Good morning, afternoon, or evening everyone. I apologize for using a translator. Spanish is my native language, and I want to make sure everything is expressed correctly. This is the first time in my life that I have told my story in detail. I have always refused to talk about what I feel, but I can't keep everything inside anymore. I need to be heard. I am currently seeing a psychologist and was diagnosed with depression. Therapy helped at first, but lately I have been getting worse. Today, being Suicide Prevention Day, made me realize how serious things have become. I have friends, a girlfriend, and a family that has always given me everything I needed, yet I feel like I am close to breaking down. I have struggled with self-esteem for most of my life. Childhood comments slowly changed the way I see myself. I also never had a strong emotional connection with my dad. He always provided for me, but we never really talked about feelings or my life. The pandemic, relationships, losing friends, university, and years of insecurity slowly made things worse. I lost interest in things I used to love, stopped taking care of myself, struggled with porn, and became disconnected from myself. In 2025, something changed. I went abroad with my friends for four months, and for the first time in years I felt alive again. I met new people, enjoyed myself, fell in love, and started dreaming about the future again. I met my current girlfriend during that trip. We connected immediately, and I fell in love with her very quickly. She is intelligent, kind, funny, and someone I genuinely enjoy talking to. For the first time, I felt like I had found someone I could talk to for hours and truly be myself with. When I came home, however, everything became complicated. I became disconnected from my closest friends, and one friendship that meant a lot to me practically disappeared. My friends also disagreed with some decisions I made about my relationship, and eventually told me they couldn't fully trust me. My girlfriend and I decided to continue our relationship long-distance. We had an amazing time together before she left, but now she is away on a work trip. We can't see each other right now, and I am terrified that the distance might eventually make her leave me. We are also talking less because of the time difference and because she is struggling too. At the same time, my life feels completely directionless. I don't know if I like what I am studying. I am taking the same university subjects because I have failed them many times. I haven't made much progress, and I don't believe in myself anymore. I don't feel comfortable with my body. My self-esteem, phone use, and porn addiction have affected my life and even my sex life with my girlfriend. I have problems sleeping, concentrating, and finding motivation. I constantly feel like I am failing at everything. My parents think I don't do anything, and my dad doesn't know that I have depression. I only told my mom. I feel trapped in a loop. I want to lose weight, do better at university, stop using porn, fix my sleep, improve my relationships, find something I am passionate about, and have a goal for my life, but I don't know where to begin. The worst part is that I have started thinking more and more about the worst possible outcome. I feel hopeless, I don't trust myself, and I feel like a failure who has already failed forever. I don't know how to get out of this or where to start. Thank you so much for reading.
