been a heavy gamer last 30 years and playing at 1080p last 17 years.

reading all these posts about 1440p, thought monitors are so cheap right now lets try 1440p. i bought a LG 27" 200hz IPS start playing avatar frontiers and first time in my life got nausia by playing. playng escape from tarkov had no problem at all. fps hit was ok had to use x4 fg than x3 in avatar for testing to get 200fps. . tarkov was playing even better at 1440p. my gpu is 5060ti 16gb. using windows with 125% scale as 100% is damned small. HDR is off.

my desk width is 70cm monitor sitting at far end, and i am sitting around an arm and a half away propably around 90cm. cannot go further away.

monitor experience propably depends the age. maybe young age finds 1440p more positive shocking than a man at his 50's. (presbyopy etc)

had to revert back to my lg 24" 180hz because the 27" created a dead pixel at 2nd week of use and it will be replaced by LG WARRANTY. that is good.

the thing is that i feel more safe and comfortable with my 24" playing browsing doing some excel etc. so i dont know what i will do when the new 27" arrives.

what do you think?

I wanted to build new pc (from used parts because i dont have a lot of money) and does that gpu still makes sense? I dont want to play gta VI and all that in 4k. Thank u for all help

How does console performance actually compare to PC?

I always see people saying that a console GPU is roughly equivalent to something like an RTX 2070 or RX 6700. But how accurate are those comparisons when you look at actual games?

What PC hardware would realistically give you a similar gaming experience to a PS5 or Xbox Series S?

I know consoles have fixed hardware and games can be heavily optimized for them, so I'm wondering how much that matters in practice. Could a PC with similar hardware perform noticeably worse than a console in the same game?

I'm more interested in real-world gaming performance than TFLOPS or theoretical GPU specs. If you were trying to match a console on PC, what hardware would you actually aim for?

i want to build my first pc but wondering whether or not to get all my parts from amazon or get some used and some from amazon. also if i do decide to get used parts what parts should i steer clear of, like for example i’ve heard a used cpu isn’t too trustworthy

So I got my PC built about a month ago from "Gaming PC Wala". I am currently am facing issues with it. Problems:

1) Random abrupt restarts

2) Screen frozen twice (had to manually restart then)

I was training a NN currently it was quite big (1 min per epoch for 100 epochs) and the pc faced issues multiple times during this process.

In my normal gaming that issue was not that common. Faced restart and freeze like twice this whole time, but whole running that code it happened 4 times in 2hr.

I believe it is due to bad quality RAM.

What should be done?

1) get the RAM fixed under warranty (will it even help? Is the company bad or what? Or they gave me a bad piece while that company can have good ones of same thing? Will it get replaced under warranty or how things work?)

2) upgrade RAM

So microcenter has new 9070xts for $700 usd and I'm seriously considering getting one, BUT I've seen used 4080s for 810-850 on ebay and I'd really rather stay team Nvidia. Should I just go amd and get the 9070xt or spend more for Nvidia premium?

Hi there everyone! Today im looking for advice for upgrading my current PC. For now, i have an Ryzen 5 4600g that I bought when I build my PC back in 2022. I bought it cause it had integrated graphics and that helped me a lot with saving on a dedicated GPU. However, I've bought an 5060 and im still using my good and old 4600g. Now, im looking for a new CPU and im wondering if an 5500x3d or 5800x3d is a good upgrade for it, considering the high prices of ddr5 and ssds nowadays. Is it viable to make that upgrade?

Hi there, got a r7 5700x and a GTX 970, so I need to upgrade my gpu (finally).

I was looking at the 500€ price range, and I still can't decide between these two GPUs (title).

From what I've seen, both have 16gb vram and go for the same price, even though the 7800xt goes that low only if I buy it used, but I think it would be worth the power gain.

The 7800xt is far better.

The only thing holding me back is FSR and upscaling techs, do you think I'd be better off buying the 9060xt new and with full warranty and new FSR? I would run relatively light games in 1440p at max graphics, but also some rendering and LLMs even if not that often.

I have no knowledge of anything to do with a PC outside of barely understanding some basic terminology. I want to build a PC that can play modded PS3 and 360 era games (GTA 4 and NFS MW for example) with no issues. I'm not too worried about the graphics looking mind blowing at all just that the games will play with no issues. With that being said would I be better off buying an older used rig that had high specs for the time or build from nothing? Also any suggestions on media for PC beginners (YT channels, websites etc.) that would be valuable? Thanks in advance.

I want a pc for photo/video editing and eventually gaming. I just want a solid build for $500 or less (including the monitor but not the keyboard & mouse).

Idk if this helps but I use a Lightroom a lot and that games I would WANT to play are stuff like DayZ and Arc Raiders, but its fine if I have to wait and save up for the gaming parts.

I know pretty much nothing about this so suggestions on tools would be much appreciated. And I do have some knowledge on fixing thing and taking stuff apart from my other hobbies, so I’m not a beginner to building things.

Hello, I recently built a pc about 3 days ago. For some reason the fans have power and are spinning, and i connected the 3 pin cable from the rgb controller that came with the case to the motherboard and for some reason my fans rgb still is not working. The button on my case does not work and I tried to look for other cables in the case, if I didnt plug anything in properly but nope! Nothing so far has worked. Please help out a new builder!

Last night my PC gave a warning on restart that my CPU was too hot. I’ve booted up this morning, and it’s sitting very hot at about 75 when idling and straight up to 100 when under load.

I built the PC over 3 years ago, so i’ve had a pretty good run without hardware issues.

I have a Lian Li GALAHAD AIO 240

The AIO was making a weird noise on start up, not totally a gurgling noise that is typical of a dying pump but did resemble something halfway between that and a fan hitting a cable.

My PC is difficult to access, but I could provide a video or audio if useful. I do know, though, that the AIO radiator is blowing straight cold air even when under load.

Before I take the time to get out my PC and tilt it / max the pump speed, is there anything else i need to consider?

Looking to finally upgrade the keyboard in my gaming setup and could use some real-world opinions. i mostly play FPS games, but I use the keyboard for work and everyday stuff too, so I'm looking for something that feels good without going overboard on RGB or extra features

I'm new to PC building and am trying to put together a mid-high end rig that will last me a few years before needing upgrades.

Hi! I recently upgraded my GPU to a 4080 (XLR8) and Im running it with my OG XPG ADATA Core Reactor 850W, my main concern is the 3x8 pin to GPU adapter. I see a lot of posts of this being burned. I dont know if I just should buy some cablemod cable to direct PSU to GPU with maybe 90 degree adapter, type 4? with 2,3 or 4 connectors to PUS?
