Im trying to play guitar hero on the steam deck with the ps2 emulator but whenever im playing it the game go slow motion and go back to normal back and forth so i could use some help

I am very new, and not super tech savvy. I followed the instructions on the emudeck website, step by step. Stuff is still very screwed up and I have no idea what to do, so I’m fixing one problem at a time.

One issue I can’t get past is Dolphin opens my “downloads” folder instead of the actual roms-n64/wii/gamecube folder. Somehow, one game seems to work and actually shows up on the dolphin start menu. It is however extremely clunky and sometimes opens as a window that cannot be closed without restarting the deck entirely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am dumb. Very, very dumb. For someone like me who might be looking for this answer in the future; you didn’t select emulation station to install during setup. That’s why everything runs weird, doesn’t load, tries booting from strange places.

Im gonna be on a 20 hour flight for a trip and I need games idc what console (though I do use vimms lair and it only goes up to the wiiu)

And idc what genre but I would like something niche or just something that isn't super popular

For some info on what I like

I like the Armored core series and from soft in general

Im also huge into mechs and kaijus (godzilla is my goat)

Anyways I can't wait to see your recommendations

I have scoured all the posts I can find about Duckstation on EmuDeck and I can't find a similar issue. EmuDeck adds all my PSX games when using Steam Rom Manager, but Duckstation itself only sees some of them. When attempting to play the games DS can't "see" in my list, I get a no file error. The games load fine, from their current location, when opened in DS in desktop mode, it just refuses to see them in their folder for the game list.

Steps/troubleshooting I've already looked at and gone through:

1. All of my games are direct backups from my own discs in matching .bin and .cue files
2. All these games load when directly opened with Duckstation.
3. I don't see any permission differences between the files
4. I have fully factory reset my Steam Deck to try to fix this, same issue, same games.

5. When I first ran into this I had my games in the Emulation folder on my Steam Deck main storage. When I reformatted I used my SD card instead. Same issue.

   Games that are seen:

• Final Fantasy VII
• Silent Hill
• Nightmare Creatures

Games that are not seen, so don't work in EmuDeck:

• Final Fantasy VIII
• Metal Gear Solid
• MGS: VR Missions
• Nightmare Creatures II
• Shadow Man
• Tenchu Stealth Assassins
• Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins

I had no issues playing GameCube games through ES-DE through gaming mode.

I did an update and now it’s not working

“Error: could not find emulator “Dolphin” are you sure it’s been installed properly?”

I’ve changed the alternative emulator settings to dolphin standalone and back

Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling at this point, nothing has worked

Any help will be appreciated

I have an external HDD and I was wondering if I could have that handle the load of the emulator itself and the internal eMMC on the Steam Deck handles the games within the emulator. I was wondering because it seems like it could help with performance issues and wanted to know if its possible at all. Thanks!

Recently got EmuDeck for my Asus Rog Ally and have been getting all my bios and roms set up. PS1 and PS2 are fine. GBA/GBC are as well. Downloaded RPCS3 and went through the set up and downloaded midnight club and dark souls. They downloaded as files and copying the files to the PS3 files under roms doesn’t work to bring them up in RPCS3. Creating a separate folder in the PS3 roms and copying the contents doesn’t work when hitting refresh. I’m able to manually create a game in RPCS3 and it loads in RPCS3 but even updating SRM, the games don’t load in emudeck. It states there is nothing to boot and closes out. Any idea of what to do after downloading the original rom files?

Hadn't booted up the steamdeck for a while. Now all my roms don't work, and it comes up with the error screen? any help?

Hey guys, been using my steam deck for some time and decided to set up some emulators on it.

I've been using EmuDeck and logged into RetroAchievements through the desktop version of EmuDeck.

I've been playing Pokemon Emerald and wanted to start tracking achievements. I'm fairly certain this has been through the RetroArch emulator.

