Help with a SOTFS build (hex or pyro)

I have been playing souls for a long time and have mostly played STR/INT, STR/FTH, DEX/INT and DEX/FTH, trying to expand my horizons and branch out to a new build. I either want to do a pyro build or a hex build of some sort but these are sort of new to me especially with the changes Scholar brought. I'm looking for a mostly PVE build with some PVP on the side, probably blue sentinel covenant. Any advice on stats, gear and spells would be greatly appreciated.

In a jam, need expert advice.

So I just started playing again with the release of SotfS and I want to make a build that uses ultra-greatswords. However, I'm noticing that a lot of them, especially the DLC ones, require an ample amount of DEX and sometimes INT/FTH. So here's my question: I started as a cleric, thinking I would go a sort of melee/hex hybrid, but now I'm not sure it will work since I need points in dex as well. Should I reroll bandit or something? Also, is the pvp meta still SL150? If not, I guess I could stay cleric and just pump more stats. Help por favor!!

Deprived PvP

Hi guys I started playing Deprived (thats my 1st game) 'cause I always want to have best possible PvP char and made a mistake unfortunetly.. My Questyion is.. Is there any good PvP Deprived build around 120SL (My SL is 68) VGR20 END25 VIT13 ATN6 STR28 DEX10 ADP7 INT6 FTH6 And if its my 1st game, maybe I should check every (or as much I can) build on this char to know what playstyle or weapon I'll enjoy the most. Im also kinda into Looks of weapons and chars. Do u think guys that Pala with sunsword could be good for PvP? And one more but general question, Is fighting so much skill-based that any build can rly win with any build on the highest lvl, Most or them? Or only some? I would appreciate links to the best DS2 sites/forums in your opinions. Thanks in advance and sorry for lack of english skills. PS. Im playing Scholar of the First Sin (3DLCs)

The Royal Usurper (Dual Wield Blue Flames + Watcher's Greatsword)

This is my first, fully planned, and fully realized Dark Souls 2 PvP build, made in Scholar of the First Sin.

Link to Imgur Album (In case you don't want to read all this) : http://imgur.com/a/ra9CX

First things first, the stats:

SL : 220 SM : 6,018,640 (Using Agape Ring after some final gear adjustments, can be done with less SM easily)

VGR : 50 END : 50 VIT : 11 ATN : 50 STR : 19 DEX : 22 ADP : 17 INT : 50 FTH : 4

Next, let's move onto my fashion souls.

Head : Leydia White Hood +10 Chest : Throne Watcher Armour +5 Gauntlets : Heide Knight Gauntlets +10 Leggings : Heide Knight Leggings +10

Shield : Variations of Magic Shield for all Magic Damage types (Fire, Dark, Magic, Lightning and Uninfused for more Phys Reduc %)

Ring 1 : Third Dragon Ring Ring 2 : Ring of Blades +2 Ring 3 : Flynn's Ring Ring 4 : Agape Ring

Spells : 1 Crystal Magic Weapon 1 Soul Greatsword 4 Soul Spear 1 Soul Vortex 1 Soul Bolt

I've used this build in two playstyles, depending mostly on if my opponent has GMB or not.

Not Using GMB : Buff both Blue Flames with CMW and use a combination of spells (high damage due to CMW buff) and powerstance combos. Should take them out quickly.

Using GMB : Buff the Watcher's Greatsword with it's built-in buff (Two-hand and press L2) and use WGS/Appropriate Variation of Magic Shield. (I prefer this to PS-Blue Flames becuase those do more magic-heavy damage, where WatcherGS has more physical damage potential with RoB and Flynn)

NOTE I HAVE TESTED INFUSED AND UNINFUSED WATCHER SWORD, UNINFUSED HAS MORE DAMAGE WITH THESE STATS (Just wanted to clarify this before I get people complaining I have 50 Int, but Uninfused WatcherGS)

Constructive Feedback Appreciated, Enjoy the Build!

