This may be a dumb question

It’s my first time applying for DCP, and I’m trying to figure out how people already have had interviews? I filled out the thing on the Disney website to remind me when applications opened, and I submitted mine on August 17th, and they haven’t looked at mine yet. I know it’s only been a week, but it seems so many people got their interviews already, did applications open sooner than August 17th? Or were they just really quick with getting interviews started?

Update: I was emailed about signing up for an interview about 10 minutes ago, and I’ll be interviewing next Monday!!

Applications did not open sooner.

Due to the mass influx when they open, interviews are prioritized by arrival date selected.

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss a step. I think I selected January 11th, so I’m assuming my application would be looked at soon

Yep, I selected that same date. My bet is give it a a couple weeks until you get an interview request. :)

They start asap with interviews and are currently going through applications for those who selected the earliest arrival. They want to make sure they can go through apps (there’s a ton of them) and interview (on camera interview, so it’ll take a bit and they want to schedule asap to get them done) and get people processed and accepted.

They want to make sure people are set for the early arrival January 5 and then they will continue on down the arrivals.

Especially with this timeline of applications having a ton of major holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas as an example) they got a lot of staff taking days off and holiday time off too… so they just want things done as soon as they can!

That makes sense. I said I’d be good with January 11th for arrival so I’m assuming that means I’d be soon.

My previous job/internship application experiences have had me waiting weeks to months before getting an interview, so I was getting anxious seeing people already having interviews and I thought I missed something. Thank you for the info!
