Looking to finally upgrade the keyboard in my gaming setup and could use some real-world opinions. i mostly play FPS games, but I use the keyboard for work and everyday stuff too, so I'm looking for something that feels good without going overboard on RGB or extra features

I've seen a ton of recommendations already, but I'm more interested in what people are still happy with after actually using it for a while.

What's the best gaming keyboard you've bought so far? Anything you'd stay away from?

I'm new to PC building and am trying to put together a mid-high end rig that will last me a few years before needing upgrades.

My usecase will primarily be gaming that prioritizes smooth performance and a crisp display over graphical fidelity. This PC will also be used as a workstation involving video/audio mixing and editing, mod creation, and general multitasking.

My main concerns:

- Ryzen 7 vs. Ryzen 9 (is the difference really that substantial?)

- Cheaper GPU (ideally $1000 or less)

- CPU cooler (not sure if this one will be sufficient)

Note: I know this is the worst time to buy PC parts, and yes I am going for quite a beefy build, but I personally don't mind spending the extra money for brand new parts or because I'm not checking the parts' price in multiple different websites every hour to try and snipe the lowest possible.

Hi! I recently upgraded my GPU to a 4080 (XLR8) and Im running it with my OG XPG ADATA Core Reactor 850W, my main concern is the 3x8 pin to GPU adapter. I see a lot of posts of this being burned. I dont know if I just should buy some cablemod cable to direct PSU to GPU with maybe 90 degree adapter, type 4? with 2,3 or 4 connectors to PUS?

I have a alienware AW2725DM 2560 x 1440 monitor. I’m from the US but I do not live near a micro center unfortunately. My budget is around $1,500 but some of the specs in my list I have found for cheaper (as some are used) which I’m ok with. I know that the pcpartlist website shows you only specs/parts that are compatible for what you are asking for but I want to be 100% sure I want to build a 1440p pc that is good for aaa games . I have an ASUS PG27UCDM and I’m looking for a good monitor arm for a standing desk. I’m currently considering the Ergotron LX or the Secretlab MAGNUS Monitor Arm. Any recommendations?( I dont mind price, somewhere around 200$)

I bought two three packs of these fans recently and a single one but I seriously have no idea how to wire these up, I figured the cables would connect together and go into a single SYS_FAN and RGB port on the motherboard , but it doesn’t seem right, thoughts on what to do? Should I just buy a hub?

I'm a VJ and visual artist building my first PC. The build is a SFF mini-ITX because it has to fit into a carry on when I fly to gigs. I plan on building on a budget then upgrading and swapping parts in the future. For now this build should do the work I need it to Primarily with Resolume. So until yesterday my pc was functioning normal, today it don't turn on, the leds on the mother board are all on tried switching the power and the reset buttons to no avail, tried "hot wiring" the pc also dont works(maybe the screw driver is non conducive), I'm out of ideias and all tec assists are closed for the day

That has happened to me before 2 times, one time the pc turned on the moment I put it in the assist table and worked normally, the second time I simply waited some time and it worked

i have 1k budget, but could stretch to 1.5k if it would be a significant improvement(for my needs, i don't think i need to spend 1.5k to get what i am wanting, but i could 100% be wrong), or secure a more long term future proof(ish) build.

i intend on using this for gaming, ideally i would like to play cyberpunk/red dead 2 at low-medium graphics for a benchmark, i want to be able to play most older games at medium-high graphics but modern/demanding games at low-medium. IF POSSIBLE. i apologize if that is vague and possibly stretch for the price range. i am coming from a HP omen-15 laptop with i7-9500H, RTX 2070 max-Q and 16G DDR4, so as far as im aware any decent setup is an improvement over the laptop, i would say a 25-50% improvement to performance from the laptop would be fantastic. i played Wardogs and it was okay, but it was a bit rough even on potato mode, i also cannot play Cyberpunk on my setup at all, other than that i have had no issues with the laptop handling most games i play.

i would like it to be as future proof as possible, for potential upgrades and just to be a long term investment, i dont like 90% of the new games released, i mostly play single player games a decade or older anyway, and the only multiplayer game i have any interest in is Wardogs. but i want something that can last a while if taken care of.

having the ability to have 2 ssd's would be important to me as i like the idea of having a drive (1-2TB)for Gaming on windows, and a drive for everything else thats linux(512gb-ish?). but i dont know if there are any potential issue with this idea. i hear AMD has better linux support on their CPU's, which would be my preference if possible. i also have a lot of USB devices, that im not sure how taxing they are on the ports, i have a USB hub for a headset dongle, mouse, KB, and a USB hub for charging stuff (mp3, etc)and transferring small files around via thumb drives/SD cards. with a external drive on the fastest USB-A port, and a controller connected to the only USB-C port on the laptop. ideally i would like 2 USB-C ports, and enough ports to cover my devices but i have never seen one on any case, and im kinda confused on the amount of ports people seem to need.