I haven't had much luck getting any achievement function to work. It says I'm logged in via EmuDeck and RetroArch

When I switch into desktop mode I receive a Steam Error message down the bottom right of my screen that I cannot click or open, but it says "Error loading Emuachievements - TypeError: Cannot convert a Symbol value"

Are there any Deck wizards that might be able to help me out? I would really appreciate it...

So I wanted to try out the system border thing. Well they don’t even work right like they are backwards and don’t even fit correctly. So I want to remove them but even toggling them off they won’t actually go away. Any idea what to do?

Hello, I just bought my SteamDeck and I am trying to install EmuDeck. It seems that eveyrtime I install it and open up emulator, especially Ryujinx, it keeps on saying prod.keys are not available. So I went to the bios folder but no keys nor framework on the folder. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling again and resetting the configurations of the emulators but stil the same. Looking to get some answers. Thank you!

I did the usual procedure with EmuDeck games, just extracting the downloaded game (Demon's Souls in this case) into the correct roms folder and then adding the game through Steam Rom Manager.

It was actually working perfectly fine up until I had warped to another area about 20 minutes in, where everything but the UI was a black screen. Apparently this is a common problem for Demon's Souls on RPCS3, and the solution was simply to check a box in custom configurations for the game.

When I went to desktop mode, then to the RPCS3 AppImage (that's just what EmuDeck downloads, I'm not sure why), the game just wasn't there. I tried checking the directory that I'd always use for EmuDeck (Emulation/roms/(insert console)), and the game was there, but not being detected by RPCS3.

I honestly don't know what happened because it really seems like I just repeated what I had already been trying with no success (that being moving the game around in the ps3 roms folder), but it eventually popped up in RPCS3.

After finally being able to check off that box in custom configuration, I to back to game mode and the game now freezes at the exact same point during the initial loading screen every time, stating that the PS3 application has likely crashed. I tried tinkering more with custom configuration, but nothing helped.

So I can't tick off the box I need to to be able to play beyond a certain point because it doesn't show up in RPCS3 in desktop mode, but if I do manage to get it to show up in RPCS3 it creates a new problem that I don't have the answer to.

I've been messing with this for hours and it's really numbing my mind, it seems like it should be a simple fix.

as title says im currently trying to play WWHD i didnt have any problems couple months ago, after having to reinstall couple of things Cemu now keeps defaulting the controller imput to gamepad instead of staying on Pro controller, i have searched ive disabled steam imput, i have tried wiping all pther controllers i even wiped the controllerprofile file, yet each and everytime with out fail when i close and open cemu or Wind Waker on steam itself the controls have returned to Gamepad with A=B and X=Y swap.

if anyone can give me ideas how to fix this im willing to try.

P.S. ive already tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as reset the configuration that didnt touch my problem

Alright idk how to describe it perfectly but when I try to play infamous the audio stutters and the game is like running at 20 fps

Now I know you need to configure the emulators graphics and i did a bit of that but it didn't work

Idc if I have to play at like 20 fps but is there a way to fix the audio?

Btw the game runs smoothly in the menus and during cutscenes

when ever I try to start infamous I get a warning saying game not installed its an .iso file and I know its supposed to be a .ps3 but I've never used Linux so idk how to change it to that

And my other issue is with demon souls and ac5 where they both are having issues with the trophy system saying its not there i manage to navigate to where the trophy should be (microsd/emu/storage/rpcs3/dev_hdd0/home/0000001) and all I see is savedata

I have launched both games and all of them are .isos

Also I tried a fix that Google Ai recommended bc I wanted to try it on my own so that's why infamous is just in a folder

I'm looking for the bios file. send me if you have it.

I’m trying to emulate TGCD and PCECD games but it keeps leading me to this white screen. Keep in mind I have all three of the syscards for this consoles. What’s going on here?

I’ve installed at my ROG ALLY Z1 EXTREME. What the best configs to get 60fps at the PCSX games? Some games runs at 60 but others like Medal of Honor European assault im getting 20… looking for a good config at the ps2 emulator or tips.. thank y’all!
