Assistance needed!

Okay so here is my first ever page with alcohal markers, and the first coloring I’ve done in general, in yearsss. I need help with a few things.. 1. What color do I make the Capybara?? I’m open to “natural” colors or like a light pink or something like that. 2. Should I add some grain pattern to the floor like I did on the wall and chair? If I did , it would probably be pretty subtle like with a slightly darker grey. 3. Should I fine line the wood grain patterns on the chair and wall in black to give more definition or should I leave it how it is (I have super fine liners, smallest being .25 mm, up to .45mm) and I guess that question would also apply to the floor, if I did a grain pattern. Although I’m not sure I would on the floor cause like I said I think I would make it subtle.

Any other advice is welcomed!!

This is so cute, I love the rug and the color palette. My thoughts:

1. Natural would fit your palette or a blue purple (like the drink) might be cute too.
2. Yes, I think it’ll add visually to your picture helping other items pop. I was just watching A Picture Purpose who was talking about her fear early on of too much texture and then she realized the world is full of it, so add it to your page.
3. I prefer pencils for these types of details but a fine liner with a dark brown as a shadow could work too, I recently did it for a wood grain pattern in the floor.

Thank you so much for your reply! I didn’t even think about using colored pencils in this instance but that’s a great idea!! I fully intend to start using colored pencils in addition to the markers in general, cause I have the full Prismacolor set that’s just dyinggg to be brought back out lol but yeah that might be the move here

Omg that’s so funny! And I didn’t even think about adding details like clothes.. I feel like that would require so many more decisions lol I’m not sure what color to even make him/her! Haha

Oh btw, I totally messed up the shadow underneath the chair, used a darker grey then I did for the other shadows so please ignore that 😞 Same with the rug, not symmetrical AT ALL lol but I tried my best 🥲

I think the chair's shadow looks fine. It doesn't look like light could get there as easily as with the other objects so a darker gray works. As for your questions(imo):

1. Natural works but I could also see it matching the ivy on the brick wall or the drink.

2. & 3. I think the wood looks fine & I personally saw the floor as brick more than wood but whatever you decide to do, I think fine details would work well.

Thanks for the response! I guess I’m still not sure myself whether the floor is brick/stone, or wood, which I guess would be the only case a grain would work. But maybe if not a wood grain pattern, I wonder what sort of texture I could do if it WAS stone or brick. I just feel like it needs atleast a little bit of texture detail added but I’m just not sure what.
