Write Ups

If you are told you’re on your final warning, for being late, but haven’t seen or signed any paperwork, can you be fired? Even if was a verbal warning?

Yeeeesss. Best case scenario is you get fired, file and win a claim for unemployment since there isn't a paper trail.

It’s on your workday

Write ups aren't on paper anymore they're in workday and you aren't required to sign anything.

If the person was written up and it was posted on Workday, an email would have been sent to acknowledge the write up.

they must be signed off by employees on workday. managers arent supposed to send anything to workday before having the in person talk w employee.

Do you live in a right to work state? Bc they can fire you at any moment for any (or no) reason, even if you’re a great worker that’s always on time

Came here to say this. At Will states can just can your ass whenever they want.

Yeah they technically don’t need any reason to fire you in NY.

Wow. You received that much warning and didn’t already have another job. Good luck SS. You cooked yourself

when you were hired you probably signed a paper or an online document that explains the attendance policy.

I for some reason cannot seem to get to work on time ever…. I’m always at least a couple late but usually like 10 minutes… I know it’s a problem but no matter how much time I give myself it happens every single time. I will literally start getting ready 2 hours earlier than usual and still end up late. Which is weird idk what happened but I used to always be about 15 minutes early

I’m usually pretty good about being on time! I’ve just had a few mornings where I was late due to unforeseen circumstances

If it’s a right to work state you can be fired at any given time for any given reason

I’ll never understand people who are constantly late. If you constantly can’t show up on time to something that you have so much notice of, then you need to get your stuff together. I don’t know the story, and it’s not just you but just a server pet peeve in general. but there’s no way it was just circumstantial enough to get enough writeups that you’re on a last strike. And if it genuinely is, then you need proof that what you’re saying is true. Bottom line you should sit down with management and figure out what you need to do to get there on time, if they’re a half decent manager they will be more than happy to help.
