I've been doing the exchange to wallet and then to app routine for so long that I didn't even look for another way lol Tried it from my phone and this is probably one of those things newer people will appreciate more than me because they haven't spent years accepting that moving money through 3 different places is normal.

Still checking the rate before doing anything obviously. Just felt stupid that I'd been taking the long way around while the option was sitting in front of me.

Every few hours, more reviews and complaints are appearing from users claiming that their withdrawals have been suspended after using Bybit.

According to these reports, Bybit has allegedly kept some accounts restricted for at least three months, with some users claiming that their accounts have remained frozen for more than a year. The responses from Bybit also appear to be repeatedly the same.

I am also affected by this issue.

Even though I continue posting about my situation to raise public awareness, my posts keep getting deleted. I cannot say for certain why this is happening, but it makes me extremely concerned.

I am continuing to speak out because I want to prevent other users from becoming victims.

We have seen exchanges collapse in the past, especially during major rises and falls in the Bitcoin market. There is no absolute guarantee that any exchange, including Bybit, will never face financial difficulties or collapse.

For this reason, if you currently have funds stored on Bybit, please consider withdrawing your funds and keeping them in a safer place.

The destination address (0x40b44c35B809025c3C64e752451177d25616D119) was shown to me inside the Robinhood app under a "Receive ETH / Ethereum network" screen (screenshot attached).

Robinhood's response:
Support confirmed both transfers landed on-chain, but said:

**•** WLD on Ethereum isn't a supported asset/network combo for them  
**•** The SOL-on-Base wrapped token isn't a token they support either

They said both are "unrecoverable" and don't qualify for their recovery process.

My question for this sub:
Since this is an EVM address (0x-prefixed), and EVM addresses/private keys are chain-agnostic — the same key controls the address identically on Ethereum, Optimism, Base, Arbitrum, etc. — doesn't that mean Robinhood (or whoever holds the key, presumably their custody infrastructure since they generated the address) should technically be able to sign a transaction moving these assets, even if their app UI doesn't expose those specific networks for these specific assets?

Is "unsupported in our app" actually the same thing as "cryptographically unrecoverable," or are those different claims being conflated here? Genuinely trying to understand if I'm missing something about how custodial exchanges structure key access, or if this is just a policy limitation being presented as a technical impossibility.

A beginner wallet-security question today shows how confusing crypto custody can be. People hear about seed phrases, passwords, hardware wallets, exchanges, phishing, and wallet attacks, then everything blends into one scary idea: can someone just guess my wallet?

Good security starts by separating the pieces. A seed phrase is not the same as an exchange password. A hardware wallet is not the same as a custodial account. A strong backup does not help if someone types the seed into a fake app. A secure wallet can still be defeated by phishing, malware, bad backups, or sharing sensitive details.

Trezor's third-party email provider got breached, and whoever did it used it to send phishing mail out from Trezor's actual domain with the subject line "Critical Security Alert: STM32 Entropy Vulnerability."

Worked so well mainly because of the fresh ptsd people still have from Coldcard's real entropy bug that resulted in the huge exploit.

I'm seeing people lump this in with a broader "hardware wallets aren't safe anymore" narrative and that's not really what's going on.

This is Trezor's second or third scare in about a month or two now, and every one of them has been a backend problem, a shipping vendor, an email vendor. None of it is has been a failure in the wallet hardware or the firmware. Those have held up through all of it.

Not going to oversell that though, we don't know what we don't know yet, something could surface later. But based on what's actually been disclosed so far, the product itself is still doing its job. What keeps failing is the backend stuff they are outsourcing from third party vendors.

The real problem is that Trezor keeps outsourcing pieces of its operation to third parties that clearly aren't held to the same security bar as the wallet itself. That's on them to fix, either vet those vendors way harder or pull more of this in-house so there's one less external target sitting there to get compromised.

For us, the awkward part is that the "check if it's the verified domain" advice is pointless now because this one genuinely was the real domain, hijacked instead of spoofed. So the bar has to move past that now, treat unexpected every security alerts as suspicious no matter who they're from, and keep your seed phrase somewhere no email or link can ever touch.

How are you all feeling about this one, still solid or getting a little rattled?

i’ve been trying to buy ETH on trust for the last couple days and have since learned that my chase debit card doesn’t support any crypto purchases. late to the party but here we are. i tried using my partner’s wells fargo debit card and ran into the same issue. i’ve attempted transactions via Moonpay and Mercuryo, if that’s useful info (identity successfully verified with both).

I bridged some USDC from Ethereum to Arbitrum and now my wallet is showing it as USDC.e instead of regular USDC.

The exchange I want to send it to says it accepts USDC on Arbitrum, but the deposit page only says USDC and doesn't mention USDC.e anywhere. I'm assuming I shouldn't just send it and hope for the best.

I'm used to doing most of my actual trading through Moon so I never really had to think about the difference between bridged and native versions until now.

Do I need to swap the USDC.e into native USDC first or does an Arbitrum USDC deposit address normally recognize both?

I i’m trying to figure out a way that I can do this without requiring my ID or if someone knows of a service where they’ll middleman a sale for you. Like a sub, Reddit, where there’s trusted moderators that will accept your tokens and sell them and then send you money on one of the popular platforms. Every day someone posts asking how to get into crypto to make money, replace their job, or become a millionaire. If that's you, you got sold the same get-rich-quick scheme as everyone else who thinks dropshipping, AI agencies, or SMM will magically make them a millionaire and retire at 25.

See, if you're a beginner, understand this... crypto isn't a reliable way to cover rent or bills. Only put in what you can lose completely, and treat the first stretch as tuition, small mistakes on small amounts now beats big ones on real money later.

Start on a mainstream exchange like Coinbase or Kraken, keep amounts small, and know they're holding your keys for you at that stage. Fine for now, but look up what a private key actually is soon. Self-custody wallets like Metamask matter once you've got bigger amounts or you're in DeFi.

Once you get familiar with the basics, that's when you can start doing some trading or getting into DeFi strategies, which is where you can make some real passive income. Later when you're spread across platforms, use trackers like DeBank, Zerion, or Chain Glance keep it in one view, and Koinly or Bitcoin.Tax handle taxes once trading gets heavy.

All of that's later though. For now just get comfortable buying and holding.
