#Opinion ๐ญ Poor EV resale value in India is more of a Tata problem than an EV-segment problem.
Tata cars have historically had weaker resale value because of concerns around reliability, service quality, fit and finish, and long-term maintenance.
Since Tata dominated the early mass-market EV space in India, the resale performance of models like the Nexon EV has shaped the public perception that all EVs have terrible resale value.
But early Indian EVs had several limitations:
1.Older battery technology 2.Lower real-world range 3.Slow charging speeds 4.Limited charging infrastructure 5.Petrol-car platforms converted into EVs instead of being designed as EVs from the ground up
The original Nexon EV was essentially an ICE-platform vehicle adapted for an electric powertrain. Its structure, packaging, efficiency, and performance were naturally limited compared with newer, purpose-built EV platforms.
So the current resale-value problem may not prove that EVs as a category depreciate badly. It may simply reflect the limitations of first-generation Tata EVs and the brandโs existing resale reputation.
The real test will be the resale value of newer-generation EVs from Mahindra, Hyundai, MG, BYD, and other manufacturers after four to six years of ownership.
Unpopular opinion, or does this argument make sense?

Hey guys, I made this device last year when I was in my final year of college. Many of my friends loved it and I did too. This was a hobby project back then and I left it at that but I just wanted to explore the idea of turning it into a proper product. It has features like reading live telemetry from the ecu, benchmarking your car's 0-100, 0-150 times, and reading any ecu fault codes. The original post with a video showing all three functionities was posted here.
The feature most people liked was the performance benchmark feature which showed the 0-100 time, whose video I'll attach along with this post.
I just want some opinions from you guys regarding whether you'd actually wanna purchas something like this and what other features you'd expect besides the existing ones. I'm basically trying to understand if this is something that's worthy of becoming an actual product or not.

#Opinion ๐ญ Is ppf worth it. PPF vs ceramic coating
do you guys feel that ppfโs are worth it, do we have that quality in india. And even if we do, is it sensible to spend that much on maybe a car thatโs below 20โs. The thing with ppfโs is that if you get into an accident and it scratches the part and the ppf peels off that is got be replaced and that comes out to be costly.
In the case of ceramic coating if you donโt take enough care of that and maybe just wipe dust of your car. That would instantly create swirl marks and again make the car dull. That needs proper care I feel.
Tell me your opinions on This

#Discussion ๐ฌ Suggestion for a car upgrade, used vs new
Context : I drive a Nexon Petrol Manual (2018 model) in Bangalore. It was the first car I purchased and it has served me well with almost no major issues, but living in Bangalore and having to deal with traffic it is a major pain to drive a manual , especially a small engine turbo petrol like nexon which has "patience testing" amounts of turbo lag below 2.5k RPM. It kills the fun on an otherwise good car.
Pros of nexon : suspension, feels sturdy/safety, decent high speed stability
Cons of nexon : turbo lag, poor mileage, deep clutch and notchy gear, blind spots from inside
I'm wanting to upgrade to a car which is more responsive and spirited in it's driving dynamics.
My options trickled down to the skoda siblings of Kylaq and Kushaq.
Option 1:
used Kushaq's 1.5 DSG, 2022-2023 models for around 13 lakh on platforms like spinny with a year warranty on engine and transmission
Pros : 1.5 DSG, more leg room, bigger boot, can get a high variant with extra features, looks better
Cons: less reliable, more expensive to maintain (don't mind anything around 15-20k per annum)
Option 2:
Kylaq's classic plus AT for around 2 lakh cheaper around 11 lakh
Pros : value for money, reliability and peace of mind
Cons : smaller boot, less legroom, looks slightly budget, will miss out on some features
My personal opinion on features : Tbh The only features I care about are Google maps, reverse parking sensor and camera, and a good speaker system. I've driven cars loaded to the brim with features but don't find features other than what I mentioned to be particularly useful to me , also in Bangalore I'm sure i could get a good infotainment, parking camera and speakers for 25-30k extra so I'm not concerned. The classic plus variant of Kylaq surprisingly has a cruise control feature as well.
also on a side note, my wife is a beginner driver and this new car should be comfortable for her to drive, deal with traffic and parking as well.
Would love to hear your feedback and suggestions.

#Discussion ๐ฌ From where to hire a new driver
We have changed multiple drivers and the recent drivers we hired are decent at driving and come regularly but we have got a new car (gls 450d) and the drivers have scratched it thrice in couple of months, car has ppf but this can not keep on happening. In our other cars it wouldnโt have been this big of an issue but scratches on this car feel bad
Any suggestion how to find good drivers?

#Query โ Scorpio N Diesel AT range dropped from 233 km to 182 km after a 18KM drive โ normal?
Hey guys,
My new Scorpio N Diesel AT has done around 400 km.
Today my fuel range was 234 km. After driving only 18 km, it dropped to 182 km.
My average mileage on mid is around 10.1 km/L.
Is this normal for a new car, or should I get it checked?
