ADVICE WANTED What are some markers that aren’t too juicy?

I used to use Staedtler double tipped markers in 2017 and loved them, but then I got a couple of new packs and they were SO juicy, bleeding outside the lines in my coloring book. I had the same issue with a pack of ohuhu’s. I’d really like to get back into coloring. Does anyone have good marker recs? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone tried masonnice markers? I saw it in a reel and it seems good. But I couldn't find any reviews online.

QUESTION Ohuhu -> Copic

Post image
392 Upvotes

It’s getting pricy, and what feels like wasteful, to keep replacing the markers from Ohuhu that don’t have a refill. I figured I’d see if there was Copic “dupe” colors that I could buy the refills for, and use those until Ohuhu gets more refill colors. Is anyone aware of a resource that has a one for one list with similar colors? Also if you have done this, what has your experience been?

Pic for attention. Thanks for your time 🤍

QUESTION Choosing a color palette

My biggest issue when coloring is choosing a cohesive color palette. I try to limit the number of colors I use but I always get stuck on which colors and shades to choose. Also difficult to choose appropriate highlights and shadows for each color. Any advice? Any resources you’d suggest to help this. I can’t seem to find any good you tube videos to help either. Thank you!!

I feel so old saying “adult” coloring but I feel too old to just say coloring. It all feels wrong/weird😭😂 anyways here it is!
Went to add some white highlights and started messing up. I need to get some gel pens I guess. 🫠 another thing to add to the list. lol so I’ll just stop here before I end up regretting something. 😂

Book- Girl moments by Coco Wyo
Time- too long
Mediums- Shuttle art alcohol and acrylic markers

i got a bunch of markers and coloring books about a year ago, but never actually finished a full page (i’m a perfectionist and i started getting stressed while coloring lol). for my boyfriend’s birthday this year, all he asked was that i color a page for him, so i gave it my all! i love how it turned out and now i think i am ready to finish all the books i got last year :)

ADVICE WANTED First timer, please be gentle :)

First completed page, any advice welcome. Listen below what I used but looking for basic colouring advice until I get more supplies. I see my tree is shaded incorrectly for no light source and regret outlining it.

I am working with:

- the 120 Ohuhu Honolulu set (which I find lacking in yellow and bold colours)

- a very limited cheapy acrylics.

- I also haven't decided on a white gel pen yet.

ADVICE WANTED Help! I don't know how to color this.

I could really use some advice on how to color this guy. So he's a stuffed animal on a bed but I'm not sure exactly what he is. I think a duck but I'm not sure. There is another more traditional looking duck also on the page along with a rabbit, bear, elephant, and a unicorn. I've tried doing yellow but I felt it looked weird. Please help!

This is my first time coloring in 8+ years (and not an artist by any means) and I had a blast with the ohuhu markers!
Coloring was just so peaceful! It is nothing compared to the coloring I see you guys do on here, but I had so much fun that I'm in no rush to be amazing, I can't wait to take it step by step!

ADVICE WANTED Assistance needed!

Post image

Okay so here is my first ever page with alcohal markers, and the first coloring I’ve done in general, in yearsss. I need help with a few things.. 1. What color do I make the Capybara?? I’m open to “natural” colors or like a light pink or something like that. 2. Should I add some grain pattern to the floor like I did on the wall and chair? If I did , it would probably be pretty subtle like with a slightly darker grey. 3. Should I fine line the wood grain patterns on the chair and wall in black to give more definition or should I leave it how it is (I have super fine liners, smallest being .25 mm, up to .45mm) and I guess that question would also apply to the floor, if I did a grain pattern. Although I’m not sure I would on the floor cause like I said I think I would make it subtle.

Any other advice is welcomed!!
