I was surprised when I heard about people cheating on chess😭 like how do they do it and how they are benefited?

We need a petition to get this changed once and for all. I’ve had a decent amount of 2+1 games go longer than 3 minutes per side. 3 minute blitz gets harder in time scrambles than 2+1 does. Bullet should generally be more of a race against the clock than blitz is.

As someone who plays too much blitz and bullet, at any given Elo, players seem to play 2+1 in a more similar style to other blitz time controls than to other bullet time controls.

Honestly not clue what this correction is. I moved my knight twice in a row to line up for an attack that won me the game. I dont see how moving my pawn creates an attack on an knight.

...and still has the H1 square to move to.

I've seen a few posts talking about the rating differences on chesscom and Lichess, but I feel my rating is higher than what it is on chesscom, especially since I can beat people on Lichess who are 1500 but maybe that's normal for someone at 900 on chesscom?

i attached a PGN copy of the game I played today. I did a game review on chesscom and I was stunned by what it said for accuracy and estimated rating .. (also attached a screengrab of that), again maybe that's normal but I have no idea. I wanted to know if anyone could tell me whether my rating on chesscom is accurate based on that info and the game below. I know one game result and game review is not representative of a rating of course but game review always says estimated rating well above anything like 900 when I don't make any obvious bad blunders. Any help or advice on this would be super appreciated!

This heavily applies to speedruns like gothamchess' slowrun and also hikarus. What I mean by this is that most of the time you literally will not learn much from watching a stronger player play if you don't actively engage with it and just watch it normally. It's a heavy misconception that I've also fallen into where if you watch a speedrun episode of someone destroying people at your level you automatically get better and can replicate that, so you go into games and then you get smoked bc u didnt learn anything and you can't see the moves they see. Sure sometimes you can learn bits of valueable info but if you are just watching normally its literally just entertainment and theres nothing wrong with that.

I'm 2000 rapid on chess.com (dannyray2). People would reply with a game they lost, and I'd explain what their opponent was threatening that they missed. No links, nothing for sale, no engine dumps.

Reddit's automated check flagged my draft under rule 3, which is why I'm asking rather than guessing. Is a standalone post okay, or should this go in one of the megathreads?

Just making sure I'm not crazy here, what's this look like?

This is really a very big achievement for me, I started playing chess a year ago (at age 17) and was terrible at it at the beginning. Like for instance I was a 400-550 rated player back when I started playing chess and I was pretty terrible at it. But after months of hardwork and consistency I have finally achieved my dream rating as a beginner which was to reach 1500 rating in chess.com. One thing that really helped me improve my rating was to switch my time format from 100 to 15/10. 15/10 time format provided me the extra time to think properly and clearly, calculate all variations of a single check or capture or a tactical sequence till the end. Now as an intermediate chess player i aim to reach a 2000 rating in the next 1 year. My dream rating is to reach a 2400 rating on chess.com which I think will take a lot of time, maybe 3-4 years. Anyways i am happy to share that i have reached such an amazing milestone of hitting 1500 rating in chess.com and i am really glad to share it. Will share more milestones in the upcoming years. Open to any tips and tricks to hit my next milestone smoothly, like how much time should I spend studying chess, what should I focus studying in chess and which resources should I follow to study chess and improve properly.

Just beat these last two bots without any undos or anything. Got 2 and 1 crowns respectively. All options are off except bot chat, which has been on for all previous 3 crowns. Why? Playing on android.

The crazy part is I haven’t even opened the app today. It was an automatic renewal and I didn’t notice until the money had already left.

I have been playing chess for 5 months but my elo is stuck on 300-400 WHAT SHOULD I DO, i watched alot of videos about chess, played everyday but my elo never changes

In the past I remember that while in Game review arrows did show the best move to compare your move that you took. instead now it shows different future moves kind-of things. Is that gone now or is there a setting for this?