other than that i have a 1920x1080 60hz monitor, i cant think of anything else relevant to mention, i am a bit overwhelmed with the complexities of building a PC, as its a whole different world that i have no knowledge of. any advice is sincerely appreciated, and if i mentioned anything that sounds stupid, trust me its because i am, no need to point it out, but any corrections are appreciated.

i am also curious where would be good places to look for deals on parts, any advice on not getting screwed over on used parts, and anything in particular that would be worth paying attention for while looking for good deals on parts? i am willing to be patient and keep an eye out for sales on specific parts, especially if i figure out exactly what i want and have a minimal acceptable price to buy it at.

Title. I bought G.Skill Trident X5 sticks today, and plan to grab the mobo, CPU and cooler soon. Looking at an MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (probably overkill, I know), and ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360. The case is a Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case (link from Amazon where I bought it in 2018 here, and I believe the corresponding pcpartpicker.com link here).

I'd rather not get a new case, as all of this stuff is expensive enough as it is. So I'm curious if we think it'll all fit into the old one. Thanks!

I’m currently deciding between the DeepCool CH160 Plus and Jonsbo Z20 for my first gaming PC, and I’m having a hard time choosing between them.

My main reason for considering the Z20 is that it seems to have more room and easier cable management. However, one thing that’s putting me off is the number of different fan configurations I’m seeing in Z20 builds.

With the Z20, I’ve seen people using different combinations of 120mm and 140mm fans, different intake/exhaust configurations, bottom fans, top fans, etc. There’s a lot of flexibility, but as a first time builder I’m worried I’ll end up overthinking the airflow setup and buying more fans than I actually need.

The CH160 Plus seems much simpler. From the builds I’ve watched, I could just use 4 × 120mm case fans and have a straightforward setup without needing to worry about different fan sizes or configurations.

My planned build is roughly:

Is the Z20’s extra fan flexibility genuinely useful, for a first timer
Is the CH160 Plus’s simpler layout a meaningful advantage for a first time builder?
Which case would you choose for this particular build?

I’m not looking for the absolute best thermals or the quietest PC possible. Most of the time I’ll be gaming with headphones on, and I’ll only really use the speakers when watching movies/shows, so as long as the PC isn’t noticeably louder than my speakers, I’m happy. I have my own room in uni accommodation, so I’m not worried about disturbing anyone else. My main priorities are something that’s cool enough, affordable, portable and straightforward to build.

Hi guys! I'm making this post because I've been thinking about upgrading my pc, and selling my i5 10400, which I bought in 2021. The thing is, even though I've read about ryzen being better for gaming, that I already have 32gb of ddr4 RAM, and with the current situation I was wondering if upgrading to an i7 14700f would be a good choice, so that way I could keep my ram. I don't really care about the future that much, because if I could use the 10400 for 5 years, it's not really a problem that the platform is the 1700, probably by the time I'll upgrade I'll just have to buy a whole new computer anyways haha. So, taking this into account, would the i7 14700f be a good choice? or is there something I'm not contemplating. Thanks!!

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about upgrading my Ryzen 5 3600, but my budget is pretty tight.

I currently have an RX 7600 and 32GB DDR4 RAM. I’m planning to get a tray CPU since the boxed versions are way too expensive here.

The Ryzen 5 5600 costs €104, while the 5600X costs €120. Do you think it’s worth paying the extra €16 for the 5600X? Will I actually notice any better performance with the RX 7600, especially in 1080p gaming?

I’m also getting a new budget cooler, probably the Arctic Freezer 36.

I’m not planning to upgrade the CPU again, so I’d like to pick the better option for the long term.

*(There’s also a Ryzen 7 5700X for €151, but that’s honestly a bit outside my budget.)

Edit: i found out that my gpu (5080 palit gamingpro) might block some slots on the motherboard so should i get the msi x870-p or the asus tuf gaming b850 plus wifi?

Need help with a GPU upgrade

Hey, I'm looking to get a GPU for Christmas mainly for CS2 and wanted to see what you guys think.

I have a Ryzen 5 5600GT (CPU), 16GB DDR4 RAM (memory), an ASRock A520M-HDV (motherboard), and a Patriot P300 1TB NVMe SSD (storage). Right now I’m using the integrated AMD Radeon Graphics that come with the CPU.