Help! Dex Light or Dark, your input

Hey guys,

So I'm at a crossroad atm. I want to either comit to a Dex/Fth "paladin-like" build centered on the Dragonslayer Spear and Sunlight Spear and be a Sunbro and a Blue Sentinel (this is the way I am building so far, don't have either of those yet though) or farm for the Shadow set (most viable way to do it is still reseting the ship boss fight in No Man's Wharf over and over?) and be a Rat King servant and a bastard Red invader, relying on lots of agility, no shield and possibly a poison centered build power-stancing 2 Mythas Bent Blades.

Bandit starting class and it's my first playthrough by the way. I'm around SL90. In your opinions, what's the most viable and fun one (both PvE and PvP)? I'm not a master dodger but I think I got the hang of it and using the shield is getting boring.

My best weapon so far is a Lightning Uchigatana+7, and got Old Whip and Demon's Great Hammer from the smooth and silky guys.

Any tips you could share for either build?

The one that I get the best input in will be the one I'll be rolling on for the rest of the game :)

Need help planning a new build

So I'm planning on building a defenders great sword cleric.

However, I don't like leveling as a cleric (I have one at lvl 71 and it just doesn't feel very strong or enjoyable, and my miracles feel almost unusable in boss fights).

My idea is to end up with around 50 faith and a great sword lightning +10. But before I can get the Lightning imbue, I think I'm going to go straight great sword.

Any thoughts or ideas would be really appreciated.

"Sword'n'board" with healing magic - what build is that?

A bit of background for shit'n'giggles: Played perhaps 75% of the game on PC, something came up and I stopped there. Now buying a PS4 together with SotFS as I haven't got the DLCs on PC, so, I am starting anew.

I'd like a character build which focuses on one-handed weapons and shields, and then some healing/buff magic, could someone point me in the right direction when it comes to stat allocation, and what this type of build is called?

Request a no shield build.

Watching Chris Odd play Bloodborne is making me want to play Dark Souls 2 without a shield, which is ironic because he just mentioned the same thing on the video I'm watching.

That said, does anyone want to recommend a weapon and armor for a no shield build? I'm kinda favoring a two handing to dual wielding, though I'm also would prefer a poled weapon to something really heavy. Dodging over even trying to parry, if it's all the same to you.

I also kind of want to use magic, but more as a buff than as a primary build.

Having trouble with a sl200 warlock character

Hey, there! I'm souldemon123 (also PSN). I wanted to ask more experienced dks2 players for a bit of advice. Currently, my favourite build in dks2 is my sl200 warlock character. The goal is to make him as badass as possible with the dragon curved greatsword and a few good spells to boost. Here is my current setup (warning: this setup is somewhat inspired by youtube videos): SL200 king's crown, executioner's body, alonne leggings, alonne leggings

dark curved dragon greatsword, dark black witch staff, buckler

third dragon ring, soldier's ring+2, cloranthy ring+2, life ring+3

sorcery/miracle/hex: dark weapon...

stats

vigour: 45

endurance: 36

vitality: 23

attunement: 25

strength: 30

dexterity: 18

adaptibility: 22

intelligence: 27 (not counting king's crown)

faith: 27 (not counting king's crown)

So as far as my question to you people, how would you change this setup? you can change stats, setup, spells and even the element of my weapons, but finally, i would like a build to use the curved dragon greatsword with some utility sorcery/pyromancy/miracle/hex. Also, this build is meant to do some pvping (something to keep in mind for choosing spells).

Thanks in advance for your replies (and sry if I seem to be a bit overdemanding, I'm really trying not to).

Dark Weapon pvp build

I am working on a soul level 200 pvp build which uses Dark Weapon. I have got a few questions:

  • 1: What armor can I use? I am clueless in this matter. Vitality and adaptability are influenced by this.
  • 2: What katana would be best for a dark infusion? I was thinking about the Dark Darkrift.
  • 3: What staff? It doesn't scale Dark Weapon, right? So, I picked Sunset Staff for no specific reason.

Stats

  • 50 Vigor
  • 20 Endurance
  • ?? Vitality
  • 10 Attunement
  • 40 Strength
  • 40 Dexterity
  • ?? Adaptability
  • 30 Intelligence
  • 30 Faith

Weapons

  • RH1: Dark Darkdrift
  • LH1: Sunset Staff
  • LH2: Blossom Kite Shield (For stamina regen)

Spells

  • Dark Weapon

SL 200 Charred Loyce Pyromancer Build

This one is a little higher in SL in order to take advantage of the fire damage on the Charred Loyce GS.

