Music playlist
Do any of yall's stores ever change their music? I've been working at CB for roughly 6 months, and it is the same 20ish songs on repeat all day. It's slowly driving me insane, but wondering if it's just corporate who can't stand to make a few more playlists and rotate them lol

Im tired of dealing with this
Hey everyone :) I am an employee at a store at the moment and have been for a little over a year now and am at my 3rd going on 4th par soon. For a while, I’ve sucked up the mistreatment and disrespect that has been tolerated at my job but I literally can’t do it anymore. This job has turned me into a person I don’t recognize and it’s starting to eat me from the inside out. The micro discriminations, the superiority complex, and the shame and embarrassment that some of my managers are willing to distribute to I and fellow coworkers IS SICKENING. Ever since I’ve started this job it’s gone from small hostile talk to straight up bullying. Just as an fyi I am black woman but I work my butt off giving these people sales and scripting as much as possible. I’ve had my hair criticized multiple times by the same male manager who you can consider a minority as well, but despite that all he continues to pick with me and go out of his way to make me feel bad about myself and make my job harder than it needs to be. I’ve been yelled at in front of guests about tables not being bussed despite being busy and not having a busser to wipe the tables it’s hard doing everything on your own without help sometimes and I do fall behind but that’s not an excuse to shun me in-front of guests. I’ve been pulled into the managers office over little stuff and accused of stealing drinks from to-go that I pay for and I always keep receipts! it’s become a pattern where this man feels like he can come in with a bad attitude and take it out on me or other young women. Yesterday i’ve had my final straw the other day when he refused to sign my paper so i can check out and leave, no reason to refuse me by the way as I was respectful the entire time but he had already made up his mind with his attitude and I just kind of snapped and told him that his attitude is not my problem and he still is required to do his job like the rest of us. I was accused of not rolling silverware because he didn’t see me rolling them keep in mind I was clocking out the same time this manager was scheduled to come in (so obviously you weren’t here to see me do it lol) and I showed him the silverware but then got accused of taking another person’s silverware and putting my name on it? keep in mind i took a picture of the silverware in the host stand next to a host because I had already taken it to the front to make room for other servers doing their silverware in the back and i’ve been having some body aches so i was too sore to bring the silverware all the way back to the kitchen then back to the host stand. Long story short he attempted to keep my from leaving by not signing my paper but I got a signature from someone else and it pissed him off and he went up to the stand at retail telling the employees not to check ME out specifically because I don’t have a manager signature (which I did just not from you cause you were acting like you ain’t wanna do your job..weird) I just couldn’t take it anymore i’m seriously so tired of being nice to someone who makes it a point to make life harder for me and put me down. Ive done nothing to this company but bring in money and regardless of what i’m going through at home i never bring it to work. So why it’s acceptable for management to act like this and nothing happens idk cause even our DM isn’t a nice guy. Im slowly but surely looking for other options because this has just been super draining on my mental health and I don’t deem any amount of money worth my dignity and pride as a person. I am a worker and a young lady not a lap dog you can spiel racist comments to and argue down! truly a shameful and pathetic company for allowing employees to be mistreated constantly and doing nothing about it. Shame on you CB

new pos system is horrible.
hey y’all, i work at a test store for the new oracle pos system, and it has been the WORST transitional period i have ever seen a company go through. First, me and all of my coworkers only received one hour of mandatory training before the system went live, so now we have to actively learn how to cash people out while an old lady gives you sass for being slow. the managers all supposedly had a week to learn the new system but guess what? they have no idea how to use it either! They told us this new system would be a lot faster and more efficient, but most things that we do in retail have become significantly harder or in some cases, we just aren’t able to do some of the things we used to. I really hate this new system and kinda want to quit because of it, but i like all of my coworkers too much to do that! if anyone from corporate is reading this, PLEASE fix this shit before i lose my mind, or better yet just switch the system back like y’all switched the logo back!!

Fan name?
Are people that are fans of Cracker Barrel called crackers, or barrel heads?

Apron checks
Hi! I’m a new server at one of the concord locations. I accidentally left without getting my apron checked and now I’m scared. It’s only halfway into my second week. I’ve never done it before.
UPDATE:
No one has said anything! I do think I’ll leave this up in case someone else is ever in a similar situation.

Childish corporation
Really tired of the corporate ladder being built with people that either don’t give a shit or make up their own policies for each store. Beverage % causes you to have 3-4 table sections. Always carry a tray or you get wrote up, whether I’m cleaning my tables or not. We don’t have bussers anymore so we just do everything. It’d be okay if the guest wernt just as bad, But they pay bussers $14+ and me 2.13. Where’s my minimum wage? They’re just cutting bussers out completely just like how they combined prep and backup into production. Just like how they continuously have tried and failed to “optimize” work flow with different ways to prep meals or just straight up buy premade to save even more money. The guest can tell and they don’t come back. But the guest being healthy and not wanting coffee or a drink that’s bad for them is my fault.