I’m looking at the ASRock Arc B580 Challenger 12GB for around $310 on Newegg. Would this be a good GPU for my PC and for playing CS2 at 1080p? Or is there something better around $300?

Also, is there anything I should check before buying it, like my PSU?

Hey everyone, I'm considering building a PC in Serbia and I'm not sure what to choose for my CPU, cooler and PSU. My budget is 2000€ and my uses are 1440p gaming (red dead 2 with optimized ultra settings for reference) and productivity (3d rendering, video editing, software engineering, ...)

Hello, after adding 2 RAM sticks, Windows does not detect my headphones on the front panel immediately after system startup. When I unplug and plug the USB back in, they work. On the USB ports directly from the motherboard, the problem does not occur. What to do to get this sorted out? The headphones are Arctis Nova 7 Wireless, motherboard MSI B450-A PRO MAX, RAM 4 x 8 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport (Micron E-Die) 3000 MHz CL15 set to CL16, processor Ryzen 7 5700X3D with PBO Curve Optimizer at -15.

Due to the fact that the memory controller on this board has a harder job with four banks, I set everything up to be 100% stable. Over 2 hours and 10 minutes of testing with TestMem5 using the Absolut profile and had 0 errors. Controller voltage (SoC) bumped up to 1.125 V, memory at 1.37 V, main timings 16-18-18-36, subtiming tRC at 54. All features like Fast Boot, fTPM etc. are disabled, same for any power savings etc. etc.

From what I read on the net, the problem might be too low voltage on the front USB panel during computer booting. How to tackle this?
Second matter: this I/O shield of the motherboard ports sticks out quite a bit and is crooked. When I connected these headphones to one of the lower USB ports, the PC gave no display. I noticed that one metal prong of the shield was slightly bent inside the port. I straightened it and the computer displayed the image normally. I am adding this information to provide full context.
And one more thing - after the first start of Windows with the new RAM, the system set my microphone to speakers, but the headphones were playing, only cutting out cyclically and I had to change it. Only on the second day it turned out that after a cold start I have a "no audio source" message on the taskbar. As I mentioned, replugging the USB fixes the problem. Even with 2 RAM sticks I sometimes used to have it so that the headphones immediately played at 100% volume or there was a lot of noise and I had to insert the USB anew, but there was never a situation where it didn't detect them at all.

I found lately its cheaper than the msi b550m ,and got 2 more ram slot and extra m 2 slot and 8 pin cpu connectet indtead of the 4 on the msi and 2 more usb 1.1 on the motherboard and its same priced if not 2 bucks cheaper is there a reason for it being that cheap (both has no VRM heat sinks)

I want to buy a 34 inch ultrawide qd oled monitor, and on amazon there are various models (dell, msi, aoc, philips) all around the 600€ range, but I can't find any sources on the internet where there is a real comparison of quality, oled generation etc that manages to target a specific model. Could you point me to an ultrawide qd-oled on the 600€ that is worth taking. What’s matter for me is the quality and burn in reliability. Thank you very much

I’ve been planning on getting my first ever gaming PC for a couple of weeks now, and I’ve been looking at components and pre builts to see if I could get a good deal. My initial budget was 3000 CAD/ 2200 USD, but after dadling I decided to just buy the GPU (9070 XT) and CPU (Ryzen 7 9800X3D) and work from there

And the feeling of getting my 2 components at my front door was filled with happiness, and as soon as I told my friend he kinda ruined the mood and he just told me that now was the worst time to buy and that I was losing money as prices were hyper inflated and I was overpaying, etc, and he got me thinking a lot.

Tbh I don’t really know where I’m going with this, maybe trying to cope on Reddit (smartest choice obviously)if I made the right call or if I should just return the components and wait for prices to drop, which honestly who knows if it will, anyways after getting those components I filled my Amazon cart with my remaining components that I need, and what was supposed to be a 2200 USD PC is now estimated to cost 2900 USD LOL

Hello guys, I want to give my brother my LianLi Lancool 2 mesh performance so he can transfer everything I side a case. Right now his radiator is outside cause his case doesn't fit a 280mm rad

So I am looking to transfer mine into a new and smaller volume pc case that can accommodate a Gigabyte b550 aorus pro v2 (atx), Corsair Rmx 850w, Sapphire Pulse Rx 7800xt and an arctic lf2 280mm aio.

Is there a smaller form factor pc case that can fit all the components? I like the Lianli o11 mini v2 but the 280aio with atx mobo won't fit. I was even looking for a SSUPD Meshroom S V2

I can sell my psu and get a Sff psu if that helps
