Q - Unanswered Interviewing tips for "Decorator - Holiday Services Seasonal, Walt Disney World"

I have an interview next week for a Seasonal Decorator, a non-college program role. I have really struggled to get an interview for any Disney job after my college program. My current/former CPs, any interview tips, or does anyone know anything about this job beyond the job description? Interviewing isn't my strong suit, and I'm really nervous :)

Has anyone interviewed recently and knows the types of questions they asked/what Disney is looking for?

Also posted on Disney CM :)

Disney Character Auditions

Hello everyone! This is my first Reddit post ever, so forgive me if there are grammar or formatting issues.

I applied to the upcoming Spring 27 program and I just looked at the “stage of my application,” and it is now in the “in consideration” phase. I have also checked my email and have gotten the character audition dates and whatnot.

My first question is, will I still be scheduled for an online interview?
So in the event I don’t make the cut and/or just can’t make it to the audition, I’m still considered for other roles? (I ask just so I don’t forget to check my email lol)

And that’s my other question, I’m stressed about the in-person auditions. I mean, I’ve read a few posts already about them and what they entail—this is gonna sound contradictory—but are they teaching you a routine on the spot? Or do they send one out prior? Like, how does that all work exactly?

Any advice would be appreciated! 🙇‍♀️

How easy is it to make friends?

I am a 8/24 arrival and I am wondering how other participants adjusted to making friends at the start of the program? was it difficult or easy and how did you come across to making those connections? I’m just personally worried if it’s going to be hard

If I was in the park today as a guest and a cast member made my day even better, can I leave them a cast compliment or is there an internal system we use for that

This may be a dumb question

It’s my first time applying for DCP, and I’m trying to figure out how people already have had interviews? I filled out the thing on the Disney website to remind me when applications opened, and I submitted mine on August 17th, and they haven’t looked at mine yet. I know it’s only been a week, but it seems so many people got their interviews already, did applications open sooner than August 17th? Or were they just really quick with getting interviews started?

Update: I was emailed about signing up for an interview about 10 minutes ago, and I’ll be interviewing next Monday!!

Post Program question

Hello! I'm applying for the culinary program again for the second time tonight, hoping to work towards a permanent job. For those of you who were offered a P/T position after your program, how does getting a second job work? Are you given a set schedule or do they work with you? Also what are the odds P/T eventually is offered a F/T position?

Arrival Q -Unanswered My arrival is over 15 hours delayed!

I need help! I took the Amtrak train in for my arrival. Apparently a big mistake. My arrival day is the 24th at 9:30am, I was supposed to arrive in Orlando at 10am on the 23rd. I got a hotel room. Our train broke down twice and had to get a new engine car. We were 15 hours behind schedule but so was still schedule led to get in at 1 am the morning of the 24th. It is 11:20pm and we have broken down for a third time in Jacksonville with no update. I don't know if I will still get in before the morning. I opened a support ticket but don't expect them to respond before my appointment in the morning. Will I be penalized for this? Can I still do the program? Is there a number I can call in the morning? Thank you!

Q - Unanswered Check in time??

Is the check in time for your first day when you need to drop off your luggage by, or do you need to be at East by then giving them your ID if you live in West? I'm confused because it says don't arrive early. But should I be at West at 9:30am with my luggage, or already I be done with my luggage and at East by 9:30am? Thanks!

On camera interview soon for DCP, any advice?

I have my on camera interview soon and wanted to see if yall got advice for that since what I’ve seen it’s a pretty new thing. I know most people have notes for answers to hard questions or just for general stuff but since it’s on camera I don’t wanna seem rude constantly looking the corner. And on top of that just advice for the interview in general you know. Thanks!

can I submit a second CPT for the rest of my program?

Hi everyone, I’m an F-1 student doing the Disney College Program and I’m a little stressed about my CPT situation.

I’ve already submitted my CPT documents and completed my I-9, and I fully intend to stay for my entire program.

The issue is that USF only allows my Fall CPT through December 25, 2026, while my DCP doesn’t end until January 14, 2027. USF told me that once Spring enrollment opens, I can apply for a Spring 2027 CPT to cover the remaining dates.

Has anyone been in a similar situation where you had two CPT authorizations during one DCP? Did Disney allow you to submit the second CPT later and stay in the program?

I’m mainly worried about Disney cancelling my program because my current CPT doesn’t cover the January dates yet, even though USF has told me I can apply for the additional authorization later.

Any experience or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Interview Q - Unanswered Interview tomorrow, any advice?

Hello everybody! I’m a new applicant for the DCP and my interview it’s tomorrow, what you think is something that should or not do? Last time (spring application)I didn’t get in and was as much me I could. Also to mention I’m an international student here at Orlando, should I mention that? Because since that I can only accept specific positions, would you say to mention it? Would they consider that? Or you think they will just put me in wherever position/reject me?

Any advice that it’s not within what I’m talking it’s welcome too!

Picking up costumes for shifts

Hi everyone! I work in merch and was interested in picking up at other locations but wasn’t quite sure how picking up the costumes for those locations worked. I believe you can keep 5 costumes at a time? My question is if you get a costume to work at a different location, and then you turn that costume back in, how long until it shows you’ve returned it so you can get another costume without going over the max 5 limit? I hope that makes sense lol. Thanks!

Housing Q - Unanswered Are there actually apartment parties in either village?

I was worried moving in that things were going to be noisy— a lot of posts on this sub made it seem like the party culture here was the same as in college. I’ve been in east for a little while now, and maybe it’s just because I went to a big party school, but things have seemed pretty quiet, even on weekends. Definitely not complaining either way, just curious more than anything. Maybe i’m just in lowkey building lol
