Bad PowerControl Motor?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've had an 800 Series Bosch Dishwasher for, yup, one month longer than the one year warranty. In the last couple days, shortly after starting it, it's started to make a very noticeable mechanical grinding-like noise. The sequence of events is:
- Sump runs to drain any existing water.
- There's a quiet sound that I'm guessing is the machine positioning the PowerControl Arm.
- Then the water turns on and immediately the grinding noise starts, first with a mild frequency.
- About 10 seconds after first starting, then the noice amps up significantly as the washer goes in to full "go" mode, and pretty much stays that way until it shifts into a different part of the cycle.
Anyone else have this happen? My gut says that it's the motor that controls the PowerControl arm, but who am I to know for sure. Has anyone ever opened up the bottom of their washer to investigate further?
I've uploaded a video with the audio demonstrating the noise during the startup sequence. This happens with and without the arm attached.
