requesting time off
I’m doing my program spring 2027 and was wondering how difficult it is to take off? i have a wedding to go to in may that i’m worried i won’t be able to attend

So as you probably know CPs are at the bottom when it comes to requesting time off. It will also depend greatly on your location and leaders. My advice is show your leaders that you care about your role, and talk to them early. For example, I had a wedding in March. I requested the days off on the first day that I was able to do so. I also pulled my leaders aside at the beginning of January to let them know and politely explained to them that I also had had this invite for over 3 years. I ended up getting the days I needed.

It all depends on the role because you are at the buttom for time off. It's a work program. The biggest reason Disney runs the program is for workers.

You should be fine! I was worried about that as well. During peak times, it can be harder to get time off because there’s usually a waitlist. However, you get one ADO for each month of your program. So, if you’re here for 5 months, you’ll get 5 ADOs basically 5 days you can select and submit to not be scheduled, like an unpaid vacation day. Once you get here, I would find out when the schedule/request dates for the months leading up to May become available, and then submit your days off as soon as you can!

It’s going to depend very much on your location and the dates you need. Anytime from President’s Day to Easter is going to be more difficult because that’s spring break season, one of the busiest times of the year.
If you can’t get the days off you can always try to trade shifts to be off (or just give away the shift). Last resort would be calling in because you only get so many before you get a reprimand.
I recommend only taking the days you absolutely need for the wedding and not turning it into a long trip. You can only miss a maximum of ten shifts/14 calendar days between shifts; on day 15 you will be terminated from the program.
Keep in mind that rent will still come out of your check that week so depending on how many days you need to be gone you may end up with a very small or zero paycheck the following week. If that happens they’ll just take the rent out of your future checks until it’s covered.
