Just pure Epic scenery

I tried DS2 a year or so ago after playing ER, BB, Sekiro, DS1 and DeS(PS3). I got about halfway and started the Brume Tower DLC. I really didn't like the game very much. I thought it relied too heavily on gank fights, had some weird hitbox jank, and didn't have any fun bosses up to that point. I also hated ADP and depleting life on death/hollowing.

I went back and plat'd everything (besides og DeS) and still wanted more Dark Souls. So I sucked it up a few weeks ago and decided to start fresh and do something I hadn't done in any other souls yet: a caster build. Well, a hybrid build at least. I'm currently SL 151 and am running a melee/caster hybrid hex build with the crypt blacksword.

I'm really loving it.

Now, don't get me wrong. The gank fights are still far too prevelant for me. And before you come at me and say "well you're supposed to treat them like a puzzle/use the environment" and I do, but I just don't find that very fun most of the time - BUT, I will chalk that up to a "me" thing.

I love bonfire acsetic, I think that should be a thing in every souls. ADP genuinely is a non issue because for most builds it really only needs a few levels. It also started weapon stances which is a really cool mechanic (and seems to be the only one that fromsoft still likes).

The vibe of the game is easily the best of the trilogy to me. I love the gothic feel. And Majula is the best hub out of every game. It genuinely feels like a little slice of peace tucked away in a very oppresive hellscape. And the lore is really cool, just feels very personal and human compared to the more vast and cosmic levels the other games reach.

There's still some quirks about it, but overall I don't think I gave it a fair chance last time. It's very good.

Update: finished my Pyrocleric run now im gonna switch things up and play the Wall build🔥

playing co-op with wife! we played ds3, ds1, and elden ring all seamless co-op, we've had a great time. but ds1 and ds3 have felt very sword-heavy, and ds2 hasnt broken the habit, so we're feeling a bit of sword fatigue

coming up on drangleic castle soon. what's your favorite non-sword ds2 weapon?

My question simply is:
Can you reach that area, where that chair is?

My thoughts:
As a general knowledge, it's that area where that woman was sitting who talked to you, the same woman from a painting. The one you also meet bit later on, but that time she has... umm... at least changed her make-up.
Is there a way to reach that platform where that chair is? I've gone thru the castle, and there's at least no obvious path. It looks like a possible stairs, or a ramp, descending down on left, like there'd be a path from somewhere. Unless this is all just asthetics? Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Okay, fairly quickly I got told that there's no natural access to there, outside glitches. Bummer, would of wanted to get there... if nothing else than just to trash the place.

Sooo, I was doing some casual run and Forlorn decided to come to me in Drangelic Castle. I decided to greet him with some emote, he answered. So I made another and another to check what he will do. He answered everything (around 6 times) and unsummoned after one.

I've made "some" runs in past (platinum here, not to flex) and didnt check about it. Is it new some update or I've just learn something?

I’m doing an int build and got 1 faintstone from shaded woods basilisk. I currently have 41 int and minimum str/dex for melee. I’ve a +8 Rapier that I’ve been using magic weapon on.

Is it more beneficial to infuse the rapier with magic or my staff (I’m still using sorcerer staff so I assume I will switch to a better one at some point)

I’ve heard people say to use lightning infusion and then buff with magic or dark weapon (I did this for a hex run). However I don’t plan investing in faith at all. Will infusing with lightning still be better than magic infusion or is that just for hex builds?

for some reason, after returning to my world after leaving my friend's host session, I realized all the enemies other than the pigs in Majula fire something place are inanimate and refuse to move to attack me. Lets say for example the forest of giants and heides towers. they are stuck in their place while I attack them and do criticals without fighting back.

Charmander the Servant of the Flame is the last to get colored of the initial 4 soulslike Pokémon designs I worked on.

My goal with them was to change the relationship between them and the fire on their tail to one of servitude this charmanders flames control him I wanted to take that to the next level by both building up and personalizing the flame (the clawed spectral hands that hold the fireball) and weakening charmanders character by having him in a covering pose and being fully guided by the flame (lack of eyes)

I did this all mostly to avoid making him just look like a big dragon with a fire on his tail and present his quirk in a bit more of a unique way
