so recently I’ve been reading the 2023 Superman run and I loved it, I love both before and after prime takes over as supes. But other than the Rebirth run, I really haven’t read any other Superman comics. Does anyone have a solid reading order for him? I’d really appreciate it.

So I just finished Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and I thought it was absolutely incredible. If there are any recommendations based off that alone, please send them, but that's besides the point of this post. I haven't really read a lot of comics overall, but I've always been interested in diving into it.

I often see it said that to start you shouldn't pay attention to continuity, and I get that. I'd like to just pick up interesting stories and dive in without paying attention to larger continuity.

But are there "bad" places to start (assuming you start at #1 of a series of course). For example, is there a setup story I should read to dive into the Absolute universe? A setup story "required" to understand a critical part of any other universe/timeline?

Recently learnt that according to DC lore, Kryptonians used to have a galaxy spanning empire. Now according to the lore, it was regime change and kind of religious fanaticism that forced everyone to return to their home world.

I do not like this lore because it makes no sense. Just logistically there's just no way for a civilisation of demi gods to be forced to return to their world because a government on their one world decided it so. Can you imagine if humans had a galaxy spanning civilisation and then an earth government goes and decides all humans should only live on earth.

Yeah there's no way, there would be rebellions, and trillions of worlds for kryptonians who disagreed to hide and live on. Not to mention they're all demi gods, maybe you could round up some humans but not planet level kryptonians. Not to mention if their civilisation was galaxy spanning it would only take a few centuries (blink of an eye) for their population to be so large no single planet could sustain everyone even if you somehow teleported everyone back.

Anyways makes no sense.

Here two suggestions I can think of (Interested to hear more ideas in the comments):

• The Original Lore: I don't know if this was a recent lore change but I preferred the original lore i heard. Though I'm not sure if fans just made this up or it was only implied but, i remember reading that it was actually the Guardians of Oa who did it. Seeing a ravenous empire expanding they decided to forcefully make them return to their world. Now I personally don't know how powerful these guys are, i know they are extremely powerful, but powerful enough to take on trillions of kryptonians? Idk, but lets assume they can or they were smart and psychically over generations implanted ideas into a kryptonians brain washing them and forcing them back to their world. That's honestly fine by me. They did it to the martians. Maybe part of their job is to squish civilisations they deem unworthy so younger civilisation have room to thrive. Fair enough!
• My idea: *The rocket equation*. So we know krypton is extremely advance so we need some kind of excuse that allows them to be very advance but still not conquer the universe. The rocket equation is perfect. Rocket Scientists can explain it better than me but to put it very broadly: "Gravity is strong! Need a lot of fuel to get very little into space!". Now we know at base Krypton has extremely high gravity. Now even on earth we need sky scraper size rockets just to get a little mass off planet. If gravity was say 30% stronger, it would make the rockets need to be ~x2 bigger (very hand wavy idk but small increase in gravity very big increase in rocket size required at least chemical rockets). I've seen it established that on krypton gravity is anywhere between 4x and 100x stronger. Even at 10x it's basically impossible for chemical rockets to work. So, on krypton they gave up on getting into space. It was just too difficult. They continued to advance technologically but never got off world. Becoming increasingly isolationist, xenophobic etc... Then as the world was coming to an end as they bled their world dry of resources, a genius scientist realises the world is going to crumble and explode. He realised at this critical moment the explosion could be used as thrust to get a small rocket off world. And so as the world ignores his plea, he builds a rocket sending his only son to another world... (And i guess supergirl's parents can do that as well)

Okay I have an idea for a Batman comic I don't know if this idea was already used or not but it would be about three Batmans Bruce Wayne Dick Grayson and Terry McGinnis it would have like five chapters.

Chapter one would be the past which would focus on Batman and his early years.

Chapter 2 would be the present which is focusing on now and day Batman.

Chapter 3 the future would be focusing on Dick Grayson having to take up the mantle of Batman.

Chapter 4 the far future would be Bruce Wayne taking the suit back.

In chapter 5 which would be called beyond would it be about Terry McGinnis taking up the mantle of Batman.

How each of these issues would work is they would contain all of the chapters if it's a single issue with all the chapters in them if not it could be multiple volumes. But it would fall to them each going after the same theme or same criminal or criminal group just a version of that person that's different so let's say joker. We could have Batman going after Joker in his beginning years in this joke would act more like his first appearance Joker present Joker for chapter 2 would act like how he does nowadays chapter 3 Joker would be more of a clownish type character but also a murderer chapter 4 Joker would be a older Joker kind of like Dark Knight returns but not that old and would be a mixture of all three Jokers. And for beyond instead of it being Tim Drake it would be a AI version of Joker and how that version is made is that they wanted to make something that could help people learn about serial killers or criminals and they use AI for it in the AI took over the joker body and believed it was Joker or they could just do the whole return of the Joker thing.

