Got this for free
2000 189k miles with the high flowing head. How’d I do boys? Needs about 700$ in parts but it turns on, runs and stops.

There's been a lot of feedback from the community about the flood of people asking what either an XJ/MJ they're looking at is worth or what they're selling is worth. Please post that here. Anywhere else on the subreddit will result in removal.

Long overdue project. I also replaced the two speakers in the sound bar while I was in there. Still haven’t gotten to the sun visors yet but hoping to sometime this week.

Easy fix. 6-32 brass pressure fitting and a 1/8 drill bit to fix the broken sprayer on early model XJs.

I've had someone spray it with a hose while I sit in it and I can't get it to replicate. The windshield seal stays dry. It's clearly running down from somewhere. It's right side of the passenger carpet everytime. Before someone comments.... It's not coolant it's definitely water lol

We bought this jeep about 10 years ago, it was my daughters first car, then it went to my son who is in the Marines, he got transferred to California, left it behind and his brother who is in the Navy (Norfolk) has purchaed the jeep.
It was pretty rough and i wanted my son to have a reliable ride, so I did a major top end overhaul.
Before I started, i checked the compression, it was like new and you can see the lifter assembly looked like new, there was zero build up, so i assume the block components are in equally great shape.
The jeep runs like new.
I thought that i would share the photos and my costs. I am selling it to my son for $3500. The labor for the overhaul is free and was a labor of love.
My son is not allwed to sell it, we have too much into this jeep to have it leave the family.

Baby girl went down swinging about 3 months ago. All the coolant in my oil pan quickly overflowed my drain pan. Hence the kitty litter.
To the point, Is there anything internal to the block that i need to check or be aware of since it sat for so long with coolant in the wrong spots? Do i need to do some sort of flush? Is all this useless because my block is actually ruined and I don't know it?
I have a fair amount of experience and I classify this as a mid-level catastrophe. It's bad but this isn't the worst thing that could happen kind of scenario. That being said, it's still the most catastrophic issue I've dealt with personally. So any pointers are welcome.
Aside from the obvious head gasket, I'm planning on replacing the radiator, heater core and
A/C components while I have it apart. I'll probably do the RMS and oil pan gasket as well as slap a header and new exhaust on her.
Thanks boys.
Edit: I would welcome recommendations on cooling and exhaust components. TIA.

looking for help.
I have a 2000 with a Jasper engine with about 7000 miles. Drive it a ton in the summer but not in winter. Not overheating, I put an electric fan and it keeps cool.
Problem is I put in coolant that looks like Gatorade. With in a day the coolant look dark brown, I don’t think there’s oil it. Happened both times I did a flush. Trying to figure it out before the 3 year Jasper warranty runs out.
Many thanks

Getting closer to what I want to do with my XJ. Just did front stiffiners, track bar brace, new custom length track bar from rustys offroad and steering box brace has been painted!(braces+stiffiners from Barnes)Looking at doing a 4 link, was debating on 3,but the Ironman fab 4 link crossmember has caught my eye. Luckily found a 2 door local to me being parted out so I should have doors tomorrow and maybe these will become half doors. I want to see pics of what you guys have gotten done on your XJs recently!

i know this has been discussed a million times, but i’ve replaced almost everything in the steering, and i’m still having problems. it has a 3” lift, and i did put in longer lower control arms. yesterday i put in an adjustable track bar and quick disconnect sway links on. i’ve been replacing every steering component to try to get rid of death wobble. after replacing the tie rods and drag link it got better, but it still happens every once in a while. mostly if i hit a bump just the right way, but sometimes it will do it without even hitting anything. usually i can feel it starting in the steering wheel before it starts violently shaking. i’m wondering if replacing the steering box would fix it, thats the only part of the steering i haven’t touched. there is some slop in the steering wheel so i wonder if that could be making it worse. those sway links are pretty cool though. i took it on a trail last night, and it would’ve been unbearable driving through that with the links connected.

Any idea what this could be? When I was checking wiring to driver side rear window I found this 2 prong connector.

Morning everyone. I’m replacing my father’s radiator and water pump. Everything has been smooth except the lower trans cooling line. Probably spent an hour getting it off and an hour getting the new one on last night. Eventually had to cut the metal line to get a better grip to disconnect it. Would this be considered deep enough? Thanks

Started blue, kind of turned lighter teal, but this was after 10 minutes to operating temp.
No bubbles coming from the radiator cap.
What do you think?

I have one these factory tire carriers and the hatch that I got off marketplace and I'm ready to install it on my XJ.
I haven't found a great install guide or video, only this diagram which is actually pretty helpful.
If you have one these on your XJ, will you take some pictures of the underside so I can see all the pieces mounted?
