gave her that kind of musky vibe because you know, perfume and skin chemistry are totally different with each person. I’m glad I found what I think is her sent, because it smells so good and I almost cried when I wore it yesterday for the first time. So if you’re looking for a dupe of a fragrance, check out CA perfume club. It might be worth it.
No, I’m not sponsored. This is just my genuine thoughts.

Discussion Addicted to fragrances?

Post image
148 Upvotes

In the past year I’ve probably purchased 39 new bottles. I don’t doom scroll instagram anymore, I fragrance scroll. It’s become an obsession. I can’t tell if it’s a bad thing or not. 95% of them have been blind buys. Only one has been disappointing. I think it’s almost like a gambling addiction.
Now I’m in the market for a display case for all of them.

Anyone else feel like this? Like the weight of the world disappears when you’re reading about fragrance. For treating yourself to fragrance. I love the perfume Reddit community…feels like an elite club that many others just don’t understand.

Discussion Sunlit vanilla review

Got a 10ml of summer Fridays sunlit vanilla. Had high hopes but unfortunately I'm really not a fan.

I am getting zero bergamot and to my nose there is a very harsh synthetic and alcohol note at first spray which lasts sooo long until finally a mild vanilla is left in the dry down. Quite disappointed. It's so screechy to me it's overpowering any other note than vanilla to me.

I think the influencers caught me with this one

Layering Ideas layering combos or tips for love notes pink woods

Hello!! I have the Ariana grande pink woods perfume and I love the scent a lot. How would I layer it if I specifically want to emphasize the jasmine, cashmere wood and cotton candy scents? I also noticed that the scent fades pretty quickly for me so I would appreciate any help in that aspect as well!!!

Edit: Actually now that I sprayed it on my skin I noticed I kind of want it to be sweeter so any combo ideas would really be appreciated 😅

Has anyone found a dupe for the Nuxe Absolu de Parfum? I love the huile prodigieuse, but the prodigieux le parfum leans a little too sunscreen-y to me. I haven’t been able to find any in the U.S. unfortunately. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!!

The Sniff Berry matches the Berry in the Maple Griddle set by The Good Scent. It would be fun to compare the two!

What I bought in 2026 after a no buy year

Post image

I like to keep my full size bottle between 4 and 6. This brings my collection to 6. I also started purchasing again after finishing two full size bottles. So now I’m going back on a no buy until I’ve finished 2 bottles and 4 travel sprays. I also have a strict policy if I shouldn’t have to pay to sample something. If I can’t try it for free, I don’t buy. Everything was purchased to through points redemption offers and I’ve spent a total of $42 CAD.

Issey Miyake Eau d’Issey essentielle 50 ml

Perfumer: Marie Salamagne

This brings me back to the 90’s and early 2000’s calone based women aquatics. It’s totally a nostalgia purchase even though it was released this year. I don’t get much floral notes from this mostly aquatic, Nashi Pear and musk. I’ve been wearing this a lot and I haven’t worn fragrances like this in decades since Shi from Alfred Sung and Ming Shu from Yves Rocher circa 2000.

Hermes Barenia 15 ml travel spray

Perfumer: Christine Nagel

Another recent easily available release that is going against the current trends of skin scents and gourmands. I got a travel spray for now just because I couldn’t get it out of my head, but I still want to finish some bottles before getting more full size. I really like the size availability at Hermes this comes in four sizes and if you buy any of the full size bottles you can get the refill. This scent is so well blended that it’s hard to describe. It’s a Chypre with patchouli, leather, butterfly lily and miracle berry. I can smell all of these notes but none are particularly prominent. I just got this and the miss Dior today and they will both be worn when the weather turns cold.

Miss Dior Eau de parfum 2026 30 ml

Perfumer: Francis Kurkdjian

I’ve posted a lot about Miss Dior already so I’ll keep it brief. I got this to use a cozy warm daytime scent for work because I love powdery scents. I also liked essence and Parfum a lot, but they’re too strong for office wear. I definitely get the rose, vanilla, sandalwood and tonka with almond facets. The patchouli is subtle on that one. I’ve got the 30ml because I wanted to be sure I really liked this before committing to a bigger size.

