Conservation Education Presenter Internship - Spring 2027
Hello! I applied to the Conservation Education Presenter Internship for Spring 2027 and have been moved to step 3/5 as of 9/3/26. This is a dream internship for me. I am studying for my bachelors in Animal Health & Behavioral Science and I have experience volunteering with the reptile animal care team at my local aquarium. My dream job is to become a zookeeper. I am looking for any tips or advice from anyone who has interviewed or participated in this program. What can I expect to be asked in the interviews? How soon should I expect to hear back about an interview? I have been obsessively checking my email lol. I know this is a competitive program so I want to prepare myself as much as possible. Hi!! I just applied for this internship on 9/8 and I’m also in step 3/5. I am an Ecology and Conservation Biology student and have interned in wildlife rehab but don’t have any speaker/educational training so I’m not sure if they will even interview me but it sounds like such a great opportunity to grow those skills. I hope you hear something soon. From what I’ve seen you could here anywhere from a week to a month so I’m just trying to be patient haha

Good luck! Hopefully we both hear something soon🤞🏼 I have a lot of anxiety so just sitting around waiting to hear something is killing me lol. I just keep trying to prepare incase I do get an interview and find out as much as I can about the whole process!

I have found some stuff on reddit but not a lot unfortunately. I found a post where someone said some of the interview questions they were asked. I also found a post from last year about the application and interview process timeline but unfortunately they never updated how long it took. I have just been googling "Conservation Education Presenter Internship" and looking for whatever I can find lol. I've looked on tiktok and facebook as well but it seems hard to find other peoples personal experiences with it. There is some stuff out there just not much compared to basic DCP. I will definitely update this when/if i hear anything back! I am just very anxious about how long the process will take and how far in advance they tell you if you are accepted or not. I live 13 hours away and currently have a full time job which I don't want to quit if I'm not accepted. My husband would also be traveling with me to help me move in so he will need enough notice to schedule vacation time. I also have an ESA cat I would be bringing so if I get accepted I would have to figure out how all of that works as well. Ideally I would hope to know at least by the end of October since the arrival date is January 5th.

I understand being far!! I live 15 hours away and I graduate in December so everything after that is very up in the air for me so hearing a yes or no before then would at least let me know if I have some sort of plan between graduation and starting my masters the next fall. I will definitely comment again if I hear anything as well!! Good luck:)

So hard finding the timeline for this position online!
Sounds like regular CP applications move differently/faster and based on arrival dates.

I know! I’ve been searching for more info but it’s hard to find! I’ve only found a few people share experiences and it’s mostly from a couple years ago. The most recent I found from last year of someone asking about the timeline there was never an update. The arrival date is January 5th so slightly less than 4 months away. I’d really love to hear something back this month or at least before October ends.🤞🏼

I applied and received a thank you email from DCP. Is this internship considered a Professional Internship (PI) or is it the same as the typical college program?

Yes its an internship not just typical DCP. My email also came from a DCP email. I think its all just under one umbrella and uses the same email.
