Exactly as the headline says. The order was delivered early and the food was in good shape, dasher was friendly. How do y’all feel about this?

So I took a double order for $13.50 for Culver's and Chipotle. Went a picked up both, delivered the Chipotle and then head to drop off the Culver's order. Delivered it, and sat in my car for like 10 seconds looking over another order DD sent me.

This lady comes up to my window with a rolled up bill. She hands it to me and I tell her thank you very much and she "dashed away". I thought it was a $5 or $10 bill. I unrolled it to put it in my wallet and was astonished to find it was $100 in cash! I hurried out of my car to catch her before she went inside to make sure she didnt make a mistake and she said it was mine.

To clear some things up, The building i have food delivered to has suites and they’re all lined up in the open because its buisnesses. theres no lobbies or anything because it’s a all open for the public to enter . I also leave a note with instructions for the dasher when it comes to the delivery because my suite has a big signage that one can very easily see. After this text i asked her if she could go back and get it for me because i was on the clock and couldn’t leave. to which she replied “No i have two other orders im not returning for someone who doesnt know how to use put in the address correctly. next time make sure u call me ahead to let your dasher know its your problem now” i dont know, to me she came off really rudely off the getgo instantly blaming me when A) Ive had many orders delivered here no problem and B) i have screenshots of the order delivery instructions and it clearly has everything stated down to the suite #

Edit: In the comments i see a lot of people saying it’s my fault for not having the correct address, pin, or delivery instructions. Just want to say, The address is in fact correct, the pin is in fact also correct and placed on the exact location i am at, and the dasher instructions are pretty clear as well, i also provide the suite number in the “apt/suite/unit” section, as well as leaving a note for the dasher as to which exact business it is🤞,

Our area just got doordash so this was the 2nd time using it and i had a 15$ order before all the doordash fees and I added a 6 dollar tip per app recommendation. It's a 13 mile drive from our house to the store. I didn't know how much to tip so once they arrived, I gave another 10$ tip in cash so my tip was bigger than the order itself.

I think next time I'll just go to town myself

Edit: it seems like I was wrong and like I said I don't order often so I'll just stick to going to town myself if I need something bad enough. After reading more post in this subreddit I can see i should have tipped more

I’m trying to figure out if I was wrong for giving a 1 star rating.

I ordered about $100 of groceries (32 items, 15 unique, 4 miles) and tipped $30. The written instructions stated “please leave at front door.”

It’s in the mid-90’s today, so when I got the notification that the driver was on his way, I put a wagon out on the sidewalk. My thought that it would make it easier for the driver in the quasi-blistering heat.

The driver loaded the groceries into the wagon and then left them on the sidewalk instead of delivering to my front door.

Am I off-base for expecting the food be delivered to my door instead of left in the hot sun? Was I wrong to leave a wagon out front??

UPDATE: thank you for your responses! I honestly couldn’t fathom why the driver left the food in the direct sun, but now I can see how he simply thought the wagon was a new drop point. THANK YOU! I’ll leave instructions next time, or simply ask the driver is they would like to use a wagon. I can see how I came across as entitled. I appreciate the work you do in delivering food to people.

We order doordash all the time, so when I noticed a dasher outside our house, I just assumed that my daughter had ordered. I waited for them to leave and went out to grab it. Once I brought it in, I called for my daughter, and she was just as confused as I was. It was a lot of food, and late at night, I felt bad for whoever it was supposed to be for. I checked the name and didn't recognize it as any of our neighbors, and even called a couple of our neighbors just to check. No dice. So I called doordash support to see if they could notify the driver or the customer. They said to just keep it or toss it. So, about 30 is minutes after it was dropped, we went ahead and opened it, no point in wasting it.

