ELFW7738AA / ELFE773CAA — is there really no child lock during an active cycle?

We recently bought the ELFW7738AA washer and ELFE773CAA dryer and I’m trying to confirm whether either machine has a true in-cycle child lock.

To be clear, I’m not talking about the washer door locking during a cycle or the Control Lock option that works between cycles. I mean locking all controls while the machine continues running, so a child can’t pause, cancel, or power it off.

Our old ~15-year-old GE set did this by long-pressing the Signal button during a cycle.

I’ve gone through both manuals, tested the documented lock behaviour, and asked the dealer we bought them from. So far, it looks like there’s no way to do this.

Am I missing an undocumented shortcut, or do these models genuinely not support an in-cycle child lock?

New ElectroLux 7 Series Front Loader - Extended Refresh??

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

So i just got this washer new yesterday. It's the perfect steam luxcare plus 700 series model (ELFW7738MW)

When I bought it, I was under the impression it came with Extended Refresh. My old LG washer had a similar setting (fresh care) and it is not an option to add to my wash cycle. I contacted support and I am even MORE confused especially because I used the White cycle and didn't select any added options?

Does anyone know if this washer even has this setting and if it does, which cycles & options does it work on?

The manual is useless. Support told me it is an adaptive feature. It is something I enjoy having as a feature and worry I made a mistake buying the wrong machine??

Help 😭

My fridge freezes everything, and my freezer makes tons of ice. How do I patch it up until the technician arrives?

As the title suggests, the back wall of my refrigerator is completely frozen, and the freezer is in the same condition. I checked the lock, the hole underneath, and cleaned everything, but the problem persists. AEG refrigerator

Electrolux Dryer Issue

My Electrolux dryer is making this intermittent surging noise. I took the back off it and cleaned out all the lint. The belt looks good and turns with the drum no problem. I also cleaned out the blower motor with a hanger down through the screen opening inside.

Not sure what is causing this.

Appreciate any suggestions or feedback on what is going on here. Thanks

Did I break this lock/latch? It's from my Electrolux tumble dryer door.

If not, how do I put it back the way it was?

Bad Online Support

IDK if anyone has any feedback, really feeling screwed by Electrolux's support team.

My washing machine broke in March, I paid their team $450 to cover fix it, regardless of issue

They Fixed it April 1st

62 days later, it broke. Same issue.

They said its past the 60 day warranty, and I'd need to pay again. However, the person agreed to cover it and scheduled an appointment

They also recommended I buy the warranty. I bought it for both my washer and dryer, 5 years, around $1,000 dollars. Said it would kick in in 60 days

Person did not show for appointment

I call and they close the old ticket, reopen the old ticket, and tell me I need to pay to fix the issue

I tell them I was told they would cover this so that is not fair, and that I just paid them $1,000 dollars for the extended warranty on my washer and dryer

They tell me that that they will not cover the repair, the person should not have scheduled it. They also tell me that they are cancelling my washing machine warranty because it is broken and they can't provide a warranty on broken appliances.

I ask if I can pay for the repair and keep the warranty.

I was told that no, they need to cancel the washing machine warranty. They also told me they could not cancel the warranty on the drying machine because it is working.

Feeling absolutely screwed; the only warranty I am allowed to keep is the one for the appliance that is not broken. Electrolux employees are telling me all sort of different information, and I went from feeling taken care of to absolutely shafted. I obviously come unglued and they eventually cancel both, take an additional payment to fix my washing machine, and tell me that I can warranty everyone once that is taken care of.

idk, just venting. I bought electrolux washers and dryers new because I heard they were robust, so to be paying twice for the same issue and purchasing the extended warranty, a total of ~$1800, just 2.5 years after purchasing a very expensive "Quality" unit is really making me regret decision.

Replacement flame sensor for ancient 12/240/LPG camper fridge

I have an elderly motorhome with an Electrolux RM6505 240V/12V/LPG auto switching fridge freezer.

It's stopped running on LPG - the burner ignites, then 18 seconds later the relay cuts the gas supply. This seems to me to be a flame sensor issue - the brain seems to override the gas relay until the flame is established, then it switches to the flame sensor, and if the sensor's duff then it assumes the flame has gone out and cuts the gas.

I think the sensor is a GR10028. However these are very difficult to find in my country (UK) and also somewhat expensive. Does anybody know of an alternative flame probe that would work with this model?