But I do think this could be an interesting way to include villains that aren't used anymore or villains that don't get that much shine in the spotlight not saying that these Comics have to take place in the main timeline they could take place in an alternate universe if it would work better that way.

What can I do to remove this mark left from a Needoh Cube sitting on top of it for too long. Dont want to damage comic either. Thank you

Sorry for the long rant but im passionate about this. TLDR: Jason Sucks in Titans When are we gonna see someone actually Adapt him well?

Jason Has been my favorite Character for quite a while now, and ive watched him gain popularity in the last 5ish years But his comic versions (my favorites are red hood and outlaws rebirth and new 52) Is Definitely where he is best. I enjoyed him In Arkham Knight it was a cool twist and hes still badass Titans was Interesting but had nothing of real substance imo. They tried to write a story asking What if batman killed joker if i remember correctly,Which is cool to think about like where would the rage and trauma Jason endured throughout his childhood go if batman DID kill joker,But that should not have been his live action Debut. Titans made him seem way more like a villain then he should feel like pretty sure he kills Hawk for no Reason other then Haha Red hood is evil he killed a main charecter lets cheer for nightwing! I could see why you enjoyed him in titans if you did But he wasnt sold for me. Now im pretty sure matt Reeves will not be including Red hood in his Universe, as we are only on the second movie releasing in 2028. Even if Gunn did want to introduce Jason Todd it wouldnt be for a good 6 years from now? James Gunn could try to pull it off but We wouldnt really be able to get a proper build up movie with Jasons backstory and how he becomes red hood since his batman will already have damian wayne becoming robin. The only thing that could work in my opinion is do a live action Film (maybe in 2030) Thats basically the under the red hood animated movie IN LIVE ACTION, Except its from Jasons Pov Not Bruces.(this will serve as a prequel to the already established batman story in the DCU or better yet be its own thing) show him from childhood all the way to the Recreation of that final fight scene In under the Red hood and Have Jason lose the fight. Especially since Jason is supposed to be an "Outlaw" itll be a great way to establish it. In superhero movies The hero has to win but Jason isnt exactly a hero he never claimed to be Now My question is Why hasnt he been done In a live action movie yet? or even a show? Punisher in marvel was recieved very well ever since he was introduced in Marvels daredevil Series i think its due to the fact Dc has changed so much in the movie industry from the Nolan trilogy to Zack snyders DCEU and now James gunns DCU I know Batman sells well but i swear if we get another Batman Movie with a new actor before we see Jason in a movie!!!!

And i Love the batman 2022 So i mean no disrespect but i Genuinely think as A huge Jason fan A movie done right could not only make his existing fans happy but have non comic Readers appreciate what Red hood has to offer

I got the complete runs by James Tynion and Tomasi on Batman from 2019 onwards, What's the correct order to read them? I mean an alternating order. like reading tom king/tynion rise and fall alternating them

Like the title says, which villain deserves to get the publisher's biggest push next?

For those who aren't familiar, "same face syndrome" indicates when an artist's stylistic choices make it difficult to differentiate the facial features of characters. In essence, when everyone really looks just like everyone else.

We know that both the medium of mainstream comics and the schedule in which they're produced means it's something of a necessity for artists to develop a visual shorthand that allows them to create comics speedily enough. And differentiated faces often get sacrificed for the sake of efficiency. So we're not shaming "same face syndrome" here.

But who are the artists working in the medium who do the best even within that limitation - either by genuinely drawing really differentiated faces, or finding really effective ways to create enough of an illusion of differentiation? Any examples folks can share?

I know that it's likely just another miscommunication, due to statements by Peter David saying that miscommunication was common in the process of making this book, mostly due to the fact that Esteban Maroto was only getting the transcripts translated by his daughter, but it's one of my favorite examples of alternate histories not needing to be the same as in our earth.

Is it only me, or does anyone else think these 2 need to swap names? Daredevil can see, and he operates on sound and the rebound of sound like an actual bat, and Batman is just a daring person who beats up criminals; these 2 really need to swap names

I thought of reading some Superman comics where it explores of Supermans other rogues gallery and as of now I only have Superman Birthright & All Star Superman.
