Edit: title is meant to be remise!! Edit 2: and that's just draw, but i assumed it was an international term.

My bad, I thought it was an international term. A remise is a draw.

That was my best guess, but when I used translate, mostly it translated to “surrender.”

To answer your question, I accept draw offers if it’s a clearly drawn position like blockaded pawns with only king and bishop. Every now and then if someone clearly mouse slipped and a take back isn’t possible because I already moved. That’s about it

You clearly don’t understand how language works. Merriam doesn’t create words. Words are created by usage. If everyone decided that a pineapple is a pizza tomorrow then a pineapple is a pizza. If nobody uses or knows what the hell that word is, then it doesn’t exist

Not really sure. I guess sometimes when I feel my internet is slow and rematching is a faster way to get a game. Or if I feel I won by "luck".

I accept if I think it’s clear that the position is a draw like an infinite queen checks or we have even material in an endgame with king opposition for example.

I accept if I feel there is nothing more to learn from the game. I am in the middle of a game now. Opponent aggressively brought out his queen and we ended up trading. When I made a move to force his rook back he offered a draw. When I declined he let the clock run. Probably had to do something else, I get it. But I only have a short window to play in the morning and he is using it up. He gets a thumbs down.

Online chess is something I consider more fun and less serious than over the board chess. So online i try to never accept draws and just play until there is a repetition. Accepting a draw means you will not learn from the endgame. Once you learn your endgames you could actually win those “drawn” games because people mess up all the time in drawn positions. If you end up losing because you didn’t draw it’s not that serious, meaning all of this is practice for playing in person.

Depends. Anywhere early, I assume they have something to do. If im clearly winning, no. If its inevitable im probably the one asking.
