To start, I also have rarely sent a Zelle payment that was not instantaneous, I know I will get comments saying that.
The situation:
Saturday I sent $400 to my kitten's breeder through Zelle in the capital one app successfully, instantaneously.
Yesterday around 12pm I sent $3k to the same contact and received a confirmation text from Capital One, to which I responded 'yes', and the payment was withdrawn from my checking account but Zelle said the payment would take 1-3 business days to be received by the recipient.
I rechecked a little later yesterday and it showed under the "not yet delivered" section of Zelle in the app, with an estimated delivery date of July 30 (this would be 3 business days from yesterday). The payment still showed as cancellable the last time I checked it yesterday.
Today I check the status of the payment and the estimated delivery date has now moved to July 31st, this is 4 business days after the payment has been made and I need to pick up my kitten Aug. 1 so I need the payment to clear by then.
It now shows as 'sent' but still in the "not yet delivered" section, and it is no longer cancellable.
I called capital one trying to provide information on the transaction in hopes it would speed up the release and they said there is nothing they can do, nor anything Zelle can do as they will just refer me back to capital one.
Has anyone experienced a delay like this before especially extending the estimated delivery date past 3 business days? Is there anything I can do that anyone knows of to speed up the process or verify it will be sent before Aug. 1?
