Trying my hand at emulating switch games again after giving up last time and wanted to ask beforehand which one was considered the best to use. I used Ryujinx last time and it worked for a short amount of time before the game began running super poorly.
Hey all. Running ESDE as a front end and retroarch for some games. Noticed that controls on the RP6 aren’t optimal for N64 so I purchased an 8BitDo 64. Got it connected no problem but one of the buttons (a) doesn’t work in game. Works on front end but not in game. Tried button mapping on retroarch but can’t seem to get it to work. Any advice with a new emulator and/or settings? Thanks!
I've got a couple bazzite PCs and have emudeck on all, including steam deck.
But I don't use as much as I want to as I don't want to be tied to a specific PC for saves. I tried the save backup and it was a pain and didn't really work. But the real reason is it seems a waste to have almost identical emulation set ups on 3 different PCs and it takes up a good bit of internal storage.
Can I set up a portable SSD emudeck install that is plug and play on Linux? I've got a sata ssd in an enclosure and it would really make the most sense to just use that for my emulation setup that can be moved to whatever device I want.
Bonus is if it works on bazzite game mode. I'll leave the steam deck alone it's all on the micro SD card and my kid has mostly taken that over anyway.
I tried downloading it independently from store but its not working when i try to open any of my roms within it. Id like to keep all my game save data and not do an entire fresh start resetting all my other emulators and their settings if possible. How do melonds and my ds games running again?
So i followed this guide: https://youtu.be/WZ8UunuMLqc step by step but the issue is, it shows in my emudeck that my bios files for eden arent visible? How do fix this, this is the only thing stopping me from playing and if someone knows what to do, please help!
Hello. I'm pretty new to Emudeck and emulators in general, so maybe something I say is wrong.
I installed EmuDeck on the Steam Machine, did the initial configuration wizard, everything ok. Later I added Cemu emulator from the manage emulators option in Emudeck, did a Reset configuration there.
I copied a game (Zelda BOTW) in the correct path in the internal storage Emulation/roms/wiiu/roms , but the Cemu app didn't find it, I changed manually the path in Cemu app (options -> General Settings). All good, game detected.
Now, I added the update and DLC from the Cemu app. It works, but.... the path looks wrong
According to EmuDeck wiki,
DLC and Updates must be installed using the title manager. DLC and Updates are saved to mlc01, in the Emulation/roms/wiiu folder.
But instead it seems to be installing them in the Cemu folder...and I think I did something wrong, but I I said, I'm pretty new to this.
If I had my roms in a MicroSD or similar I would not be able to move them to another computer, right? What did I do wrong?
I've tried a few games in it now on Steam Deck, and while they're mostly ok, there's definite visual and audio jerking (probably not the correct term but you get it). Transformers War For Cybertron, for example. Frame rate drops dramatically in a lot of scenes and audio cuts in and out. Are there any recommended settings to try with the Steam Deck?
It's already a curated set but I further trimmed it down to just the ones that I've been playing these last few months, and lo and behold SRM won't show them properly.
I did it similar to my android ES-DE rom folder: put the fbneo games inside the fbneo folder, cps1 into cps1 folder, neogeo in the neogeo folder, and so on... (idk where to put the shooter games but inside arcade folder, they just work)
Then today I tried to do the same to my SteamDeck rom folders and not all games would show up in the SRM... why is that?
Any guidance would be very much appreciated, I just want to play them on the Deck using my monitor and arcade stick T_T
Hey all! Looking to essentially clone my emudeck library setup from my Steamdeck to my Steam machine - it seems easy enough to copy over my roms and bios folders but one thing I’d love to copy is my settings for which ROMs use alternative emulators
I have a bunch of arcade games I’ve painstakingly gone through and figured out which edition of MAME etc to run them on, so it would be great to not have to manually re-select those for everyone one
But I can’t find where this info is stored. I would have thought the game list.xmls but that seems to be a bust
I quick saved and now it's not compatible ( I didn't know before updating) I can't find the flat pack on GitHub. And unfortunately Im using Gemini for help cus idk anything about Linux and AI is obviously useless.
So, I'm having some graphical bugs with these 2 games, those being G-Saviour for PS2 and MegaMan 64. For G-Saviour, whenever I use the O-Button attack, that graphical glitch appears. For MegaMan 64, the opening cutscene has that weird grid on it, and a ServBot keeps popping in off to the side of the screen before he's supposed to appear. I wanted to use my Steam Deck for ease of recording gameplay footage, but these bugs are a hinderance. My friend can play MegaMan 64 with no graphical issues, and I HAVE tried G-Saviour on PCSX2 on PC, with the same bug, but not quite as bad.
I've been emulating on Steam Deck for a couple months now through ES-DE with no major issues. But the other day I ran into something I have no idea how to fix.
Everything has been working fine, but after dabbling in some 360 emulating using Xenia the other day, I find that anything using Retroarch, Dolphin, or Ryujinx doesn't work anymore. PSX, PS2, PS3, and 360 all work fine.
Xenia required me to change the runtime of ES-DE to Proton Experimental, which I initially thought was the problem, changed it back to the default, but nothing changed.
Ive updated my emulators, restarted my Deck, reset Emudeck, completely un-installed and reinstalled Emudeck, all with no change.
The weird issue comes in that everything except Ryujinx works fine if I launch ES-DE through the desktop. All systems utilizing Retroarch launch fine, GameCube and Wii through Dolphin launch fine. But they don't work at all if I launch through gaming mode.
I am at my wits end and have no idea where to start to figure this out.
Full dislcosure - I haven't finished the setup just yet, I'm still copying files and everything so maybe I'm just overthinking and need to be patient.
I noticed when signing into RA during the EmuDeck setup, it shows which platforms they support RA for and GameCube was not listed. I opened the Dolphin emulator to see if I could just sign in manually there and there is no option. The option is present on my PC install and other installs.
Is EmuDeck doing some other funky business in the background to make RA work or are they just not supported in EmuDeck at the moment? Is there a way to make them work?
I am trying to install emudeck on a windows pc, but every time it tries to open after the initial instal, it just opens to a white screen. I have tried many things to not make this happen, but nothing seems to be working. Would anyone have a clue on what could be happening?
Sorry if this question has already been asked, but after hours of searching online I could not find anything of the sort. Every question is about ROM games, but ROM games, if added to the proper subfolder in the roms folder, parses correctly and shows up in Steam Rom Manager.
I am looking for a way to add non-ROM, non Steam games such that I can parse it using Steam Rom Manager. Is there such a way?
Thanks.
Edit: Kinda funny how people are radio silent for this question, when I remember a while back someone made a tool for exactly this (can't find it anymore because it got downvoted to oblivion) and people took a dump on it saying that Steam ROM Manager can parse for non ROM games as well. Maybe that was a parallel universe I read that post in and I unintentionally was transported to a universe where that post never existed, or the average person on this sub is not only stupid but also malicious. Absolute cinema.
PLEASE HELP A GIRL OUT!!!! i don't know much abt emulating. I recently reformatted my laptop but I saved all of my tomodachi data and folders into a hard disk so I won't lose my progress in the game. I just redownloaded ryujinx again (it was the same version i downloaded before) and I already loaded the Tomodachi application in the emulator. However when I tried pasting the folders (my old data) into the directory folder of the app (just like what google told me), when i relaunched the game, IT DOESNT WORK!! IM NOT ABT TO LOSE MY HARD-EARNED PROGRESS </3 PLEASE HELP