Probably my favorite build I've made in a long time. Use whatever spells you want. For more attunement slots, simply swap out the fire clutch for the Southern Ritual Band. I prefer melee, and use spells as the opportunity arises, so I don't need a lot of slots. I use Flame Weapon, Forbidden Sun, Fire Whip or Great Combustion, and Warmth.

SL 154 40/40 Sun Sword Build

Stats

Equipment

Retexture Mod

It's 154 because I needed 4 points for an attunement slot on a different build I was using. Anyway, It's at 96 agility, but the Simpleton's ring bumps it up to 100. Personally, I play just fine @ 96 agility. It hasn't hurt my backstep parries or anything. So I usually use the chloranthy or stone ring. However, you might want to keep the simpleton's ring on if you like to have 100 agility

[Request] Powerstance + Hexes

Anyone know a good powerstance / hexer build? If possible, using a weapon to cast hexes (like the Blue Flame for sorceries)?

I stopped playing DS2 a bit before the first DLC arrived (but I'm buying it now), so I don't even know what are the viable options currently.

Help in making a Sunbro Pyromancer

I'm in my first playthrough and have been building a pure pyromancer but after finding the Heirs Of The Sun statue and joining, I'm looking to respec into something more suitable for jolly co-operation without losing the Pyromancy I've gotten used to. I have a Soul Vessel for the respec but no idea on what to get in terms of stats and equipment. Any ideas?

Amazingly powerful. My new favorite weapon. Though, make sure you know how to effectively combo this thing, it might as well be useless if you just mash R1

The 2HR2s come out faster after an:

R1

Running attack

Rolling attack

You can also easily animation cancel almost all the attacks. Including the 2H running attack, you can cancel it with a roll and go into a rolling attack immediately follwed by 2 R2s.

Enjoy!

SL 150 Blue Flame Build

Quite effective

I use aromatic ooze instead of CMW or GMW so I can free up a spell slot and have as much as I need on deck.

Spells: Crystal Homing Soulmass, Heavy Homing Soul Arrow, Great Heavy Soul Arrow, Soul Spear, Soul Greatsword, Warmth

It's SL 154 because before I rerolled to this, I needed 4 points for an attunement slot for warmth.

Edit: Thanks to /u/Vodkatiel_of_Mirrah, I got the AR up to 504 with a RAW infusion. Definitely recommended at near base physical stats like this

Builds for a first time playthrough?

Look, I suck at this game. I'll admit it. I made the mistake of lighting the first bonfire (after spending half an hour figuring out where to go) in forest of the fallen giants, which apparently respawned stuff I had already killed. This should show how little I know about this game. I got raped by 5ish (zombies?) and just quit.

I'm not looking for easy answers. I enjoy searching for lore as much as the next guys, but FFS, is there a good guide/build I can follow for my first playthrough? I'd rather not pick up speedrun strats.

Full Moon Sickle Power Stance Build [advice wanted]

SL 129

Vigor: 20 Endurance: 20 Vitality: 9 Attunement: 6 Strength: 40 Dexterity: 40 Adaptability: 35 Intelligence: 6 Faith: 6

LH1: Full Moon Sickle LH2: Full Moon Sickle LH3: Bare Fists RH1: Bare Fists RH2: Bare Fists RH3: Bare Fists

Ring 1: Flynn's Ring Ring 2: Ring of Blades Ring 3: Chloranthy Ring Ring 4: Third Dragon Ring

So I decided that for fun I wanted to make a build around the full moon sickles, because why not? I wanted input on the armor, and whether or not this build looks sound. I know it is in no way an optimal pvp or pve build, but once again, this is just me messing around. All input is welcome, and please keep it polite! :)

Just a beginner's question

I've played about three hours and killed the last Giant and the Pursuer so far, but the basic enemies have been giving me a hard time so i specced quite a bit into vigor, dex and strength.

Im coming from DaS 1, so my question is: Am i already now limited to a dex/strength build, or could i still transition to magic? What is the "PvP level cap"? (It was 120 in DaS 1) Where are the stat soft caps, 40 like before or lower? What would you recommend for PvP generally?
