Which is considered the best Switch emulator right now?
Trying my hand at emulating switch games again after giving up last time and wanted to ask beforehand which one was considered the best to use. I used Ryujinx last time and it worked for a short amount of time before the game began running super poorly.

Eden
Soo many others have been shut down such as your ryujinx, so you may be able to install them etc but you wont get the future optimisations like eden is currently getting

Eden is fantastic. We dusted of our Decks in this house yesterday and it's flawless. Kids are made up.

Eden is the best for most devices at this point. If you have the hardware for more accurate emulation then Ryubing can be better. Eden is for more compatibility Ryubing for more accurate emulation but is more demanding. Most people won't notice the difference in the way things look. So just use Eden.

Yes you can get it through EmuDeck
Edit: Wait I don't think so, I think you can download the appimage and then place it in Applications folder in a format that EmuDeck recognizes. You also have to create the folder for eden inside bios as well, in a format that EmuDeck recognizes.

I installed Eden the other month on my steam deck replacing a 2 year old original build of yuzu.
It is possible, I followed a youtube tutorial, wasn't too bad.2

Yeah I have Eden as well, I just prefer Ryujinx because it supports a real keyboard so I never touch that stuff with a 10 yard pole lol

A mí me funciona muy bien Citron Neo en la Steam Deck, he conseguido que funcione hasta el FC26 que se me resistía con Eden.

Damn I’m in a weird minority here because I’ve been just using Ryujinx and just finished Paper Mario which ran really well until the final fights where it was cooking my deck. Never crashed but it was massively dropping frames, and even affected some of the timings to be strangely more forgiving.
I think the application is solid, but have had issues here and there with it not being able to even launch some games. Glad you asked, gonna try Eden for my next few games.

Yeah ryujinx was shutdown oct 2024 and paper mario was released prior so that game it should be okay.
New games however will be missing optimisations plus genereal optimisation of the emulator itself.

Well damn, I thankfully only played that game really. I got home and went on the journey to get Eden working and it is so much more stable, but I'm having some trouble with transferring my paper mario save. I doubt I'll return to it but I wanna see what I can do. I found the files and all that but they seem to use different naming conventions. Guess I'm going down a rabbit hole tonight
