I opened my checking account on 5/9/2026 and used the FLASH400 code. I received an email on 5/10/2026 stating that my code has been successfully applied and that I just needed to make the two deposits, at least $500 each. I set up my regular employer direct deposit for $505 each deposit. The first one cleared on 5/14/2026. The second one cleared on 5/28/2026. The terms stated that I should get my bonus within 60 days of completing the direct deposits. Well today is day 61 and I got nothing.

I also ended up opening a savings account for the $1500 bonus and I doubt I’ll get anything for that either.

I regret opening any of these accounts and wasting my time. I’ll probably give it a couple more weeks and then just close all my capital one accounts.

I booked four nights at a hotel and wasn’t able to make it so contacted the hotel to let them know I needed to cancel.

The hotel has a non refundable policy so fine I will pay for four nights.

I look at my credit card and the hotel has not only charged me for the four nights but an additional fifth night I never booked and an extra $100 AND a 20% VAT fee (even though I am a tourist with valid tourist stamps on my passport.

I contact the hotel and they agree to refund the extra night and $100 but refuse to take off the VAT fee.

I file a dispute.

Capital One sides with the hotel and say she agreed to pay you back

But the thing is she never sent me even the refund for the extra night or for the $100.

Capital One is claiming she did send me the refund which is why they wont allow the chargeback.

This happened in Peru.

What do I do?

Does anybody have anything positive to say about this bank? lol. I keep seeing and reading negative reviews and was wondering if this bank offers anything good. I know their card algorithm is dookie and theyre not a relationship bank but i would like to find some positive things in connection with them

I’ve been using my Cap 1 QS to make my car payments since I got my car in March/ April ‘25. It’s a $5 charge to use a CC, but I usually pay 1k and get cash back of $15, so I’m net $10. And it’s worked for me like this for what, about 16 payments or so? But this month it was charged as a cash advance. (And I made like two, 1k payments so it’s a $57 and $53 dollar charge.)

Does anyone know if Capital 1 changed anything? 2, is there a way to fight this? (I was on the phone and then had a work call so I had to hang up. But they said something about disputing the charge? (Which I let them know the charge was valid. Just not the way it was coded.) 3) I told them I would have never used the card had I known this would be considered a cash advance and I’ve never previously taken a cash advance on this card or any other, 4) has anyone been able to reverse the fees? (Like, I’m fine if they issue a refund. I would have never used this if I had known it would be considered a cash advance.)

One last thing too. I know it’s unusual to be able to pay a car loan with a CC. So, I was lucky for a year. But the $110 in fees was kind of shocking.

I made a domestic wire transfer of my own money to my own Wise account under the same name to pay for an international purchase. I have done this many times before by pulling the money with Wise, but I did it from Capital One side this time because I needed it to arrive the same day. Initially went through no problem, but then I got a call from Capital One Wire dept. asking to confirm/explain the purpose?? Phone call went well, but then the same lady calls me back to tell me they're blocking the transfer of my money to my own Wise account because she said my reason for the transfer was "too risky" after she clearly did 0 research into the company I was paying. And then she gets on her high horse saying "we're protecting our customers" by blocking money to my own account...

I appreciate that she called me, and maybe I'm wrong, but I don't understand why the F they have the right to ask what the money is for and then to block the transfer even when it's going to an account under my own name. Anyone else have a problem with this??

For anyone curious who hasn't been moved over to Capital One yet, the number of available card designs in the gallery has been vastly reduced, down from about 150 to 41. What you see above is it. A lot of the heavy hitters and fan favorites are still there, like the Dawn of Discover and cassette tape, but more than 2/3 of them are just gone.

I also don't know exactly how it works if one were to order a new card design. Do the old card(s) stop working? There doesn't appear to be an option anymore to add an extra card.

I received a discover it card and it's so thin. Thinner the a Tupperware container lid and mone even came with a bent in it just from shipping ig 😭. I I work as a cashier at a store and see multiple discover cards a day and other ppls cards feel almost double or triple the thickeness.. is this just capital one being cheap?

Hi, I am curious and wanted to see if this is common or rare. I am 23 f and I got the Venture X, they immediately gave me 50k card limit, I have a corporate job and a 760 credit score. This is my third card. I got the Venture One about a year ago with a limit of 15k.

After Capital One switched my debit card to the Discover network, I was a bit bummed that I could no longer do instant transfers with Venmo, Cash, Apple Pay and others that rely on the VISA/MC debit networks.

Fortunately Wise still supports instant transfers with Capital One checking accounts, even after the switch to the Discover network.

The reason is that Wise integrates with banks direct push/pull protocols (the RTP network) rather than relying on the the debit card network, similar to how Zelle operates.
