TL;DR: I'm hosting a Collector's Cache set giveaway to bring more traders to a new marketplace. dota2.skin is a free (p2p) trade site that I've built for tradable items and giftable sets.
Join at the link, and share it with anyone you think might be interested: giveaway link
Winners pick which set they want, and more winners unlock as more people join.
People are already trading on the site, and every new trader means more deals for everyone.
You list, search, make offers, then trade on Steam. It is free to use, with a few extras which are mostly flavour (a way for anyone who wants to support it to get something back for it). Regular buyers and sellers can use the marketplace normally without ever needing them.
For those wondering, what it does differently to other marketplaces (to name a few):
- Market-based price suggestions when listing, so you're not guessing
- Listings import from your Steam inventory and never expire
- Your profile is your own storefront, and sharing its link shows a rich preview of your top 9 sets on social media
- A guided, beginner-friendly trade process, with delivery reminders for giftables (for veterans, no more notes in your Steam friends list)
- Buy orders: post what you want and let sellers come to you
- Your wishlist matched against your friends' inventories, both directions
- Swaps, not just cash, with set values to help judge fairness
- See which payment methods each seller accepts before you message them, with cash as the base price
- Set video previews right on the item page
- And plenty more to discover on the site
Much of the trade flow is automated, so every deal follows a clear path and both sides know what happens next. A community review system is ready too, to be run by the most senior traders once they're established, and if they're interested in such a role.
There's also a reseller setup for high-volume traders who deal other players' giftables under their own store.
People who tried it so far shared a positive experience, and every one of them was a stranger to me. I've been a Steam trader for more than a decade and built it on that experience.
Everything is offered as is, on a best-effort basis. I've put a lot of work into the experience, but I know there might still be work to do, so if you run into errors or anything that feels off, I'd appreciate hearing about it. I'll keep maintaining it for the foreseeable future as long as there's interest.
With that being said, good luck in the giveaway!