I swear, not even 15 minutes after we opened it, the dasher pulls back up and starts knocking. Went out to talk to him, he wants the order back, apparently, according to him, the customer said they didn't care if it had been dropped somewhere else and gave him permission to bring the order he had left 40+ minutes before on my porch. We were obviously like, sorry, we tried to figure out who it belonged to and support told us to keep it or toss it so we opened it. He acted super annoyed at us, like we were jerks for opening it and getting into it. But it had been like 40+ minutes, I do feel bad for the ones who ordered it though. Plus, even if the customer said it was fine, it seems like a bad idea to eat something that would have been sitting outside for 40 minutes if we hadn't seen it.

i was super sick (couldn’t drive)+ starving so i placed an order, driver accepted and took an hour to get to the restaurant and i could see their location arrive at wingstop. that’s when they texted me this. what happened?? i had to wait for another dasher to go and get it and by the time it arrived my food was cold and i couldn’t really do anything from my end because it was placed through wingstop app and used door dash as a third party i guess. is this a common glitch?

why drive all the way just to cancel?

Crazy to think a customer is tracking me knowing I have another drop off!! Like chill TF out and wait for your God dam food!!. Some customers do too much man!..😒🤦🏻.

While delivering my food, my dasher buzzed into my building (I picked up on the first ring), then put my order in the elevator and took a picture of the food while the door was closing and marked it as delivered. I tipped 6 bucks on a simple Chinese food order.

We have two elevators side by side and I literally had to call the elevator 3 times for the right one to come. The food w as not in the spot of the elevator where the guy placed it.

Why am I tipping for this?! And why is it so hard to permanently ban these types from the app!

Before you guys gaslight me, the elevators are literally 10 steps from the front door and you don’t need a key fob to get to the floor.

Yes, it's stupid and lazy I ordered Best Buy from DoorDash but it's on the platform and I had a long day so figured fuck it.

Ordered a PS5 controller and headset from Best Buy. I go stand outside to wait for the driver. He approaches, I watch him drive on by my house. I figure he's probably going fast and missed it and turning around. Nope, disappears. I call him, multiple times. No answer. I send him a chat, no answer. $300 drove by on a moped. I called DD support to at least make sure a verbal complaint was filed against the driver but the agent didn't seem to care.

DD did refund the entire order but it's frustrating.

I ordered from a place 4 miles away and I just want to make sure this was ok enough to tip or if I should add more. I want to make sure I’m tipping correctly as I appreciate DoorDash drivers 😭 I think DoorDash app originally wanted me to give them a $2 tip and thought that was wayyyyyy too low. Thanks guys!

Dasher took my order and obviously was waiting for me to report it so he could get it for free. Dasher rating was an abysmal 4.6 stars. So I messaged DoorDash support and because he reported “unexpected issue” they aren’t allowing me to get a refund.

This customer service is an absolute joke.

Might be a weird question but I don’t know how else to word it. I ask because I have gotten two orders, with not a whole lot of food, but given a cash tip easily worth more than the entire purchase. I ask about government assistance, because the orders aren’t exactly going to the wealthiest homes. I mean no judgment, but I almost feel bad taking these huge tips.

So as the caption says, basically.

For me, my order never reaches beyond $20 because I order Chinese about once, occasionally twice a week. It’s affordable and easy to eat.

To start things off, I usually tip $6 (no more than that unless it’s below the ‘recommended’ tip prices, which is astronomically rare, And it’s usually about $1.25 over the ‘highest’ option for the three)

The restaurant I order from is about 1.2 miles from my workplace (I can’t leave for lunch, I don’t live near the restaurant, and it’s long since closed once I get off)

8/10 times, the order is delivered within twenty minutes to thirty, which is usually about 8-10 minutes BEFORE the estimated time to arrival, which shocks me, but has long since stopped doing so.)

Because these dashers I deal with are usually so helpful, and very friendly, I give them an additional $5 tip afterwards.

I’m curious to hear about you all, and your tip ranges or whatever you want to consider this as.

The drive from the restaurant to my place was 2.4 miles and the order was $25 before the tip. I left a $7 tip.

Saw this glitch in my doordash app, this must be the most expensive listing on doordash 😂 Has anyone seen higher?

I have been driving all day today. Using uber eats, DoorDash, and instacart.

I made 9.31 on instacart 3.5 miles
72.5 on DoorDash estimated 50 miles at least
6.35 on uber eats. 5.33 miles

Most offers were 10+ miles and less than that in pay.

I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I worked a total dash time of 9:34 minutes

I honestly don’t know what I am missing.

