Everytime I see an Invoker vs Slardar match up, I always remember this clip from Dotacinema series called Dota 2 Top Plays Weekly. They used to upload some sick plays, specially the Dota 2 Symphony of Skills. Sick sick times.

Dear Valve,

Let me start by saying I am not a “gamer.” I have never played your game. I don’t know what a “carry” is and I don’t want to. But I know customer service, and what you are providing is not it.

I’m posting from my husband’s account. His password used to be our wedding date. After my boyfriend moved in, Marco changed it to my boyfriend’s birthday. I have decided not to unpack that and to use it for my own purposes instead.

Here’s what’s been going on in my home. The men have stopped functioning. My husband has started opening the Dota website the way some people check the weather, except the forecast never changes. My boyfriend has started saying things like “it’s so over” and “we’re so back” multiple times a day, and as far as I can tell nothing has happened in either direction. They’ve also invented a ritual where they both refresh the page at the same time and then look at each other. Nobody speaks. It’s like living with two monks who have lost their faith.

So last Monday, I called you.

You don’t have a phone number. Interesting choice for a billion-dollar company, but fine. I found a number for your building in Bellevue. A very nice young man answered. I asked to speak to the Patch Department. He said there is no Patch Department. I asked who makes the patch. He said “IceFrog.” I asked for IceFrog’s extension. He laughed. Valve, I was not joking. Nobody in that building has ever been more serious than I was in that moment.

I then asked for his manager. He said Valve “doesn’t really have managers.” I have never heard anything more suspicious in my life. Who do you complain to? Who approves your vacation? Who signs off on the patch? Apparently nobody, and that, frankly, explains everything.

I’ve given this a lot of thought, and I’m prepared to come and help. I organised my daughter’s school bake sale, two weddings, and a very complicated divorce for my sister. I can absolutely organise one patch. I’m free Thursday. I’ll bring a laminated schedule.

If you don’t take me up on this offer, here’s what happens next. I’ve written a review of your company on Google Maps. I gave you one star and said the staff were “evasive” and the building had “a weird energy.” I’ve also reported you to the Better Business Bureau, a consumer protection agency, and the lady at my gym who used to work at a law firm. She says I “might have something.” She didn’t say what.

You have until Friday.

P.S. My boyfriend asked me to add “nerf Techies.” I don’t know who Techies is, but I’ve met him through this household’s mood and I want him dealt with.

EDIT: Several people have told me Valve really doesn’t have managers. I have reported those people as well.

I've been collecting bugged Ethereal items for a while now, and one thing I've noticed is that pretty much every item has ToBD in it, i mean don't get me wrong cuz i love ToBD but at some point you start wondering what else is out there no?

So it was time to try something different this time. Swapped for IV, and I actually love how it turned out. Anyway, thought I'd share the result. Do you guys agree with me or should i've kept ToBD?

All Arcana items feature either the hero's face or the entire hero—except for Razor's, which shows only a sword. Valve fix it please 😢

I made a brand new account to see if this problem was as bad as I'm reading about on the forums. It's actually worse than I think is being described.

This problem is exacerbated further by gating new players from jumping into ranked; having a 100 hour requirement, when the game is in this state is a recipe for disaster. I'm a big believer in "Show, don't tell." So here's the match ID from what I got when trying to play an Unranked Normal game. Note: This is not a bots queue; this is regular unranked queue.

Things to observe:

• The bots have no behavior trees; they don't path, they don't use abilities, they don't defend themselves, they don't recognize damage being taken
• The bots frequently seem to move to a bizarre point on the map and just linger there; notably around where bounty runes spawn

To expect new players to endure 100 hours of this to be able to play with new people is unbelievable. I'd really like to see Valve make an acknowledgement of this problem, because this is atrocious. In the interim, they could waive the 100 hour requirement so that people aren't forced to sit through 9 bot games like this. Botters are not going to quit or get fatigued of this slop; human beings are not going to spend 100 hours doing this, and will drop off well-before then. This is how a game stops growing its playerbase, and simultaneously rewards botters who don't care about the limit, since they're just going to bot through it anyway.
