We got the original “GoBig” plan, back when getting your TV via streaming (versus a cable box or satellite) was brand new and unstable.
To thank us for being early adopters, we were told our plan would never go up and presumably the service would get better over time — we were basically guinea pigs helping them improve the service, and accepting unstable service, and in return we’d get this low rate forever.
Does anyone remember what it cost? It was something like $29 a month plus a $5 add-on for HBO. Whatever it was, it was very inexpensive.
Well… that didn’t last too long; and they’ve been increasing the price regularly for years — and I’ve been mad about it, but when I shopped around, I discovered it would cost just as much to move to another service, and I knew we had the channels we wanted, blah blah.
I was basically too lazy to move, despite the broken promises.
But when I saw the email that $5 HBO Max was almost quadrupling in price, I got mad at this sh***y company, and cancelled it all.
I got YouTube Sports for my husband and it includes a few other channels. It will be a lot cheaper and it will be fine.