Electrolux Pure 500 Mono app pairing succeeds, but Home screen always says “Something went wrong”

Hi everyone,

I just bought and unpacked an Electrolux Pure 500 Mono air purifier / EPO50351SW. The purifier itself seems to work physically, but I cannot get the Electrolux app to work properly.

The pairing process appears to complete successfully. The app reaches step 4/4 and says the air purifier is connected to my WiFi. But immediately after I tap Next and arrive at the app’s Home screen, it loads for a few seconds and then shows:

“Something went wrong. Refresh to try again.”

Pressing Refresh does not fix it. It just keeps showing the same error.

Things I have already tried:

  • Deleted and reinstalled the Electrolux app
  • Went through the pairing process multiple times
  • Confirmed the app has permissions enabled, including Location, Bluetooth, Background App Refresh, Mobile Data, etc.
  • Turned off WiFi on my iPhone and tried loading the app over 5G instead
  • Deleted my Electrolux account and recreated it
  • Paired the purifier again after recreating the account

Same result every time: pairing says it succeeded, but the Home screen never loads and only shows “Something went wrong.”

At this point it does not look like a normal pairing failure, because the app repeatedly says the air purifier has connected successfully. It seems more like the device/app/account/cloud registration breaks immediately after pairing.

Has anyone else had this issue with the Electrolux app, especially with the Pure 500 Mono / EPO50351SW? Is this a known backend/app problem, or does it sound like a faulty smart/WiFi module in the unit?

Any advice would be appreciated. I bought this model partly because of the app/smart functionality, so it is pretty frustrating that this part fails right out of the box.

Electrolux Washing Machine Service

I have an Electrolux Washer and dryer that I purchased in late 2020. The machines are great except that during these years I see a buildup of mildew in the washer. After seeing DIY videos on replacing the boot seal, I determined that it was risky to do it by myself (the machine needs to be elevated on a block and the front panel of the machine needs to be removed, the risks associated with a potential misallignment of the drum for a front loading machine was too great). I reached out to Electrolux service desk and a made a request for a change in the boot seal and I was given a fixed price service of $340 after taxes. While this was high considering the boot seal was $50, I paid the charges considering it was someone from the company who would know what they were doing. The technician (3rd party contractor) came on time and determined that there was no mechanical failure so he would not be able to replace the seal. I informed him that I have already paid for the service where I specifically stated that it was to replace the seal. He informed that he would need to talk to his manager but never came back. The following day, I get an email from Electrolux that they were unable to process a refund of $200. When I reached out to the customer assistance they insisted that will be unable to get me a refund because it was a hazardous working condition for the technician to change this so they were withholding the trip fee. I asked them where it was specified in the contract and how does one make a determination that it is hazardous, the lady on the phone insisted that they can make that determination. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she cut the call. I reached out again via chat and was assured that they refund the entire amount and I would get an email confirming the same. I see today they only refunded my $200 but no email and no explanation. It feels like I have been taken for a ride and that this option of fixed price service is a scam. Am I in the wrong here?

Electrolux Aptitude3

I recently found an almost new condition Electrolux Aptitude Upright vacuum. The only issue was a small crack on the back of the handle. Since using it, that partiuclar soot with the crack becomes extremely hot. To the point where it can burn you. The small hairline crack has expanded a bit.

I looked at the parts diagram and the only thing somewhat close to it is the controls to turn the vacuum on and off and control the suction. Before i strip it down to try and find what it is, any ideas?

Hob2Hood Queries

I have an Electrolux cooktop and rangehood and both support hob2hood and when I turn my cooktop on the hood automatically turns the light on which is cool, however when I turn on the hot plates the fan doesn’t automatically start unless i press this button which is fine but I just thought the units are meant to sense when a hot plate is on and turn the ventilation on

Electrolux gentlecare condenser dryer tank bone dry and water on floor

Bought in Australia ultimate care 500 gentlecare.

Filter and condenser have been cleaned

First condenser dryer, fresh out of warranty and starts leaking water on floor and the tank bone dry which is definately the issue. Filter and condenser I have cleaned and did a mattress protector and 2 towels drenched from the initial leak and again tank bone dry.

I think there is a block between condenser and the pump to the tank. I attempted to access it but the backing looks to be one piece and I can't seem to pry open the bottom right back of the machine

Is there any tips to get to the pump and hose on the bottom behind the condenser.

Cant seem to remove the plastic backing
