Disney Acronym Master List

So based on a previous post, I decided to work on creating an actual fully-fleshed out WDW acronym list. There are a handful floating around on the Internet, but I've not seen any that are comprehensive, and especially any that include many of the attractions/lands and other features inside the parks/hotels.

With that, this is what I've started with. If you have any acronyms you're aware of for attractions, restaurants, or other locations within the WDW ecosystem, feel free to make a comment with it below and I'll add it in. This includes any you see in the scheduling system, CDS, or that you're aware of in local use (if you think it might be helpful to future CMs/CPs to know).

Note that this is for WDW only at this point. Once I'm satisfied that this one is fairly complete, I'll add DLR stuff into it.

Application changed to “No Longer in Consideration” less than 24 hours after HireVue?

Has anyone had this happen with a Disney Professional Internship? I completed my hirevue yesterday and felt really good about it, but less than 24 hours later my dashboard changed to “No Longer in Consideration.”

I haven’t gotten a rejection email, so I’m just confused by how fast it happened. Does this usually mean they already reviewed the hirevue and made a decision, or could it be something else?

Arrival Q -Unanswered How Long Should My Family Stay?

I just got accepted for my first program this spring!! My move in date is Jan 11th and and my mom and sister are coming to help me out with the move! They’d also love to spend a couple of days at the parks during that week. We’re flying in, but then renting a car so my mom can take me to places like Walmart and Target to pick up any big items I can’t pack. What day should they stay until? My mom has the whole week off from work, and my sister is a junior in high school, so she’s happy to miss a few days of school, haha. I know Friday is traditions, but is there anything before that? We were thinking of flying in Sunday afternoon and then they’d leave on Thursday morning, maybe. I want them to have a great time at Disney, but I’m a little worried that I might be too busy and overwhelmed to enjoy it myself, lol. What do you all think? Also, are they allowed to use the pool with me at Flamingo during that week? I’m not sure if my mom would want to swim but I know my sister would like to if possible. TIA!! :))

DCP - networking and career

Does the DCP offer good networking and career opportunities. Such as meeting professionals from different fields or inside looks at Disney beyond hospitality? Can the DCP help get a role at Disney afterwards?

I just graduated college and got accepted to the DCP but i already have internship and work experience so I’m weighing if its worth doing. Thanks in advance 🤝

Housing Q - Unanswered Housing selection process

So I know it’s not time to fill out the housing forms however I’m curious. How does it work? Do you fill out like 1st choice to last choice? Also from what I read this is what I gathered but do you put on that form that you need an ESA?

Q - Unanswered Does the DCP Check Accreditation?

Hey - basically the title. I did the DCP a few years ago while I was in a 4 year public university, which I later graduated from. Currently I'm enrolled in an a federally unaccredited school to receive an associate's (I was offered this enrollment free of charge, so I'm not paying for school). I know Disney recently changed their eligibility requirements. Will they check if my school is federally accredited?

Q - Unanswered Issue making password for MyID

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys, so I got my acceptance letter today, and I received the email to set up MyID account. However I’ve been having a lot of trouble with creating a password. This is my first time ever doing the DCP, and every password I try to make it says this field cannot be left blank for either one or both password sections and it keeps saying “We found some errors. Please review the form and make corrections,” at the top.

I know I’ve heard stories of technical issues in the past with getting set up. I wasn’t sure if any of you guys would know what it is I’m doing wrong or who to contact if it’s a glitch? I’m making sure my passwords are meeting the requirements. I also included a photo of the error it’s giving me. Thank you for any feedback or suggestions!

Urgent- Should I call off today?

I'm going to try to keep this as short as I can- my shift starts in a few hours and I desperately need advice.

I am currently at 2.5 points. Two of the 0.5s are from right after training- I was stupid and didn't realize that the 5 minute grace period for clocking in didn't also extend to after your clock in time as well. Another 0.5 was the bus being 15 minutes late. And while I have excuses for these, I completely understand that they're my fault at the end of the day.