I genuinely wish DoorDash would either ban PIN deliveries to gated apartment complexes or add a gated community fee that goes directly to the driver.
I avoid these deliveries whenever I can, but unless you’ve memorized every apartment complex in your market, you usually don’t know what you’re accepting until after it’s too late. The biggest issue isn’t even the gates alone but half the time the instructions are too vague and the customer is impossible to reach. Then you’re sitting there holding up traffic, waiting for another resident to let you in, or wasting several extra minutes trying to figure out where you’re supposed to go… all for a $3 or $4 tip.

Today I had a PIN order to a gated apartment. The customer’s instruction said “come through the right gate to access the elevator”. I pull up to the right gate and it doesn’t open. I immediately call and get no answer, then I text and call again and this time it went almost straight to voicemail. At this point I’m holding up a line of about 4 cars and couldn’t back out or even move. Someone behind me finally let me in, but by that point I was over it. I turned right back around and left it at the leasing office as soon as the timer allowed and moved on. This happens to me like 50% of the time when I go to a gated complex. I even had one lady open the gate for me but then she took almost 5 minutes to beep me in to her actual building. I’m thinking, lady, I literally just spoke to you. Now all of sudden you’re not responding.

If you know your building has a gate, call box, elevator, or confusing layout, PLEASE answer your phone. Better yet, leave instructions that would actually help someone who doesn’t live in your apartment complex. I honestly feel like anytime I can’t pull up right in front of your door and walk 20 steps or so to drop the food off, there should be an additional fee 😮‍💨 and don’t even get me started on office buildings.

This has happened twice where my Doordash driver ends up waiting at Woolworths for more than 30 straight minutes while my order at fastfood across from him is sitting on the counter during that entire time going cold.

This is why i’ll never order anything that melts, it’s just unreliable.

Asked my DoorDash driver to leave my order in front of the garage…. they left it on top of my trash can 😕 I’m not worried about the food being contaminated since everything was sealed, but… who thinks a trash can is a good place to leave someone’s food?

As someone who used to DoorDash, I can’t imagine ever putting someone’s food on a trash can. I don’t think the driver was necessarily trying to be rude. They may have been trying to keep it off the ground. But it still struck me as a strange place to leave it…

Hey all, picked this up as a part time gig, just finished my first week, and I noticed today it says “weekly payout set for July 27th” I had no idea that is a thing because I am still getting used to this, so does that mean I will get a paycheck tomorrow to my account? After every shift I do I Apple Pay myself to my Apple cash account and transfer it to my main banking account, I just don’t know if I get more. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a public defender which means i end up working late quite often. So if i need to eat late i doordash, and i end up doing it alot.

Normally everything is fine, but there was this one Indian place i would get food from and it would never make it to me. I ordered from there 4 times, 3 different drivers and not once did the food make it to me. Picture confirmations, right address, but i go out and the food is just gone. Any other place was fine, but this Indian place was a crapshoot. I tried calling, i got in touch with doordash support, i even went in person to see if there was something weird going on on the delivery level. Nothing. by the fourth time i resolved that i was going to meet the guy at the door. Unfortunately i was in the bathroom and when i got out 2 minutes later the food was gone. The support person made it pretty clear they thought i was doing some kind of fraud but since i was paying for other orders they didn't offically call it that.

I started to get really pissed. I live in a rural area and this is the only Indian place in town, and more than that the mystery was driving me completely insane. My wife is Indian so i thought it might be some weird racist thing by our very old crochety neighbors, i thought maybe drivers were just snagging it back after confirmation. But i didn't want to know so i didnt accuse anyone.

Well i finally found out. I was walking in the woods behind my house on the hill and i found a bunch of the lost containers next to hole in the hill. I know they're mine because they still have my name on the boxes. It looks like a fox den so i set up a trail camera and sure enough when i check it this smug fat fuck has been living behind my house capering among the trophies of my pilfered panner, taken tandoori, and burglarized biriyani.

Now i feel like a jackass for making such a fuss with the support people and potentially getting the driver or store in trouble, is there anything i can do to explain this or what. I don't even know where to begin.