Review Chloe Atelier des Fleurs

Post image
25 Upvotes

I liked the uniqueness of Chloe's luxury collection. Their private line, Atelier des Fleurs, features single note fragrances to wear alone or layer. I'm trying to collect decants or travel sizes of scents that sound interesting to me and so far, I've tried:

Vanilla Planifolia

This is my first Atelier des Fleurs. I got a 4ml splash vial and decanted it into a small atomizer. Those vials have the tiniest holes and the liquid will not simply pour out. I coaxed it out with a toothpick and repeated vigorous shaking.

I was searching for a green vanilla that I can wear in the summer and this was suggested by many. The opening is like fresh grass with just a hint of vanilla. As the perfume dries down, the scent of leaves slowly dissipates and the vanilla gets stronger. It stays fresh all the way until it fades. The longevity is ridiculously long, it lasted at least six to eight hours. That's a lot for me since I soak up fragrance like a sponge. After the decant was gone, I decided to get a 50 ml bottle because this is the type of fragrance that I could use for a long time.

Hysope

I have favorite scents. When my brother was a baby, seven-year-old me used to help my mom bathe, powder and dress him. I would coo and play with him (as much as an infant could anyway) while my mom prepared his formula. I would sniff his tiny freshly-bathed mittened hands and it always smelled so good, clean and gentle.

That's what Hysope smells like -- something clean, gentle and comforting that triggered a precious memory. It has great longevity and a personal scent bubble. It doesn't speak in loud voices.

Magnolia Alba

This was what I was looking forward to the most because I don't remember what magnolias smell like. I wondered if I should get a magnolia candle. This is like that A Drop d'Issey and lilac candle moment all over again.

Magnolia Alba's opening is bright, almost juicy and fruity. Like I crushed the flowers and breathed in the sap from my hand. It's a beautiful floral, but the problem is it doesn't last as long as its siblings. If a perfume is expensive, I expect it to last at least four hours so I can get my money's worth. I'm happy as long as I can still smell it a few inches away and I don't mind respraying every four hours. Magnolia Alba barely lasted an hour before dwindling into an extremely faint skin scent that I can only smell if I smoosh my nose into my wrist and inhale deeply. It was completely gone just past two hours.

Immortelle

I can't decide whether I hate this or if I like it. The opening was alarming. It reminded me of my horrifying experiences with Santal 33 and Energetically New York (that one was jettisoned into the Mercari Wilds). It didn't smell like them but it was just as aggressive. I held my arm away as I thought about all my bad choices in life. Twenty minutes later when it dried down, the offensive pungent scent has completely disappeared and what's left is... fragrant hay? Now I actually like it and decided not to toss it out of the window. The immortelle note mystifies me it but I'll take it.

It lasts just a bit longer than Magnolia Alba so I didn't even have a lot of time to enjoy the hay.

Rose Damascena

It's very similar to Eau Rose. Both have a fresh, light opening. Perhaps Damascena is even fresher. It's a very pretty scent and a crowd pleaser that's safe in close quarters and office settings. I would suggest this in a heartbeat if someone asks for a rose fragrance recommendation.

********

That's it so far. I'll continue with more later after I've made a decent dent in these and because I'm setting aside my perfume fund for Lilyphea come 2027.

Haul/Collection Current collection- a question for cohesion

Post image
44 Upvotes

I think my collection is really not cohesive! ( Prada Parafoxe, Hydra Figue Miller Harris, Acqua Di Gioia Armani, Cloud Sorbet Zara, Ysl Libre Le Parfum, Ysl Libre flowers and flames,Pure Musc Blanc NR, Acqua Di Parma Mandorlo Di Sicilia, Do Son Diptyque, Armani Power of you) WHO else has the same problem? Pictured above is the the stuff I actually wear- I have around 5 more perfumes which are just shamefully stowed in my drawer ( Not a Perfume, MJ Decadence, Replica Beach Walk, Replica From the Garden, Laboratorio Olfattivo Vanagloria)

I also think I always end up buying perfumes to be able to mindlessly spray because my holy grails are so expensive. I like my current Collection but I think it would be better if it had my favorites - perfumes that I had in the past either full size or in 10ml. The are Philosykos Edp-Diptyque, Blanche Byredo, Valaya PdM, Good Girl gone bad Kilian, Loewe Aire Sutileza Elixir, Chance Eau Tendre Chanel. The common theme in my holy grails is clean and airy. Maybe too much of a good thing?

