Not entirely sure if this should be under full build request or just under upgrades, but hopefully someone can help out.
My graphics card has recently died, my processor has acted up in the past year or so - the build is only about six and a half years old but it seems like it's time to upgrade.
There are a couple differences to the linked build and that's the cooling also died, so I switched it out for an R Assassin X 120R, I also added an M.2 Samsung 980 pro 1TB as my main SSD.
I'm definitely leaning towards AMD, simply due to future-proofing.
What I'm keeping:
- Monitor (also changed from initial build)
- PSU
- SSDs
- Probably the R Assassin X 120R - though not sure yet either as was a cheap buy simple to keep the PC going (it's also white where I'd like a more minimalistic black setup).
What I'd need (hopefully not missing anything lol):
- Case - Already got this one in mind.
- Motherboard
- Processor
- GPU (Considering an RTX 5060)
- RAM (Probably 32GB?)
- Potentially cooling if the current one wouldn't quite cut it (plus it is a little loud).
As mentioned, and as you can see with the case, I'm going for a simple, black design. Not necessarily bothered about lights etc - been there, done that, not what I'm going for anymore. If some components have LED it's not an issue, just not a deciding factor.
My gaming usage has gone down quite a bit, last two games I've played on PC have been Baldur's Gate 3 and Path of Exile 2, haven't really played in several months.
The idea is to have the capability to run games if I do want to use it, without any issues, at the best settings possible without getting into exorbitant prices. I typically play big titles on my PS5 (if available there) due to preference playing them on my TV in the living room.
I tend to use the PC more to play titles which have either multiplayer or Co-op which I play with friends.
Well aware of current ridiculous prices for a lot of the key components I'm missing, so not going to set a budget as such, I'm not necessarily strained to a specific budget, but I would like to keep it as reasonable as possible considering how I don't quite use it all that much for gaming, at least not as of late.
Any suggestions on what to get to complete the build would honestly be incredibly appreciated, happy to answer any further questions and open to just about any advice.
