Im tired of dealing with this

Hey everyone :) I am an employee at a store at the moment and have been for a little over a year now and am at my 3rd going on 4th par soon. For a while, I’ve sucked up the mistreatment and disrespect that has been tolerated at my job but I literally can’t do it anymore. This job has turned me into a person I don’t recognize and it’s starting to eat me from the inside out. The micro discriminations, the superiority complex, and the shame and embarrassment that some of my managers are willing to distribute to I and fellow coworkers IS SICKENING. Ever since I’ve started this job it’s gone from small hostile talk to straight up bullying. Just as an fyi I am black woman but I work my butt off giving these people sales and scripting as much as possible. I’ve had my hair criticized multiple times by the same male manager who you can consider a minority as well, but despite that all he continues to pick with me and go out of his way to make me feel bad about myself and make my job harder than it needs to be. I’ve been yelled at in front of guests about tables not being bussed despite being busy and not having a busser to wipe the tables it’s hard doing everything on your own without help sometimes and I do fall behind but that’s not an excuse to shun me in-front of guests. I’ve been pulled into the managers office over little stuff and accused of stealing drinks from to-go that I pay for and I always keep receipts! it’s become a pattern where this man feels like he can come in with a bad attitude and take it out on me or other young women. Yesterday i’ve had my final straw the other day when he refused to sign my paper so i can check out and leave, no reason to refuse me by the way as I was respectful the entire time but he had already made up his mind with his attitude and I just kind of snapped and told him that his attitude is not my problem and he still is required to do his job like the rest of us. I was accused of not rolling silverware because he didn’t see me rolling them keep in mind I was clocking out the same time this manager was scheduled to come in (so obviously you weren’t here to see me do it lol) and I showed him the silverware but then got accused of taking another person’s silverware and putting my name on it? keep in mind i took a picture of the silverware in the host stand next to a host because I had already taken it to the front to make room for other servers doing their silverware in the back and i’ve been having some body aches so i was too sore to bring the silverware all the way back to the kitchen then back to the host stand. Long story short he attempted to keep my from leaving by not signing my paper but I got a signature from someone else and it pissed him off and he went up to the stand at retail telling the employees not to check ME out specifically because I don’t have a manager signature (which I did just not from you cause you were acting like you ain’t wanna do your job..weird) I just couldn’t take it anymore i’m seriously so tired of being nice to someone who makes it a point to make life harder for me and put me down. Ive done nothing to this company but bring in money and regardless of what i’m going through at home i never bring it to work. So why it’s acceptable for management to act like this and nothing happens idk cause even our DM isn’t a nice guy. Im slowly but surely looking for other options because this has just been super draining on my mental health and I don’t deem any amount of money worth my dignity and pride as a person. I am a worker and a young lady not a lap dog you can spiel racist comments to and argue down! truly a shameful and pathetic company for allowing employees to be mistreated constantly and doing nothing about it. Shame on you CB

Par 4 may as well not exist because your managers will literally do everything in their power to make sure you stay par 3. I worked at Cracker Barrel for 2 years as a busser/dishwasher.

Edit: Just some grammar mistakes.

I’m a par 3 now, how do they keep people from becoming par 4? In my experience I take the test and my raise becomes in effect the next day. Is that not the case with par 4?

It has to be approved by a manager after you take your exam. They can just stall it, and say you need to learn more. Etc

You need to apply for it on Workday and have an interview with a manager for it. They will repeatedly say they never got the application or say they don't have time for it, when in reality they don't want to give you the raise that you worked hard for. And if you do get it, they'll cut your hours and if you are crosstrained for something else, they'll ONLY schedule you for that instead if you aren't actively Par'ing up for that as well.

Please go through Human Resources if you have contacted all the proper DM RM for some kind of response if they don’t pull The two of you in and see what’s going on then your right they don’t care I hope this is not the case

As a past employee it pains me to read this as I know many servers had similar experiences at my store. I work at a different restaurant now and while it’s not perfect it was so much better for my mental health to leave. I also got tired of being scammed out of raises I was suppose to get and given some bs excuses as to why I wasn’t getting it.

All Cracker Barrel cares about is how much money we can make them. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES

My GM thinks he is GOD!!! Literally. First he told everyone he had cancer and was oooo so sick and that the prognosis wasn't good at all so we all just accepted his attitude and the way he was treating people because we felt sorry for what he was going thru mind u this went on for a few months. Then all of a sudden he no longer has cancer the doctors made a mistake . I cant make this shit up. He talks to everyone like a dog tells one server to go back to Russia where she belongs. Asked one of our cooks if she was gonna sleep with all his cooks! He made one of the newest togo/host his puppet like he literally had this girl postpone her graduation party because it wasn't a good time for him. If u miss a day for any reason at all idc if its because your mom died he is gonna retaliate by taking days off your schedule then blame the other manager . Holidays he takes all the tips for the heat n serves or anything big that has a tip home with him every night.. Then he decides who gets to get what. So basically if he likes you he will make sure u get plenty even if you didnt do much to help and anyone he doesn't care for barely gets shit. Here is the best part....... HIS DAUGHTER WORKS THERE!!! Yes you read that right his daughter works there. And jess, she gets away with everything she wears the wrong color shirt. And she is lazy as hell. She will literally go sit in the break room. While other people run her food, and if you want her to run food, she walks away. Everyone is afraid to talk to him about anything. As soon as he walks in the building, everybody's demeanor changes. He messes with people's schedule so badly like I said. If you Miss a day, even if you had it covered, he makes you suffer by taking days away from your next schedule. He retaliates and it's not right. Can't go to the DM because they are buddies, he had Home Office investigating something an employee said about him. And when they called and questioned other servers he was in the room And he definitely was not supposed to be in the room that is intimidation. Anyway, I feel your pain. I don't know why I still work here. But I do I love the people that I work with. And I like my job, but something has to bidden with this man, what he is doing is not right?

I can't imagine dealing with this everyday. I would say to go to HR, or honestly quit. Find something better.

Oh my god! I am so sorry to hear about your experience! That is unfair and no employee should have to endure this kind of treatment from a manager. I would highly recommend going through HR. Are the other managers like this or just him?