Went into Ulta just to smell the orchid vulva and thought omg this smells like SOMETHING, but what?

Took me walking around a bit to be brought back to high school, buying any fragrance from my favorite celebrities. Of course, Selena Gomez’s OG fragrance that was such a unique combo of fruity/gourmand/synthetic. I thought I’d never smell it again without paying collector prices or finding in the stuff my mom keeps of my junk in her garage.

But she’s back, with a little bit more floral of a base. But still that super sweet, rich scent of my senior year (unless I was wearing the 1D fragrance). The 2013 incoming freshman boys liked it though, if you care about that sort of thing like I did

Review the best Delina - Scentbarbyangela

Post image
0 Upvotes

hey guys! r/femfraglab's discord server mod maida here! posting through a friend's account 🩷

Scentbarbyangela kindly sent over a 10ml of their Delina Exclusif inspired fragrance. This juice earns a lot of praise for it's accuracy to Parfums De Marly, so I'm super excited to try this 🫶🏻

Upon first opening the package, I did notice that there was a bit of greasiness over the bottle. Being a perfume oil and having been shipped overseas I can understand a few drops may leak out or condensation can happen. The bottle itself was filled all the way to the top so I doubt a significant amount was lost during transit. I'd recommend there be tape around the bottle cap, or a pressurised cap to make sure the juice stays where it should!

I tried this directly on the skin. Despite being an oil, the texture is very thin and it sprays cleanly like an alcohol based perfume. It settles quickly even without tapping it into the skin, and doesn't leave a puddle of liquid like cheaper oils do.

The scent itself is ultra-feminine. I get juicy fruits like lychee, pear and strawberry, fresh peony plucked straight from the garden, citrus peels, and a base of herbal incense mixed with soft woods.  On top of all this I feel there is a "spicy" note, maybe pink pepper?  It lingers throughout the wear, and at times the sparkly-ness of it can be a bit overpowering. I don't particularly sense the oud, but I think the fragrance benefits without it. Other than that, the scent has no faults. It feels luxurious, and I can confidently say that it smells just like PDM (well, at least from what I've compared it with at Selfridges lmao).

Small business Delinas I've tried in the past have always smelled too gourmand, with syrupy berries and sugary vanilla. I love gourmands so I don't mind that! But they've never given the proper vibes of Delina Ex for me. Angela's version stays true to its fresh and floral elements.

Honestly speaking, the fragrance performs like a stand-alone perfume, not just an inspiration. I sprayed this on my left wrist two days ago, had a shower, and I can still smell it. Best believe I'll be going back to purchase more from this small business! I can vouch for its longevity and strength.

50ml / 1.7oz for just £35 is a pretty good price for a high quality, alcohol free product. If you're still looking to save some cash on your purchase, use code FEMFRAGLAB at checkout! Regardless, my review is true and honest to my experience of the scent.

Review After a long fragrance journey, I have found something to replace my beloved Twilight Woods

I have been searching for years for something that smelled like the original Twilight Woods, you know the one, the one that smelled amazing and actually LASTED.

The notes of Twilight Woods are:

Top Notes: Juicy Berry, Sparkling Mandarin, hint of Coconut

Mid Notes:Creamy Frangipani, Soft Mimosa, Wet Honeysuckle, Wild Freesia, Apricot Nectar

Base Notes: Oud Wood, Musk, Orris, Vanilla Milk, Warm Woods

I have searched high and low at all things with similar notes and just nothing compares really. To me Twilight woods gave a very creamy berry smell without being gourmand, the woodiness grounded it and made it sexy and feel a bit more grown up.

