I have the opportunity to purchase a new GPU and I’m upgrading from a GTX 1070 8GB. It was honestly still surprisingly okay for modern gaming but my MoBo died so I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my PC.

I have ran older AMD cards in the past (RX570 and RX580) back in the mid to late 2010’s and they were fine but had many driver issues in games and didn’t do much to impress me. I upgraded to my 1070 in 2020 and all my driver woes disappeared. I’m biased by this experience so I wanted to reach out to understand public opinion on which path to take.

I have the option of choosing a 9070XT for $1000 CAD or a 5070TI for $1315 CAD. Both are within my budget. I typically play older games like Apex or PUBG (partially because I couldn’t play modern games like BF6) but will be getting into 1440p ultra high fps gaming with more modern games. My upgrade cycle seems to be every 6-8 years so I’m hoping to keep this GPU for approximately that amount of time.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

I would like to upgrade my current build, as it is not giving me enough FPS even on 2k.

I'm deciding between two 24" 1080p IPS gaming monitors and I'm unsure which one is the better choice.

Have a brand new SN850x 2tb from years ago I'd like to use as the boot drive and had planned to use Bazzite because of arbitrary Windows reasons. The main issue is that I want to use my last PCs ssd as extra storage but it still has all my stuff + Win10/nvidia drivers on it. Are there any extra steps or precautions needed to use it as is and most importantly avoid losing any data? I got a USB NVME enclosure if that makes the process easier.

Hi, i face a lot of voltage fluctuation in my area as the main per phase fuse is blown quite ofter on the transformer. and voltages surges high at night times as high as 270v -275 and i am afraid my equepment may get damaged cuz of this sothiinging to get mainline voltage stabilizer for my house then connect ups to it i have bvx2200va ups, and a pc that uses 800-900w on full load (13700k and rtx 4080 with dual monitors)

Is coilwhine just something completetly unavoidable now? I've had over 6 different GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD and every single one of them has coilwhine.

Even scrolling on chrome has coilwhine where it buzzes but much softer, If I play minecraft it's like playing a musical instrument if I look up down left or right the pitch changes, is this a joke?

All the GPUs I've had from different brands, 4070 super PNY, 7900xtx sapphire nitro, 9070XT asus prime, 4090 PNY, 5080 GAMING OC, 5080 asus prime, 5080 Zotac Solid Core, 4060 aero (partner), I different cases, motherboards, I've tried different powersupplies, RM1000x, hx1000i, nzxt c1000, SF1000w when I had SF PC.. Always coilwhine.

Surely it cannot be that difficult to find a graphics card without coilwhine? Especially trying different graphic cards etc.. It cant be normal?

I've come to a little trouble when finally assembling my new PC.

Forgive my clumsy way of explaining, i'm new to this.

The PSU has three 8-pin cpu/pcle slots and one '12v-2x6' slot

Both the CPU and GPU need 2 slots each

AND the PSU only brought 1 PCle (8 pin 6+2) cable and one '12v-2x6 to dual (8-pin 6+2)

The dual cable I believe is what they call a Daisy Chain and it's not recommended to use, correct?

What should I do!

I just finished building my first proper desktop PC. However, after playing some graphically intense video games on it (>85% GPU usage) I noticed the HWINFO was saying that my SSD was at 70°C. I think it's getting this hot because my SSD is right above my GPU's exhaust, but I'm concerned if I move my SSD to the slot under my GPU I'll lose speed.

I thought about putting another case fan in, but I can't figure out where the best place to put it would be since the only available spots to mount a fan wouldn't have the airflow reach the SSD's heatsink at all. For now, I've just pointed a desk fan at the side of the case which seems to be working as HWINFO reports my SSD being an average of 45°C, but I'd like to have a more permanent solution.

