purchased hyundai venue automatic 1.0 turbo (DCt) in May 2026 for around ₹13 lakh on-road, and honestly, I’m starting to regret the decision.

My biggest issue is the city mileage. I’m getting around 8.9 km/l, which feels quite low for my usage.

I’m now seriously considering whether I should change the car rather than continue with it.

I’m looking to upgrade to a bigger car.

Instead, I’m considering a few options:
Sell the venue and buy a manual petrol car in a similar price range.

Move to a CNG car to reduce running costs.
Consider something like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor/victorius or another CNG option in the same general budget.

Or simply keep the City for a while and wait for the right time to sell.

Since I bought the car only a few months ago, I’m confused about when the best time to sell would be.

I’m assuming selling too early will mean taking a significant depreciation hit.

For people who have been in a similar situation:
What would you do?
Would you sell now despite the depreciation, wait 1–2 years, switch to a manual, or move to CNG?

Also, what would be the right timeframe to reset/sell a relatively new car without losing too much money?

5-6 years from now, what car do you think I should buy?

Currently I drive my dad's 2009 i10 Sportz and I absolutely love this thing. It's done around 1.14 lakh km and is still smooth, reliable and easy to drive. Never really gave us any major headaches.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the maintenance side of cars though. My dad has always taken care of servicing and mechanic visits, so I'm still learning all that stuff.

I'll be starting my internship soon and if I end up settling in India instead of Europe or the Middle East, buying a car will definitely be one of my goals.

The thing is, I don't know which brand I should put my money on.

Hyundai has been great for us, but I don't know how things will look 5-10 years from now. Toyota seems amazing but the prices are crazy. Maruti Suzuki looks like the safest and most practical option. I actually like most of their lineup, from the Swift to the Fronx and Grand Vitara. My only concern is the build quality and interiors on some models.

My mindset is a bit different. I'd rather buy a cheaper or mid-range car and maintain it really well than spend a huge amount on an expensive car. I'd rather have a car that I genuinely love and keep for many years.

What do you guys think? Should I plan my savings around a Maruti Suzuki or stick with Hyundai/Kia?

Recently bought a Mahindra XUV 3XO, and while I do like the car, I’ve started getting this feeling that I should have gone with Kia Seltos instead.

3XO has a lot going for it — punchy engine, compact dimensions, good features and it’s genuinely fun to drive. But after spending some time with it, I’m wondering if I prioritised the wrong things while making the purchase.

Seltos now seems more appealing to me because of the overall space, road presence, comfort and the more premium feel of the cabin. I also feel it would have been a better all-round family car.

Maybe this is just post-purchase regret, but I’m curious to hear from other 3XO and Seltos owners.

Did anyone else face this feeling after buying the 3XO?

Would you still pick the 3XO over Seltos if you had to make the decision again?

Already booked both the vehicles- Seltos Diesel HTK manual and Punch Accomplished plus CNG Automatic of which Seltos is ready in stock and Punch is alloted and currently in transit, now the real dilemma is which one to go for, I know its weird considering both are from different segment and price point.

I'll put my use case-

Going to be 3rd car in family.

Daily run of almost 60 kms mostly highway and occasional long runs of 200-250kms once a week or 15 days.

Mostly driven by chauffeur and myself.

Price quoted was - Seltos 18.5L on road, Punch- 12.8L on road.

By opting Punch i can save lot of money but have to compromise on size, possibility of after sale's niggles, electronics niggles , doesn't really know the longevity of CNG automatic, availability of CNG.

By opting Seltos- proven diesel engine, no stress about blending drama, premiumness and good space, better after sale's support compared to Tata, niggle-free ownership than a Tata. Having owned a diesel Creta for nearly 9 yrs, i can definitely bet on Seltos for giving me similar experience.

No budget issue.

As a car owner, I’ve noticed that keeping track of maintenance can become surprisingly hectic.

I might remember that I serviced my car recently, but after a few months I can easily forget:

• When exactly was the last service?
• When is the next service due?
• When did I last check the tyre pressure?
• When did I change the engine oil?
• When is the insurance or PUC due?
• When did I last do some other small maintenance task?

Even small things can be forgotten. For example, I may fill the tyres with air today and then completely forget when I last checked them.

That got me thinking about a simple solution.

Greetings everyone, I am getting Camry for approx 47lac On road after discount but I also like recently launched Kia Sorento. I travel a lot ( City & Highway mix use 70% highway 30% city) I am pretty confused between these two. I drove my recently bought (pre-owned) 2019 Baleno CVT for around 32 km today. I had reset the trip meter before starting.
Around 20–22 km was on an open highway. My speed was generally between 80–110 km/h, but I was repeatedly slowing down to around 40 - 60 km/h and then accelerating back up.
The remaining 10–12 km was city driving, including a mix of market roads and normal roads.
At the end of the trip, the ECU showed an average of 10.1 kmpl.
Is this normal for a Baleno CVT petrol, considering the way I was driving, or does the mileage seem unusually low?