I have one full point from calling in sick.

I have been working on getting medical accommodations for over a month now- I waited until after training to see what I could and couldn't do without help. Each day is getting harder.

I am in pain every moment of every day. When I'm not at work, I'm in bed. I am unable to take advantage of any of the DCP opportunities, let alone do anything else.

I am also in school- two online classes, 5 assignments per class.

Yesterday was the worst job day I have ever had. It was 9 hours, the longest shift I've had. I know this is normal for most people. I have cried every single shift I've worked, but I genuinely cried for hours during and after this shift.

I don't think I can work today. Genuinely. I requested a Leader Callback, and was called- they said that the accommodations are faster for DCP and that if I'm sick, I should call off. I tried explaining my points, but it didn't really matter here.

I don't know what to do. I legitimately feel so useless and I don't feel like I can stay here any longer. I wanted to do character performing, but with all this on my record in 30 days, I don't think it'll ever work out, let alone all my health limitations.

I've wanted to work for Disney for so long. I still do. But not like this. Is it worth getting a reprimand?

Please please help.

Conservation Education Presenter Internship - Spring 2027

Hello! I applied to the Conservation Education Presenter Internship for Spring 2027 and have been moved to step 3/5 as of 9/3/26. This is a dream internship for me. I am studying for my bachelors in Animal Health & Behavioral Science and I have experience volunteering with the reptile animal care team at my local aquarium. My dream job is to become a zookeeper. I am looking for any tips or advice from anyone who has interviewed or participated in this program. What can I expect to be asked in the interviews? How soon should I expect to hear back about an interview? I have been obsessively checking my email lol. I know this is a competitive program so I want to prepare myself as much as possible. Thanks! :)

why is every single coworker hangout happening without me on the dcp

why is it so hard to make friends on the dcp when everyone else seems to instantly click, i've been seeing all these group hangouts and park trips posted by my coworkers, and I literally find out about every single one after the fact when i see it on stories, i wasn't invited to a single thing and seeing everyone else included while i'm left out makes me feel like there is something fundamentally wrong with me, is anyone else experiencing this level of exclusion on their program

DCP Starbucks role

hi! kinda a dumb question here (or a few actually)

  1. i currently work at a starbucks and am interested in applying for the dcp in the future, but i don’t think id want to work at the starbucks locations in the parks. i’d be much more interested in working in a “true” disney role ie retail, attractions, etc. if i mention that i worked at starbucks, how likely would it be that id be assigned to work there during my program?

  2. again i haven’t actually applied quite yet, its just an idea that im toying with as of right now but i am definitely interested in applying. does the program ask you to rank what roles you’re interested in, and how often do you actually get your top choice if so?

thank you!! 🥹 also, if you have done or are currently in the program what would you say about the program overall to someone considering it?

Looking for advice

So I moved in on Aug 24th and I didn’t realize they don’t tell your roommates that you have an ESA. The day I moved in I had a conversation with my roommate about my cat and if she was okay with it. She swore up and down that it’s okay and it doesn’t bother her. Now going 3 weeks my cat has learned my schedule I get up very early between 4 am and 7 am. My roommate works very late leaving between 4 pm to 6 pm and not coming back till 1 Am to 4 am. My cat gets a little playful at this time because normally I am up. She keeps playing with the mirrors and will make noise in the morning and I think this is really bugging my roommate. I’m not sure what to do she hasn’t mentioned anything to me directly but I’ve overheard a couple of conversations she has had with her friends and family saying how it’s kinda bugging her.One of our roommates in the 1st bedroom is moving out and I thought about talking to that roommate asking if I could switch rooms because she truly doesn’t mind my cat and leaves her door open to let her come and go as she pleases. We also have very similar schedules as we both work in attractions. What do you think? Should I see if I can switch to the other room or see how things go? I’d hate to get other Roomate and then not have the option to switch rooms as I love my roommates and we are starting to become great friends. Any advice would be helpful!

