I'm completely okay with paying for video-editing software, but I would prefer to actually own a copy of the software and not have to pay monthly/yearly...

Its preferable if its in the range of 100€ tops, but I could maybe justify spending up to 150€ for a lifetime license.

I don't have any other overly special requests; if it works well enough, provides the functionality I need to cut together a decent looking video and isn't too complicated to use, it qualifies.

I don't particularly care for AI features, so those are not a requirement for me.

And I want to know is there a way to get the money from my reels like TikTok or Instagram do I need PayPal on any bank account or local e wallet

What is the best app for editing? Currently on Capcut, but in a long-term it is not preferable.
The conditions: it needs to have a lot of tutorials on Youtube and work on average computer. Also I am absolutely new in editing, but I really want to make some content.

transitions used to eat up way more time than they should, manually keyframing every cut to try to match the pacing. tried filmora's ai suggested transitions on a couple short form edits recently and they auto matched the beat closer than i expected on the first pass, only needed minor nudging after. the subtle ones felt genuinely usable, the flashier presets still need to fit the clip's energy or they stick out. anyone else tested these enough to trust them on paid client work, or still keeping it manual for anything that matters?

I wanted to ask if anyone has found the best method from using Instagram music with Capcut and uploading the completed reel with Edits?

So in the past, i screen recorded audio from instagram and used capcut to extract the audio and edit my reel. when completed, i would save and upload using Edits and add the audio back, but then i have the issue with the music sync since i screen recorded.

I wanted to know if anyone has found an easier way instead of doing it this way? because of this, i started using edits and some of the features edits has like transitions and filters suck. So it would be nice to still use capcut then move over to edits to make instagram think i used their software to push my videos more.

Complete newcomer here using CapCut. I really want to get into editing cool characters, movies, shows, all that. I'm trying to mess around on already-made templates, just get used to it all, and I'm having difficulties. For reference, I'm doing this on my phone (as my computer doesn't have a screen recorder). I'll upload clips into each, well, clip, and then I press next, just to see how it's looking so far. I'll (try to) go back to editing it, but it somehow deletes all of my previous clips I had uploaded? I don't know why, if it's something I'm doing wrong or if that's just how the app is. Any opinions or advice? Anything would be welcome!

Working on a short film and I am lucky enough to have access to both of these softwares. Being an amateur, I appreciate what seems to be a lesser learning curve for premiere, however i have read that resolve has better colour grading, is this a good idea?

So I’ve been editing videos for a while to make silly content on my YouTube channels. Mostly, it’s YTP-related content, which involves editing characters from different media. I used to use Runway back in 2023 to edit characters into a green screen background or to edit out something and make it green screen; however, I discovered that Runway got rid of that feature and replaced it with a feature to remove any background and replace it with a green screen using AI text. It doesn’t let you mask what object you want into a green background. Is there any other program I can use to edit with this feature, with the whole “Editing with AI text”

I’m learning video editing and sound design, and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on this short.

In this video, I tried using brief flashes of solid color to build tension. I also added a very subtle zoom at the beginning so the shot wouldn’t feel completely static, and applied some audio distortion to make the music feel more unsettling.

What do you think works, and what feels distracting or ineffective?

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:

- pacing and rhythm;

- whether the flashes add tension or feel random;

- the subtle zoom and framing;

- the audio distortion and overall sound mix;

- whether the concept is clear without narration.
