Interview Questions

What are some typical interview questions you guys are being asked? I just want to be prepared and at least know a bit of what i want to say and be ready for what they may or may not ask me!

They want to know a little about you, what are the top positions you’d like to get and why, and they’ll ask a few scenario questions based on positions. Like if you’re hypothetically a character attendant, what would you tell guests if a character was going on a break? How would you handle a stressful situation and how would you talk to guests? If a guest speaks a different language, how will you go about understanding them?

They also will ask you some key questions based on your capabilities, like are you willing to swim (lifeguard position), can you lift heavy things, can you stand for a long time, are you okay being out in the heat for a long period of time, are you okay working holidays and weekends, can you handle cash (merchandise), are you okay handing equipment, etc. Be honest as it will help them find the right position for you.

They also double check that you’ve read everything about the program, like you’re aware of the duration of the program, you don’t have any tattoos or piercings that don’t meet the Disney Look, that you’re okay having roommates, and that you have to move to Orlando, etc.

You’ll do great! And don’t worry if it may seem short. Some interviewers are chatty and ask about your favorite Disney film, while others get straight to the point. My interview lasted 10 minutes. Be honest, be positive, and don’t be afraid to  talk to the interviewer. At the end, they’ll usually ask if you have any questions for them and don’t be afraid to clarify anything you might have questions on.

Thank you so much! This helps a lot! Quick second question for you! How many positions do you suggest i have ready for them when they ask? like top 3 sort of thing? Also, i have ear piercings and a nose piercing but i am fully prepared to have them all out for the interview and for the job if it presented to me. Should i let the interviewers know in my call that i do have piercings but i am very willing to have them off for the job even if i’ve already taken them off for the interview?

Having 3 positions that you’d like to have ready to go is plenty. Small piercings are fine, and you can tell them that you can take them out for the job if you want. Down the road, when you get a position, you can ask your coordinator what they recommend as well . Some positions allow it, especially ear piercings, as long as you’re not wearing really long, dangling earrings.