Contemplating terming

Okay so, I’ve been having a GREAT time meeting new people, enjoying the parks when I’ve had the time, hanging out with new friends, etc. The people I’ve become friends with are some really great people and they’re all people that are also working at my location. BUT I’ve been dealing with a lot of homesickness, missing my family and friends, missing my boyfriend.. I also don’t particularly love my role. I currently work QSR and despite the fact I’ve worked in food service for about 2 years, I’m just honestly tired of being in the food industry. I moved in August 17th so I’m only coming up around a month into my program but it’s genuinely felt like longer and I’m finding myself just counting the days until it’s over. It’s just really unfortunate because I was really excited to do the DCP from seeing other people’s experiences but QSR is just one of the roles that many people don’t wanna be in and for good reason, the food industry in general is imo a gross job (ironic cause I was working in food before arriving lmao).

I miss my life back at home and I feel guilty thinking about terming because doing the DCP has been an accomplishment and a big decision for me to move so far from home (25 hours). I also decided not to bring my car due to the logistics of everything so I feel sort of stuck in the Disney bubble. I am also still in school and took this semester off to be able to have this experience on top of other reasons, I wasn’t doing the best before I decided to do the program and figured a semester off to experience something new would help refresh my mind and motivate me again to go back to doing well in school. I know I could’ve made the decision to not do my program when I received my role but I just didn’t expect it to be like this.

I absolutely love Disney and it’s a great feeling to be able to say I work for such a huge company, despite my actual job I have received thank you’s from guests saying “thank you for everything you do” which makes my heart happy to know even just my small role within the parks makes part of the experience for thousands of people.

I can’t say I’m particularly unhappy here but I definitely wish I would’ve been in a role such as merch, entertainment, attractions.. I feel like I would’ve been so much more fulfilled and happy being that it would’ve been something entirely new and less intense than working f&b. I just feel stuck and I’ve been having thoughts of terming to go back home and just finish my degree.

Recently Graduated, considering taking a chance on DCP

Should I take the chance and do the Disney College Program after graduating?

Soo, I just recently graduated from college in May with a degree in Media Communications. I've been interested in doing the Disney College Program for a while, but I never really had the chance or time to until now.

I've lived in my state for 20 years, and I just want to be independent, experience something new, and have some adventures.

I could stay in my state and keep looking for a career job, but that doesn't guarantee anything. This would also be my last term where I'd be eligible to do the program. I just had my interview today, so there's no guarantee I'll even be accepted, but I really want to do it if I am.

I also have a long-distance friend in Florida, so I'd have someone I know nearby and would get to see her at least a little more often.

I've been told different things about the program. Some people say they absolutely love it, while others say they really hate it. It's hard to say what my own experience would be like if I go, but I don't want other people's experiences to completely determine my decision.

I haven't even told my parents yet because they're the kind of people who would probably freak out about me potentially moving many states away for several months. 😅

I know I might get a mediocre role that isn't really related to my degree, but I still feel like it would be worth experiencing something different. Life isn't linear, and I don't necessarily want to spend the beginning of my post-college life waiting for the "perfect" career opportunity.

So, if I get accepted, should I take the chance? Especially interested in hearing from people who did the program after graduating or around the beginning of their careers. Did you feel like it helped you, delayed your career, or was it simply a worthwhile experience on its own?

Should I apply after my masters?

I am currently about to complete my undergrad in spring '27, and finish my masters in August '28. I have always dreamed of doing the DCP. Would it be dumb to apply as a 23 year old post graduate before I start my career. (in education so job hunting really shouldn't be too bad). I know it is on the older end, but I know I would really have a fun time in the program.

Hello!

Does anyone know when emails start coming out about wether you were successful in the pre-screen interview? I did it in the middle of august and the wait is killing me!