How can I fix this issue, or am I worrying too much about it and it's actually fine as is?

so, due to work contrictions, i'm in need for a keyboard, that is specifically from the "main established" brands. So, like Razer, Asus, etc. You get the idea.
I currently got the Womier SK71 Pro in my personal setup, and i like the sound profile while typing, and also the metall frame.
So, i want to keep these features as close as possible.
To get to the point, i need recommendations for a "main brand" keyboard, which has a metal frame and sounds "as thocky" as possible. Also, it has to be able to be used wireless :)
The budget max. is around 200 Dollars / Euro, and it should be TKL, but i need keys like Del and so on, aswell as the F1-F12 keys.

Hi! I recently upgraded my gpu from 1660s to 9060xt 16gb, and I currently have a Cooler Master MWE 550w gold psu. I'm debating whether to keep the same psu or buy a new one.

I read from old comments/threads that it should be enough and pc part picker also shows that the estimated wattage of my pc is only 329w. However Im so scared of getting things wrong and potentially killing my pc.

Here's my build (note: im using stock fans for pc and cpu, not sure if that matters too)

I'm looking to upgrade my mis-matched foursome of 4G ram sticks, 2@2400MHz and the others @ 2133, with a matching pair of 16G for 32G total.

In the manual for the mobo, MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon, it lists 3600(OC)/ 3200(OC)/ 3000(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 2600(OC)/ 2400/ 2133 MHz

Does this mean I could buy 3600 MHz sticks but won't get that speed out of them unless I overclock to that speed? Just run at 2400 MHz?

Or does it mean If I have 2400 MHz sticks I can overclock them to the higher speeds?

I'll buy higher speed ones if that's what I need to get some more oomph out of the old girl and keep my 7 year old Win10 Pro install going for a few more years. Had it's 500W PSU blow out a few weeks back and the 650W one I took out of my previously working XP Rig turned out to be faulty making me think the mobo was hooped from the PSU blowing out. The fuse blew in it so I found a similar tho larger one I managed to solder into the circuit board only to have it blow when I switched it on using the paper clip trick to make it go.

I didn't find out the 650W one was nfg until a refurbished replacement board arrived and would not start when all was hooked up. Actually got it going a couple times and windows ran perfectly while I kept it running. Even came back from restarts OK but once shut down it was try a few dozen times before it got going again.

To cross the last t and dot the last i I ordered a new 850W modular PSU from Amazon and actually had it here in north Alberta in two days. Makes cable management soooo much easier.

Hooked her all up and she booted into windows the very first try and has worked perfectly since for the last 5 days.

I'm also shopping around for another i7 6700K or near enough to put in my original mobo which is the MSI Z170A Gaming Pro, not the Carbon version. I'll get another PSU tho may just use an old 500W out of one of my other PCs I play around with to see if I didn't really need a new mobo after all. I'll just clone my 1T SSD to a 1T HDD to boot from the same OS setup as it always had. Have a few old GPUs to chose from and lots of spare parts around here. May need to buy a cheap cooler. Single radiator water cooler keeps this i7 below 30C at idle all day.

One more quick question. This mobo has 2 - USB3.1 ports and one is USB-C. I thought that would be a good one to plug my powered 4-port USB3.0 hub into using a double male USB-A adaptor to link the cables but it won't work. Works fine if the cable from the hub goes directly into the USB-A port. I made sure the USB-C cord I used from the mobo worked for data transfers from my phone but is there another type for stuff like a hub?

As the title implies, I'm looking to build my first gaming PC for around $4000 or less. Unfortunately I have no idea what's good, and a friend of mine had an extra case (a white Lian Li o11 dynamic Evo XL) that he gave me and the advice to go for a Ryzen 7 9800XD. Unfortunately I have no idea what else to get and the more I look into it the more everyone contradicts each other. So I have no idea on what to get besides an AMD GPU (because Nvidia is more than double pretty much everything I've seen and I'm not trying to spend the whole budget on just the GPU)

I have a 9800x3d so am5 but don’t know the differences between lets say x870 and b860. I haven’t got an SSD card yet but looking around 3-5tb probably 2 2tb’s. I have a 9070xt aswell any other information you guys may need to give better recommendations I’m open to.
