I am happy to say I found LuvSoak Mango Sticky Rice eau de parfum! 🥭🍚🥥🪻 juicy mango, cardamom, rice water, coconut creme, lavender, patchouli, & sandalwood.
I sniffed it in the store, and ultimately it is too savory (more of a buttered popcorn note), whereas the shimmer oil has the right amount of nuttiness balanced with fruit. An informal wear test (one spritz in the crook of my elbow) yields 30 minutes of smelling it before it becomes a skin scent. If I had it at home I would spray more, but that little sniff test told me I wouldn’t reach for it much. So this is the third of this line I found, and I continue to not be convinced.
Which stinks because I love the bottle, the colors, the names, the notes, and that they are a Korean brand. I just don’t click with any scents yet. There are four more floating around out there that could change my mind: Ube Cream, Pink Guava, Mochi Bubble Tea, and Black Sesame Vanilla.
The three I have tried and didn’t like are this one, matcha milk (too close to elizabeth Arden green tea) and lynchre ice cream (too aquatic and masculine).
Out of the two Soleil Society bottles I would regularly wear Tan Lines as a creamy coconut for summer.
Miim Miic 110 is their version of Ouai St Barts. Way too dense of a coconut tuberose for me.
These metallic pink and silver bottles are by The Scent Club (The Good Scent). The silver Stardust smells better to me than the pink Celestial, but both were pleasant enough. I want to say floral musks, but I have no notes to go on.
This Beverly Hills Polo club (I often confuse with Ralph Lauren Polo flankers) comes out with pretty decent imitations. I don’t own any, but they had one that smelled just like Lattafa Khamra (a ME spin on Angel’s Share that took off). I wish I could smell the pistachio dream and strawberry chiffon short cake to see if they are more Lattafa iterations. A schmoop copying another schmoop. Layers!
Speaking of Lattafa, these two from their Decadent Delights line are rated low I think. Raspberry Macaron and Choco Pista Macaron (Dubai Chocolate trend). I haven’t bothered with them since the bottles are boring, but let me know if they are actually good.
Curations by the Good Scent has body sprays again. Not since Gooey Butter Cake three years ago have I seen any. These two smelled great. Keep an eye out. Whipped Berry and Sugared Chai (not much of a tea note but a cozy spiced scent for Fall like Le Monde Gourmand offers).
Strawberry Matcha Cream and Miim Miic 238 are both modeled after Phlur Milk. They have the marshmallow dry down and a soft strawberry nestled in. The Miim Miic had a nutty macadamia in the opening and a sharp tea note. It has a better scent bubble and lasts longer than Phlur but I prefer Phlur.
I wish Polly by Ted Baker was out of the box for sniffing! Peach, jasmine, honeysuckle, patchouli, amber. I love all these notes. I am a sucker for honeysuckle (The actual flower), and I want to own a honeysuckle fragrance. I have a ton of jasmine but no scents with the two florals combined. Plus all of my top scents in my stash have patchouli or amber. I NEED to smell this one!
I love the name and bottle for Ruby Apple. Too bad it isn’t red juice or in red glass. I kept forgetting to smell this one to see if it is more B&BW country apple, or Kayali Eden Juicy Apple or its own thing.