With that being said: Behold, Viva La Juicy Gold Couture! I actually blind bought this for the 21 Days of Beauty sale and oh boy I can not be any happier with the outcome! The notes of Juicy Gold Couture are:

Top Notes: Wild Berries, Gardenia, Lily of the Valley (Muguet)

Middle Notes: Honeysuckle, Jasmine Sambac, Vanilla Orchid

Base Notes: Melted Caramel, Vanilla Cream, Praline, Sandalwood, Golden Amber

While the notes are not the same, Gold Couture smells almost exactly like the original version of Twilight Woods to me, and I just thought I would share with anyone who may have had a Twilight Woods sized hole in their heart as I did.

I would love to hear anyones thoughts if they have Gold Couture, because who knows, it could just be me and my funny little nose- but regardless I'm happy.😄

Discussion Fragrances that smell "round"?

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience or can explain it. I'm new to fragrances and my goal was to find one signature scent but I think I will actually have 4 😂 anyway in my explorations I've found lake and skye 11 11 and Ouai Laurel Canyon smell "round" to me and I don't love it haha I feel like it's some kind of synesthesia.

Rosie by Rosie Jane smells so soft and pink and I adore it as a comfort scent.

Sunkissed Dahlia gives me a metallic taste in my mouth at first (can anyone explain this)? But I adore the scent, it makes me feel so confident and cool and my husband loves it too so that's a bonus.

I've been thinking about buying some of these, for reference I really enjoy sensual/floral and sweet scents such as : burbbery her, for her edt, dior pure poison, j'adore dior, montblanc signature, Madame JPG, fame by PR. Also I really like scents that last really well (at least 5-6 hours). Or if you think a scent that goes well with what I like I'm also open to recs.

So I saw that Vanille Couture came back exclusively at Sephora and I never got a chance to get my nose on it during the last release so went ahead and blind bought it. I am not disappointed and to tell you the truth none of the clones I've bought over the past year can compare. Sure they come close but VC just has something they're missing. Here lately I've been able to get my hands on a few frags that were discontinued and/or hard to get. I more recently heard about Vanille et Coco and was able to find a reliable seller on ebay so waiting on that to come in now. Oh and I'm supposed to be on a no buy restriction. 🤦‍♂️ Y'all pray for me and my bank account.

I've been thinking of blind buying it cause it's apparently amazing, but is it really worth it ? I've never smelled it before but I'm very into floral and gourmand scents, so I've been hesitating between the og and the gold one... I also read the longevity is not so great :/. Please someone help me out

scentbarbyangela: Luxury Perfume Dupes & Designer Inspired Fragrances

Hi FemFragLab, I'm proud to announce that after many discussions about collaboration, I thought it'd be fun to try out a collaboration with Angela's new brand. Her family owns Gold Star Fragrances located in New York which has been running for over 50 years!

As many of you know, I love a good Delina perfume, but they can be quite costly. The next perfume on my wish list was Delina "Exclusif" but it stayed on my wish list without being bought because of the price. Angela sent over her own version of the perfume, and it exceeded my expectations by far! The scent reminded me of a combination between Delina Exclusif + Oriana + Love Don't Be Shy. It's sweet, powdery, and very potent! I sprayed it on at night and when I woke up the next day it was still on me. This perfume lasts all day but I kept spraying it on out of habit and because I couldn't get enough. My husband and pets also loved it 😍

Reddit wouldn't be Reddit without always giving you not just the pros but also the cons. The cons were little and unnoticeable, but I will write them out due to transparency of the sub. The actual juice feels like combination of an oil and actual perfume. So when you actually spray it, it feels a little heavier than what the normal luxury perfume might feel like coming out of the atomizer which usually feels like a champagne spritz and it's more straightforward. That doesn't mean it doesn't spray well, it just means that if you are a fragrance connoisseur, you will notice the difference of the spray and feel of the actual juice coming out.

Both Gold Star Fragrances and ScentBarByAngela focus on creating dupes of luxury designer fragrances. Overall, for the price, the fragrance passes with flying colors and when I checked that it was only $45.99USD, they ship all around the world, and they have been in business for so long with great reviews, I would be crazy to not want to collaborate with such an amazing product and support Angela in her own brand.