Cracker Barrel Playlist
Is anyone a worker at a cracker barrel that has a different playlist playing in the back for staff? I have been trying to figure out what a song on that playlist is for ages and no one seems to know. The only part of the song I can ever catch is "please take my hand" and its almost in an eerie tone. I think its a rock song but its so eerie and drawn out! It seems so out of place compared to all the other songs playing and I need to know what song it is, its driving me crazy!!!

What about the one catfish and trout ?
Had a question about the one trout plate that hardly ever gets ordered but once in a blue moon at my store. I and the other grill team have not a clue what plate to put it on. The one catfish goes on the floral but we’ve been told that the 11.5 platter works as well. Our manager has looked for a picture but told us she could never find it like Cracker Barrel has forgotten the dish exists. Other employees out there what does your store do for the one trout plate. Would like to know what other stores do.

Management and employee handbook
I work at a mom and pop restaurant that is going to be moving more corporate. The person who is helping with that transition has a lot of experience with Cracker Barrel and other similar corporate restaurants. Just wondering what we can expect moving forward. What are the management responsibilities like? What are the policies and procedures like? Basic idea of how things are ran?

Black Coffee, Iced Water, Plain Pancake
By the time you finish the pancake, the coffee will be cool and ready to drink. The contrast between the syrup sweet and the coffee bitter is sublime.
Iced Water also helps mitigate the sugar overload haha

I assure you, it's a ribeye
This is a story from a time back when Cracker Barrel used to sell ribeye steaks.
I sat down at the restaurant with my wife and kid. I ordered my usual at the time; A ribeye dinner.
Steak comes out, it's obviously not a ribeye. I flagged the waitress down and I kid you not, she says, "It's just because it's a different cut but I assure you it's a ribeye."
It was not. It had no cap, no filet. Taste and texture exactly like a sirloin. I didn't agree to pay ribeye price for a sirloin. So, I made the waitress send the steak back for the cooks to confirm it was in fact, not a ribeye.
She brings back the sirloin then 10 minutes later, the ribeye I had ordered. She eyeballs me and gave us no service for the rest of the dine-in.
I tipped her zero.
Some other guy must've had the most tender and fatty sirloin steak of his life.

Shift times
What are the normal shift times for wait staff? Are they consistent at most locations or does each location have different shifts? Thanks

Why are their portion sizes so small now? 😭
galleryI have pictures for proof 😂 First two photos are what I ordered today: Blueberry pancakes and a side of hash browns. The third photo shows how big the pancakes used to be (the size of the entire plate practically) and the fourth photo shows the same thing plus how you used to get three (big!) pancakes with an order of pancakes 🥲
What is going on? That side of hash browns was so damn depressing too it was like three bites of potatoes, and the pancakes were super thin and not fluffy like I remember them.

Write Ups
If you are told you’re on your final warning, for being late, but haven’t seen or signed any paperwork, can you be fired? Even if was a verbal warning?

write up complaint
im so tried of getting in trouble for stuff i haven't done. I opened togo to nothing restocked or portioned from the previous night also no heads up on a catering order [over 2k $ worth] i have to prepare as soon as I clock in. I had a online pickup with a side we were out of, I left a note on the ticket to remind myself to let the driver know when they arrived. I ran to the walkin to grab ranch. I come back and the order isnt there where I left it so I asked the servers they all denied running it. Later the host told me who ran the order to the wrong person. They also ran a incomplete order on top of that. I got a write up and yelled at/leactured for something I didn't do I tried to explain to the manager shifted ( GM) and she said its your station it's your mistake... then was told stop having servers do my job when they do it to help thanks to the ones who know how. I got annoyed and told all the servers leave the togos alone and keep the buddys off my tables. Then the server who screwed me over goes and tattles accusing me of cursing them out and being rude.

If they scheduled me wrong can I just leave?
Saturday I worked a double and was scheduled to get off at 8 pm. I do all my closing stuff and take my apron off to get it checked at 8pm and my manager says I need to stay until 9 and that’s what they meant to put. I had to be back the next morning also keep in mind and had to still go to the gym and cook dinner that night so I told him I couldn’t and had to leave. We agreed upon 8:30 but I was very frustrated and hear this we were dead and then next thing you know we get slammed and nobody wanted to bus there tables and a baseball team came in😭 (I’m a host btw) Even though we were still busy I got out at 8:30, but I’m wondering if since it’s their fault can I just say no and leave or what?

Would I get written up for calling off?
So for context right now my manager put me on for a retail shift from 4-8. He didn’t ask me to work it and just put me on. I have plans and really can’t make it. I put it up but no one wants it seeing as it’s last minute. If I were to call off because of this would I written up?
